  1. Hey, this goes out to all the brides who have already married at the MP. Can you please tell me how many songs i need whilst the guests are waiting, the bride walking down the isle, for after the ceremony, etc? Once the ceremony is over, the cocktail hour will follow. Do you supply your own music whilst the guests have drinks and chat? I assume my fiance and i will be whisked off for photos so dont want to leave my guests in silence. Any help or advice would be greatly received. Louise x
  2. I did have her originally but now appear to be with a lady called Brenda. Daniela seemed ok for the short time we communicates but like someone pointed out to me the other day on this page, she won't end up being your actual wedding coordinator on site. You'll be with someone new again xx good luck xx
  3. Did anyone have Brenda as there wedding coordinator? I've had 2 previously, the last was Daniela and now Brenda. I'm not getting married till October so not panic struck yet but just seems odd how I keep getting passed about as the months go by? Thanks x
  4. This is a great thread to have started up I'm getting married on 16th October this year and it feels a million miles away and a bit of a dream until you see pictures like that and now I can't wait and feel very lucky to be getting married at the Moon Palace We've booked to stay on the Grand side along with my mum and bridesmaid. Both myself and my bridesmaid have children (young ones). Infact I would have only had my second child 2 months before we fly so all very exciting (and slightly stressful being a bride and a new mummy again). We have a superior deluxe garden club room (no idea what it is) but I here the rooms on the Grand side are nicer so am happy what ever it may be At the moment, nothing is booked in terms of venue except getting married on the beach. Although I didn't realise there was more then one beach location until reading this thread. I hope you all have a wonderful day and that its all that you hoped it would be xx
  5. Hi, I'm obsessed with Maggie Sottero dresses and although I'm getting married abroad, I couldn't resist a full on, big dress.... I have bought 'Selina' - it's not everyone's taste but I'm quite tall and can afford to have a big skirt as it doesn't swamp me Ill be wearing a hoop underneath to let some air under the skirt and will be wearing flat shoes as I don't need the height (in fact I'm even considering going bare foot and just wearing some foot jewellery to add some sparkle). It's a bit late now for people's opinions but what do you all think of 'Selina'? Xx
  6. Louise & Steve - Moon Palace Golf & Spa resort. 16th October 2013
  7. Hi girls, We're getting married on the 16th October at 2pm and we picked the pure collection. Time has flown since booking it and to make matters a little more stressful, I've just found out I'm pregnant!! Baby is due July so have a few weeks to recover but talk about bad timing!! Lol Xxx
  8. Thank you Does that mean even if we do qualify for the unlimited private functions, that we still have to pay $30 p/p to have food after the ceremony for my wedding party & I? I asked the moon palace brides 2012 if they knew about the unlimited functions. I'm from the UK and with all my guests attending, including my fiancé and I, we currently have 70 nights between us but will have at least 1 more couple booking bringing us past the 75 room nights requirement. Has any one heard or come across a UK wedding party who has booked as a group, not receiving the same group amenities as advertised on the web simply because there coming from the UK? Thanks Louise x
  9. Moon Palace Brides 2012.....please help this Moon Palace October 2013 bride to-be! I notice on the website the following which has left me intrigued: 5-9 rooms for 3 nights or 15 room nights = 1 room night + 1 hour private function^ 10 - 19 rooms for 3 nights or 30 room nights = 2 room nights + 1 hour cocktail reception^ 20-24 rooms for 3 nights or 60 room nights = 4 room nights + 1 two hour private function^ 25 rooms for 3 nights or 75 room nights = 7 room nights + unlimited private functions (one hour cocktail + two hour dinner. MAX three hours per day. Non cumulative)^ + 1 room upgrade for the bride and groom to the next available room category up to Concierge Level.* I am from the UK (it does say USA Residents but surely the same deal will apply even though were from the UK) and currently have 70 nights booked as a group with the amount of guests staying at the hotel. There will definitely be more coming which will easily exceed the 75 room nights as explained above. Does this mean that my fiance and I will be entitled to the unlimited private functions (and does this include food or do we have to pay extra for that?). Any clarification would be massively helpful plus anything you discovered along the way (tips, hints and advice) would be gratefully received. Thank you so much, Louise xx
  10. Hi, I am also a Moon Palace bride from the UK and your wedding date of the 8th October is the day i fly out to Cancun I have just had my weddings pack through from the travel agent and my wedding date is the 16th October - one week after your wedding! so excited now Do you know how the 'Cocktail reception' or 'private functions' work yet? i am very confused about there options..... also on the website is says if you go as a group (which we are - are you?) and stay X amount of nights, you get so much included in your wedding such as the cocktail reception and private function. Do you know any thing more about this? I feel i have been told the basics but all the important details haven't been explained all that well so feel a bit up in the air about it. Hope your enjoying all the planning involved for your special day. Louise x
  11. Thanks for trying to help me hun but sadly I cant download any PDF's or attachments on this site
  12. Blimey! so what qualifies you for 'unlimited events'? So far i have 5 rooms booked and each room is staying 14 nights - a total of 70 nights? (sorry to ask you but so confused lol) xx
  13. Thank you Do you know about additional charges for food during the reception? Thanks again x
  14. Can anyone tell me what the 'dinner reservation for 30 people is' included in the wedding packages please? My fiance and I have picked the 'Pure' Collection which includes 3 reception tables in the price. This cant be the 'dinner reservation for 30 people' so when does this dinner take place and do we have to pay extra for food during the reception? there's no mention of having to pay extra for food during your reception so what are my options? i doubt people are left to starve or have to go to the nearest restaurant and walk back to the reception lol (i hope not anyway). Thanks xxxx
  15. Hi everyone, Im interested to know what you have decided upon for your evening entertainment? the Music Packages at the Moon Palace seem a bit pricey and I have no idea what half of it is thats been included? for example..a console (what is it?) - to me a console is what you use to play on your PlayStation!! lol Im sure i read people used an ipod station, etc or even went to the disco after but how did that work out? was it any good or do you wish you'd paid the extra and used the D.J? Any brides who have been married at the Moon Palace or any bride to-be who has had discussions with the hotel about the same thing, your input here would be greatly appreciated. Lou xx
  16. Hi, I am also an October 2013 bride-to-be! and im getting nervous now after seeing how many of you are also going to Moon Palace at the same time of year. No one wants to be left with the 'left overs' or the places that no one else wanted.... we all want our day to be special so ill just have to keep my fingers crossed. My fiance and I only booked yesterday so don't expect to hear any time soon but we booked with Virgin. Am I the only one who hasn't booked with Thomas Cook?? Im from the UK and live in Bedfordshire by the way it would be nice to get to know some of you so we can discuss wedding plans, etc Take care, Lou x
  17. Hey Ladies, My Fiance and I booked our wedding yesterday and now I have to wait a while to get my wedding date confirmed but all I know is that we are definitely having the Pure wedding collection. I am worried that October will be popular and I wont get my chosen date, preferred location, etc Also found out that we now have to wait 4 days instead of 3 before we can get married as Mexico have changed it for next year. I hope it all works out for the best in the end??? Lou x
  18. Hi, My name is Louise and my other half and I got engaged last Tuesday in New York (yey!!) and are now looking at getting married in Mexico in 2013. I am looking at 2 hotels/resorts, Azul Sensatori and the Moon Palace - both look gorgeous but I must say I have stayed at the Moon Palace back in 2004 and absolutely loved it. However! I have seen some beautiful photos of a wedding that took place 2 years ago at the Sensatori and now im torn The only travel agent who has Sensatori in the UK is Thomson. I visited my local shop a couple of months ago to book a holiday and just happened to bring up the Sensatori in conversation. Of course the girls get to visit these places or have even had a holiday there them selves and sadly, they didn't have a high opinion of it and said there are much better hotels in Mexico (Moon Palace being one of them). I like the look of the wedding I saw on pictures last night on this site but the tour operator told me to go elsewhere (and that was just when i was thinking about having a holiday there! a wedding is even more important!). I wanted to ask brides who have got married there or who have booked to have your wedding there, what made you decide on the Sensatori and how did your wedding turn out? tips, words of advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks x
  19. Hi, My other half and I are looking to get married in Mexico and i think it will be at either the Moon Palace or the Azul Sensatori. I've seen lots of pics from the Moon Palace but just seen some wedding pics at the Sensatori from about 2 years ago and they are fantastic!. What worries me though.....is it the pics that make it look good?? one of the Thomson travel agents (who are the only tour operator for Sensatori in the UK) said the Sensatori in Mexico isn't one of their best and their are better hotels in Mexico (talk about put a real negative spin on things - i thought they were suppose to sell it to me lol) Can i ask other Brides or Brides to be what made you choose Sensatori over any where else? if you've been married there, how did you find it? any tips or words of advice? did you have a beach or roof top wedding? Thanks, Lou x
