  1. Congrats suzanni84!  Sounds like you're all set and on top of things!  And you're so lucky to be able to mix-and-match menus!  I don't think I'm allowed to do that but we're also debating about doing a buffet to give people more options. Hmm...so many choices!  I might do the same about the cake and just go with the tarts/desserts from the menus.  What time is your ceremony?  I was thinking if it begins at 4pm and ends around 4:30pm, then cocktail hour will be from 4:30pm-5:30pm and then a 3 hour reception would mean we end at 8:30pm!  Kinda early!  Would love to hear about what others are doing with the timing.  Anyone starting cocktail hour a bit later?  Not sure what to do...thanks!

  2. I agree with agm04!  If you had a larger wedding at home, it would cost about the same as a more intimate wedding abroad!  plus, you're not really paying for just 1 night, it's a vacation and a weekend experience with your closest friends and family!  one of my friends keeps telling me "this cuts out the riff raff" haha!  and it's true!  of course there will be some people who can't make it but think of the memories (and the fun pics) you'll have afterwards!

  3. I visited Now Jade last month and I fell in love with the Pergola too!  The view is fantastic and yeah, you can definitely rock them heels, ladies!  There was a wedding reception at Castaways while I was there as well and they had a DJ!  Castaways closes for dinner so I think you can have a DJ there since there won't be other hotel guests eating dinner there while you party the night away!  Good luck planning!  No matter what you choose, I'm sure it will be so beautiful and fun!!!!

  4. I agree!  A travel agent, especially one with a great relationship with the hotel, will be able to get you a great deal along with possibly perks from your hotel for the group booking.  And it'll be nice for all your guests to have someone they can contact with questions, other than you!  :-)

  5. Hi Belovedbride and Bksweetheart!  Looks like there are a handful of other 2013 brides as well!  I'm excited to hear about how all the planning is coming together and also any advice from former Beloved brides!  Have you decided on your menu?  It sounded like you pick 1 menu and add another main course option.  Has anyone mixed & matched items from different menus?  So excited and looking forward to hearing from everyone!
