  1. Hey for any one looking for pictures of different areas of Moon Palace (more candid photos, as well as some wedding pics), I stumbled upon this website http://blog.jeffmarshstudios.com/don-jenni-the-moon-palace-cancun-mex-preview/
  2. $2500?? Did you ask for lights and a DJ as well?? If you rent the speaker system and mic from Moon Planace it's $405 for 4 hours. And as far as I know, PSAV has the same thing for under that.. so you may want to shop around for some quotes rather than buying equipment...
  3. Here's an example of someone that did their TTD in the ruins, the beach and the jungle http://variastudio.wordpress.com/2007/12/20/trash-the-dress-in-mayan-ruins-and-tulum-beach/ and here is a thread on Q's and A's on the subject http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/39767/where-to-trash-the-dress-in-tulum
  4. Oh okay then yeah look into what cenotes photographers tend to use and I say go and see what happens. Worse comes to worse, you can have a photo session at Tulum and then TTD at the beach there
  5. here is a link to another thread on the subject http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/26530/riviera-maya-cenote-locations
  6. Just stumbled upon this and I figured you may still be looking for information. As far as I know, you just have to pay a fee for entering the land or the park to access the cenote. Once you are in there you can do whatever you want. This website has a list of all the cenotes near Cancun http://docancun.com/cenotes.htm The $400 or so price would be to use a local photographer to take the pictures, but if you are bringing your own photographer, then you don't have to pay that. Just make sure they have an underwater camera and extra lighting
  7. I actually never thought about what to wear. I think white should be reserved for the wedding (my opinion) so I would go with the wedding colour
  8. Does anyone have pictures of the Lake Terrace and the Grand Terrace?? It would be greatly appreciated !!
  9. That's why I love this forum.. It keeps me sane so I would like to share that with others lol Good luck dress shopping and remember, it's YOUR wedding
  10. So I used to have Ivis as my coordinator and then she left and no one informed me who my WC was, so I just assumed it was Joannis. I sent her an email last week asking a few questions and letting her know that there was no rush (since there are people getting married way sooner than me and they should take priority). She emailed me back today and she sounded like a genuinely nice person. Let's hope she can fix the mess that Ivis did since it seems my wedding was booked for the gazebo when I asked for the beach... lol
  11. I remember seeing on the PDF with the wedding packages that said that you can make a kind of wedding registry where people can buy you things like the spa or tours, so I am not sure if they can use their credits for that.. Probably not. But my aunt just told me that just by being a member (like if you booked as a member or through a member) that you get 2 free tours whether have the $1500 credits or not.
  12. I foresaw something like this happening with my bridesmaids since they are all of different body types, heights and ages. So i gave them a swatch of the exact colour and a link to Alfred Angelo's website and told them to pick one lol. Up to them which one they pic, I just want them all in the same colour. But if you want them all with the same dress, tell them to watch 27 Dresses and see how it is not up to THEM to choose the dress, it is up to you. But that's just me.
  13. OMG! Just went through the whole thread and I gotta say, everyone looked AMAZING! Congrats!!!!! I sure can't wait to post mine
  14. Hi Speckles121. How much are you paying for PSAV services? Do you have a contact? Thanks a lot
  15. Hi Soon2bMrsT. How many hours is $1300 that Octavio quoted you for? I have a feeling I may have picked an expensive photographer lol opps
  16. MissKris6: When you book the reception (whether you pay or get it for free) it comes with tables and chairs. And unless you book a Colin Cowie wedding with reception, it does not come with decorations. So it is paying $200 per table (might as well get a Colin Cowie at this point) or get Zuniga
  17. Hey Ladies, I have a question: Do I NEED to have OOT bags? I'm asking because it's not like any of my guests haven't travelled before and, well, they should know what to bring. I find it more of a pain than anything. I've never been to a destination wedding so I don't know if I am expected to make them. HELP!
  18. This is what I don't get about MP, if you are a paying customer, wouldn't they do whatever it takes to make sure that you get what you want and, well, pay for it? I feel your pain. But I would call the main line (not her extension) and try to talk to someone else and see what they say (I find calling them is WAY more effective than emailing). Perhaps she said no because she is thinking full table set up? Why not ask them if you can book an area and have Zuniga decorate it or something (like just lights and chairs and a dance floor perhaps? Push for it, don't give up when they say no
  19. AMAZING!! Congratulations!!! thanks for sharing and wow you looked stunning!!
  20. I got a quote from Zuniga for a few things and it was $150 for MP, but that was before I told her about the "extra" stuff that I have in mind. I asked them for centre pieces (they do really nice ones actually) and then that i would give them lights, lanterns, table decorations, and napkins to set up. I am waiting on them to see what they say but she had said before that it would cost more than the $150 for transport and set up. Hope this helps
  21. Hello All: I have just been in contact with Katie from Zuñiga and she said as long as you purchase something from them (like they got better centre pieces than MP), and pay the set up fee, they will set up decorations for you. YAY! No $200/per table for me baby I have been reading the threads and thought I could share the good news! Thank you to who ever posted to contact them, saved my sanity and my pocket
  22. WOW. I am gone for 3 weeks and everything is changed: 1. I no longer know who my WC is because Ivis is gone and I haven't been contacted by anyone. 2. Now, apparently, I have to pay $200 to bring my own stuff. 3. MP has a "bad history" since there have been 2 deaths, 1 murder and a possible rape, and my family doesn't feel safe. 4. It seems I can't book my reception location in advanced unless I have guest numbers settled. This sucks. I do have a question. For the ladies booking with Mara floral, are they considered and "outside vendor"? Are they going to make me pay 2 room nights (same as the photographer) to get them to do the floral arrangements for the wedding? Sigh. I wanted a resort wedding because it seemed easy, but it just keeps getting harder and harder.
  23. Well, your wedding is in less than 3 months! Let me know how that goes and I might try it too . I have heard that some photographers were able to just buy a day pass before. Seems like the Palace Resorts are becoming quite a bit strict.
