  1. I agree, Cancun flights and Resort options are more abundant. I decided on Hard Rock Hotel Cancun, however I am now a bit disspaointed that my TA wasn't able to quote at NOW Sapphire as well as @@KathyandEthan. I love the wedding Packages at HRH and the Perks, but those perks benefit us more than our guests. I wouldve liked an AM Resort in my budget and seeing that it was possible, is a bit concerning. Will have to take a deep breath and short walk before I email my TA who has been nothing shy of amazing so I am sure there is a valid explanation.
  2. I found Cancun and Mayan Riviera to be most cost effective and seats available. Jamaica and Dominican Republic came in much higher and very limited options of flights left for Spring 2015. Happy Researching!
  3. @@KathyandEthan Congrats on booking your wedding! Where are you flying from? I tried to find a Resort for end of April for approx $1500 per guest and just could not! Not sure if it was due to flight availability, but I ended up booking at Hard Rock Cancun for twice that I did have AM Resorts on my Wish List with travel agent and it came back much higher.... Having said that, I am from Canada.
  4. @@Pablou - Yes my travela agent is certified as a Hard Rock WOW Specialist and gave me a Certificate for 3 nights / 4 days to visit the resort in August to meet the WC and tour the property. I am so pleased with her and what she negotiated for us. I think you should inquire with your TA as I am sure she has incentives awarded her upon booking that she may consider passing onto you. Where and when are you getting married?
  5. I am booking Hard Rock Cancun for April 2015 tonight! The perks, credits, and Wedding Packages are a huge seller for me! I originally wanted Hard Rock Punta Cana but could not be accomodated for flights! I agree... go visit before the wedding. I will be going in Aug courtesy of the Travel Agent I booked through! Will keep you posted as I embark on the HRC Wedding Planning Journey!
  6. Thanks for the info ladies... Much appreciated! I did contact Laurie Lee and she was incredibly prompt in responding even though she is in Vegas. Having said that I also contacted a WOW Specialist with Hard Rock Hotels that lives in Wetaskwin, AB - Kelsie Abrahamson at Travel Only and she has been nothing shy of amazing! I emailed her at 10 am yesterday and she had quotes and options to me by 3pm!! I will most likely be securing a Venue tonight. Not only was Kelsie super prompt, she has unbelievable knowledge on Hard Rock, Karisma, and AM Resort Weddings. She also found me "added perks" and "credits" that no other Resort or airline was offering. I am not feeling as overwhelmed now....
  7. Thanks ever so much for the information, but I haven't reached my 150 posts yet so I cannot view the photos. I think I read somewhere that you can purchase a membership to have access without the posts? I will see if I can find the info again and sign up so I can have access to valuable reviews, content, and photos. Congrats on your April 2015 wedding! (There may be a chance that we are on the same flight to DR...! I am deciding on DR or Mexico with a date range of April 11- 18!)
  8. I too have been going back and forth between AM Resorts - (Dreams / Now) and Karisma ( El Dorado / Generations)! I live in Edmonton AB and just returned from EDR and Generations Maya Riviera! I was blown away at the amazing service, food, and decor! The only complaint and reason to consider any other Hotel Group was the beach. I wish Karisma had a property in the Domincan as my indecisiveness would be no more! May I ask who you used for a Travel Agent for your group booking? I have guests from Calgary and Edmonton and want to find that amazing agent who will negotiate a great rate and get it done! Good Luck with your wedding!
  9. Any other Edmonton Brides? Looking for a Travel Agent that specializes in Destination Weddings and willing to negotiate best rate to "Make it Happen"!
  10. Do you have any photos to share from Generations Maroma? I booked at EDR but was upgraded to Generations Maya Riviera in April for 2 weeks and absolutley loved it! The Butler Service, Food, and Rooms were unbelievable! I just wish the beach was nicer.... hoping Maroma property will be the one!
  11. I wish there was a Wendy or Wright Travel in Canada... Anyone have an amazing Canadian Travel Agent that specializes in Destination Weddings?
  12. Thanks ever so much @@rvalenka! I notice you are going to Secrets Maroma! Is there a sister hotel next door to it that allows children? I am currently considering Genrations / El Dorado Maroma, but I absolutley love the Secrets Brand. And yes... Resort Reviews are abundant, but also creating more indecisiveness for me! lol... It is overwhelming. No time like now to defeat that overwhelming feeling as I am sure to face it several more times this next year! Good Luck to you on your wedding!
  13. New Canadian Bride for 2015 needs Save the Date, my turn to "pop the question" cards for MOH and BM, and Inviations. Love the Passport Theme, but want to make it unique and my own. Has anyone else from Canada used "Allurements by Rebecca" ? Just conerned about turnaround time, shipping, duty etc. Or is it better to source out my own graphics designer here in Canada? Thanks, much appreciated!
  14. Have just returned from a 2 week vacation with El Dorado Resorts and Generations Mayan Riviera where I was pleasantly surprised with a marriage proposal from my love, Lanny. We have decided on a destination wedding for April 2015 and anxious to start planning. I am struggling to choose between Dominican Republic and Mexico. I loved the amazing guest service, gourment inclusive, and attention to detail with Karisma in Mexico, however I was not happy with the beach. I love the beaches in Dominican Republic but wasn't a fan of the mediocre food, aggressive beach vendors, and not feeling safe to leave resort without escort. I am hoping my experience in Puerto Plata was due to the Resort I stayed at as I have heard of many wonderful experiences from friends vacationing in Punta Cana. I want our wedding to be affordable for our guests but not to compromise premium food, guest service, and for the beach to be a "wow" ! Combined we have 4 children with two being under 18 so our love for Adults Only Resorts will not be an option, unless it is a sister property next door where some of our adult guests could choose to book. Thus far, I have considered NOW, Dreams, Hard Rock, and Karisma Resorts but open to input from anyone who has been over the top amazed at their WC and Resort. Please help... I need to secure a venue, or a Country! haha Thanking you in advance.... Kind Regards, Angela Jackson
