  1. Natalie we're sharing the same secret I hadn't wanted to even acknowledge the "signing of the papers day" but it will actually be a day I'll never forget. We snuck down to the courthouse with my parents on their anniversary! My FI has been asking what my wedding dress looks like since I purchased it and I kept telling him its hot pink! I decided to surprise him at the courthouse by wearing a hot pink dress and heels So now we'll forever have a secret memory with my parents on their anniversary and have our "real" anniversary on June 15th which is sneaking up on us VERY fast! I have to say that since our secret I Do's I feel MUCH calmer about everything and having this fabulous secret is kind of fun! You girls are the first I've spilled the beans to! Lol! We both cant wait to wear our rings June 15th!!
  2. Well my fiancé has just looked at the pile of things I already have for the OOT bags and freaked out about having too much to pack...so apparently I've been vetoed (even though I still want them!) lol. I know other brides will pounce on these though! Thank you for the shipping info!
  3. You You poor poor thing!! No fun!! Seems like a fabulous excuse for a destination vow renewal in your futures though Congratulations on being married!!
  4. That's no problem...look forward to hearing from you
  5. Could you perhaps tell me the shipping costs for the Avon bug wipes to 78259 please? Thanks so much!
  6. You're doing a great job of it! Thank you for your advice on videographers as well! Do you happen to know their prices?
  7. Hi Hi Carlota, Could you perhaps help with the correct way to say "these items are not for re-sale, they are for my wedding in Playa del Carmen"...or something along those lines to put in our suitcases and tubs carrying all our decorations and contents for our OOT bags. Thank you so much!
  8. No problem!! Glad I could help! Can't wait to see pics from your wedding! Another fun thing at the Diria is they have a webcam with live broadcast so you can go stand on the beach right there and wave at your friends! Lol! My mom called me when I was sunbathing there and told me what I was wearing (she knew we were staying there)...freaked me out...til I looked up and saw the camera! Lol! She was able to watch Bill taking surf lessons all the way from Texas...hysterical! Lol! When you go into town I may ask you to look at the name of an amazing macramé jewelry store on the Main Street past the Diria on the left. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it and I can't find it online! Lol!
  9. I'm I'm currently at war with them about the overcharges and constant changes! It's been 8 months of hell dealing with them and I can't wait for it all to be over! So yes, everyone make sure you track every conversation and cost because they're very very tricky!! Let me know about the videographer...I'm June 15th so hopefully you'll let us know in time for me to make a last minute decision! Lol
  10. p.s. Just out of curiosity there isn't a link or anything that you still have access to to see your video is there? Incase you wanted to see it after the fact? I find it weird I haven't been able to find a single video example anywhere and would love to see one! If not, no biggie...it just seems strange to me especially since they work with such a large chain of resorts! Lol!
  11. Well I think this just solidified that I won't be getting the smallest video package they offer at $500!!! Lol! It's not included in my package but I'm afraid I'll regret not having the full ceremony on video years from now and we're bringing our photographers down with us so I refuse to pay an outside vendor fee just for a videographer (who I'm sure would be more expensive!)...thank you for your help! I still haven't heard back from them anyways which I think is inexcusable when I've had other vendors answer me within the hour! Thank you so much!
  12. Ohhh Ohhhh we need to track her down! Lol! I'm a little worried though that they haven't answered me or Mariposa! Eeek!
  13. Holy cow! 5 days!! So exciting!! You mentioned Funever...I'm going blue in the face trying to get responses from the Wedding Coordinator and the company itself (pretty bad if you ask me...that they won't even email me back) to see if there are any examples of their videography besides their marketing video and I'm getting nowhere! So irritating! We're bringing our own photographers from the states but I'm afraid I'm going to regret not having a videographer so I was willing to consider paying the outrageous $500 bucks to have the ceremony filmed...you didn't happen to see any of their video work did you when you were there? I can't find any brides or anything on Google which worries me and makes me wonder why this chain works with them...
  14. My fiancé must be related to y'alls! Lolol! "WHAT?? We have to get each other gifts?? Our rings aren't enough????" is what I heard! Lolol!
  15. I'm sitting here trying to figure this out too! Our families are so different (think city vs country) that I don't know what to get...then I need to get something for his grandma too and just so we don't cause any hurt feelings we need to get his step mom something too even though she never actually raised him...so I have no clue! We bought the dad's and grandpa some Jon Hart personalized goodies...and now I'm stuck for the ladies. I was thinking something easy to pack like jewelry, but I don't know if they'll wear it and I can't afford to waste money like that! Lol
  16. Have you considered looking around Manuel Antonio?? It's a mixture of all the things you're looking for...rainforest, water view...water access if you want. There are great little restaurants around there and I know they have some great American wedding coordinators in the area who's English will come in handy when dealing with the Ticos (who tend to live on "Tico-time"...they'll get to it when they get to it).
  17. I lived in Costa Rica for 6 months a year ago and I can highly recommend the Tamarindo Diria!! The resort is beautiful and unique and you can walk into town...there's great excursions available and even though its more westernized than other Costa Rican options, it's still a great place. Depending on your familiarity with Costa Rica (and your guests' familiarity) you may want to stay here just for the simple fact that it is slightly more westernized than other options! Costa Rica is a pain to travel in thanks to their roads (or lack thereof) and you're smart to get married around that area because you have the option of flying into the airport near there vs. San Jose and driving forever to get there. Let me know if you have any other questions...I can try and help you...I have a friend who owns a bar in Tamarindo as well.
