  1. Thanks for the reply All along, we have been saying that we were having the symbolic wedding as part of the moments that matter wedding package in Now Jade.. The TA in Ireland has been great, has said that we could do that, so we paid our deposit and then when we got confirmation from the UK office, it said it was The Renewal of Vows. I think I will get in touch with the resort itself
  2. What do you think of this?? I have been dealing with a travel agent in Ireland for the last few months, and all along, she has being quoting us for 'The Moments that Matter Wedding Package'. Eventually we decided on NOW Jade and then when we got the confirmation invoice from the UK, it says its for the Renewal of Vows Package. I have just queried that with the UK Travel Agent, and she said "as you will already be married you cannot have the wedding package, you will have the Renewal of Vows package. The ceremony is similar and it is the hotel’s wedding co-ordinator who performs the Renewal as it is not a legal ceremony" I have read so many reviews on here of people who had their civil wedding at home, then had a symbolic blessing in Mexico. I want our day on the beach to feel like our wedding day... To me, a wedding co-ordinator performing my marriage, doesnt sound very romantic or special The reason, we have decided to have a civil wedding at home is to avoid blood tests, translations etc... But this is the first time anyone mentioned to me that we could not be 'married' if we are married here!! Any thoughts or input greatly appreciated Has anyone had anything similar?

  5. Hey Michael, What do you think of this?? 6. Thank you Michael for your reply. I was only looking at your website & blog today. Your photos are beautiful and congrats on your recent wedding I'm a photographer myself, so I love scrolling through others images We actually got a quote for the basic wedding package (which is perfect for us as its only the 2of us going over) included so we ended up putting a deposit on it but when we got the confirmation invoice yesterday, it said it was the renewal of vows package! I got back onto the travel agent and she said its just a different name for a symbolic blessing/ceremony, but I have my doubts. :-/ Thanks again Michael for getting in touch.
  7. Hola Samuel, Thank you so much for replying to me Have actually been looking through your many amazing photos over the last few weeks since we decided on Mexico! I'm very passionate about photography myself. Thank you for sharing these photos too. I love how you captured the emotions! Beautiful Would love to see more of them when you are done processing them. I know, it takes time!! I believe we have made the right decision for us. We are quite private people anyway & the 'Big Day' at home in Ireland just isn't for us. Your description of this couples day sounds just perfect Magical, intimate & hassle free Many thanks again Samuel
  8. I would love to hear how the couples who just went on their own got on. My fiance & I have just confirmed our date this week for May 2013 just for the 2 of us. We are super excited & thankfully have very understanding & supportive families. Although my little sister keeps getting a dig in, but at the end of the day, it is our special day & it is our dream. We dont want to be stressing about anyone else leading up to our day & we will celebrate with them when we get home
  9. Thank you so much for that. I'm finding my way around the site, so much on it, its been great so far!!
  10. Hi Ladies, I have been looking in on this site for the last 2 months since we got engaged. So now, the decision has been made. Now Jade, May 6th, 2013. Yay!! Our quote we got from our travel agent included the Free Your Moment's Package, which is perfect as it is just the 2 of us traveling over from Ireland, but then our 'confirmation invoice' states that it is the Now Soul Mates - Renewal of Vows Package?? We are having a civil ceremony at home here in Ireland before we go so we had planned to have a symbolic blessing/wedding in Mexico.
  11. Hi there We are planning to have a civil ceremony here at home in Ireland and had then planned on a Symbolic ceremony on the beach in Mexico... But I just want to know what is the difference between vow renewal ceremony and symbolic ceremony? Thanks in advance
  12. After 2 months looking for the place for us, we only just confirmed our Wedding this week for Now Jade in May 2013 and we are both so excited!! Mark & I will be travelling over to Mexico from little old Ireland for our 'wedding-moon' on our own. After much thought, we decided we would both love a beach wedding & to venture a little further afield for our special day. We also decided that we just wanted it to be the 2 of us, as it is our special day and it will be so much more personal and romantic. We had toyed with the idea of some immediate family coming, but for a few reasons, that's not going to happen. We are very happy with our decision & our family & friends are happy for us and very supportive. As no-one will be there with us to share our special day, we really want to have the photos to tell the story of our day as it unfolds. I am a photographer myself, so a wedding photographer, to me, would be one of the necessities of our wedding day I love to take natural, candid, un-posed shots, so that is the way I would like our day to be captured. I want someone to capture the emotions - the happy tear, the anxious wait, the little details, the stunning backgrounds, the beautiful turquoise of the ocean & blues of the sky, the rich colours of nature. I'd love for Mark to see me excitedly getting ready and I'd love to see him, waiting anxiously for me, but the only way that can be done is if someone captures those emotions on camera. As soon as we had decided on Mexico, I immediately started looking at Wedding Photographers there, as not every photographer captures images in a photo-journalistic style that I love. Mark is happy to go with whatever I decide as he knows how passionate I am about photography. Life through a lens is amazing, you can see so many things in such different ways. I love how photographers can see things not everyone else can and also, make beautiful everyday things that not everyone would readily see the beauty in.
  13. Yep, the more I think about it... Paperwork at home, celebrate our anniversary on the day we marry on the beach
  14. Hi ladies, Just wondering, for all you that married before you had your symbolic ceremony, what day do you celebrate your anniversary??? My fiance & I are thinking of going to Mexico to get married on a beach, our dream!! but to avoid additional costs of blood tests & translations etc, we have been thinking of having a civil wedding at home here in Ireland first. So, anniversary, the beautiful day on the beach with the special ceremony or in an office?? Thanks in advance, Susannah
