To the recent brides - Did anyone travel on airtran? What did you do with your dress? I just got off the phone with Airtran and the rep said that they don't have a place on the plane where I can hang my dress except for maybe by the cockpit. I don't want to take that risk that I can't hang it up. My dress shop said that they would pack it in a carry-on suitcase, but that doesn't even sound possible. I'm honestly not sure that it would fit. I have also heard of brides laying their dresses flat in an overhead compartment, but I'm pretty sure we have a full flight and I know most people avoid baggage fees whenever they can. Do you ladies have any suggestions?

Congratulations! I hope your wedding is great! Have a safe and wonderful vacation too! Mrsbruff2b, Duckiedoo,Lurkerdan - They cannot force you to pay in advance. Just make sure that you communicate that you want everything charged to your room. Linda1972 - I'm so sorry to hear that this happened to you too. Unfortunately, that happened to us too and they did nothing but send us some crap email saying that they've never heard of something like this happening before, it wasn't their fault and they are sorry. It was complete BS! I'm not satisfied with the folks in the Miami office at all. I want to go above the weddings department and make sure that someone else knows that this is happening. Welcome back! I'm so glad to hear that you had a great wedding! Thanks for sharing that the rooms inside for the receptions are nice too.

Cancun Palace Wedding 2012- AMAZING (long with a lot of pictures)

Congratulations! I'm so glad to hear that you had the wedding of your dreams! Thank you for sharing with us. -
Congratulations Jamie! I hope that you have the wedding of your dreams! There were a couple of reviews from early this year where the couple used the dinner reservation for their reception. I can't remember the names exactly, but if you go to the Moon Palace reviews, you should be able to find them. I did ask my sales rep when I first started the process about what's allowed in the restaurant and they said that you can do the first dance & have toasts. I was told the only thing they don't allow is decorations. I believe one of the restaurants has a piano, but don't quote me on that. If you are having a cocktail hour, another option would be to do your first dance there. That's our backup plan if we end up not having a private reception. Side Note - It's great to see a groom so involved in the process. You are absolutely, without a doubt, welcome as the token male! Linda, what info are looking for? Some of the answers may be in the forum already or maybe we can share some info to help out. We have Joannis too and she does take a few days to get back to us, but she does eventually respond. It could be that because you're past your 30 day mark, she's no longer the main contact for your account. I think it switches to your on-site coordinator after that, but I can tell you we haven't heard from ours yet. In any case, post your questions here and maybe we can help. We also had that problem with the fraudulent credit card charges. I sent an email directly to the supervisor and got some crap response saying that they were sorry to hear it happened to us, but it wasn't their fault. It definitely didn't make me feel any better, but we're in the same position as you are being so close to our date. We can't cancel, but I did make it clear that I wasn't paying them anything else before we get to Mexico. I didn't get confirmation that they were okay with that, but I have not received any requests for payment since. If they do ask, I have some few choice words in response to them. It's just terrible that they lie this way and treat their customers like this! Maybe we can complain to the better business bureau or something. Side note: Our wedding is on June 24th and we get there on the 21st. Maybe I'll see you there. Smart move! Please make sure that you confirm that with your coordinator and any MP vendors as well. I made sure I got that in writing from each one. Congratulations Debra! I hope that you have a fabulous wedding as well! I would suggest that you get what you can done & in writing now. Based on what I've read and the info I've received from our coordinator, I can only imagine that the prices will go up from here. As long as you can get your date reserved, you should be able to pin down the 2012 pricing for your 2013 event now & get that in your contract. Some of the brides on here that started early were able to do the same thing and not get hit with the increases that happened after they signed their contracts.

Trash the Dress....yes or no???
AlmostMrsRJF replied to sojahseh81's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I wasn't going to do a TTD session initially. I keep thinking how could I destroy my dress?! After seeing all of the pictures and thinking it through, we're going to have one! I'm never going to wear the dress again, so why not make some unique memories for us to admire years later? I'm nervous because I'm not a good swimmer, but I'm also excited to have these photos! -
Please keep checking. There was 2 weeks between the lost fax & when the person tried to use the card. That's the same thing I thought too. Unfortunately, we can't cancel everything. Everyone else has already booked, but my Mom said that they need to give me something for my inconvenience. Krstabab143 - What response did you get from them? I get that they won't take the blame, but did they say anything else?

Just a warning for you ladies.... Be careful about sending your credit card info your miami contacts. I had to fax my over 2 weeks ago to pay for the wedding ceremony package. Joannis said she didn't get all of the pages (even though my fax confirmation showed that all were delivered) and the missing pages were the ones with our credit card info. I ended up having to resend it. Then last Friday we got a call from the credit card company that someone had tried to use our card in Florida. The credit card company fixed everything, but pissed doesn't even describe how I felt. I called and tried to get a supervisor, but she wasn't available. I did get her contact info and was told to send over a copy of the info we had on the charges in an email. I did that and copied Joannis and my sales rep, Michelle Farinas. I haven't heard back from Palace Resorts yet, but I will let you know what happens. Just be careful because clearly there's someone in that office that's not an honest person. Lucky for us, our credit card company caught everything the day that happened and that they cancelled the charges right away.

We arrive on June 21st. I'm embarrased to say I say an episode on Sunday. They didn't say anything about the wedding though. I'm also using SMILE Market, so I'll make sure I post a good review on them when I get back. Send me a PM with your email address and I can send you the price list that I received last month. Jamie, I'm sorry to hear you're still having drama. Focus on your happy thoughts You'll be fine and your wedding is going to be exactly what you want it to be! I can't wait to hear all about how wonderful it was when you get back! Happy travels!

I would email Zuniga directly. I am working with Katie and her email is [email protected]. She takes a couple of days to respond, so my suggestion would be to put your wedding date in the email. I was feeling frustrated about this too when I was 90 days out and hadn't been in touch with Joannis or my onsite coordinator. I asked Joannis about it when I did speak to her. She said that the onsite coordinators are often running around the resort putting on weddings all day so they don't have a lot of time to respond to emails. After reading the reviews from the other recent brides, they also confirmed that they bend over backwards for you at the resort so don't worry about it. You still have some time and technically, they aren't supposed to secure your locations until 90 days out. Joannis has been a lot better about responding me lately and I'm assuming that's because we're getting closer to the point where we have finalize things. I've been taking Coco's advice and sending a long list of questions at a time. It'll get better the closer you get. I hope this helps! Congratulations on the 5K!! The fact that you had time for that is amazing.

This looks like so much fun! Your blue wig reminds me of Kate Hudson's in Bride Wars. Very nice! Great question! I did read that on a few reviews, but I don't remember seeing the more recent brides comment. Thanks for sharing that the MP gives out brochures. I can take those items off of my welcome packet list.

Thanks to all of the recent brides who have posted pictures (I would quote them all but there's so many!!!), especially of your TTD sessions. You all look amazing! I'm now considering a TTD session for us too. Thanks also for the posts about paying for your upgrades. etc before you leave. Joannis told me that we had to pay in advance as well, so I'm glad to know that we really don't have to that. So yesterday, my future MIL threw me a surprise shower! I was absolutely surprised and blown away by the well wishes from everyone who attended. She invited her side of the family and since the majority of them will not be making the trip, it was so nice to get together with them before the wedding. I just felt so loved and was amazed at how they were welcoming me to the family. She made sure my Mom, Grandmother and Sister were there too! It was too cute! The funniest moment actually came from my grandmother. She was the only one that bought me lingerie! Lol! Go Grandma! 49 days until I'm a Mrs! That shower just made it so much more real! I hope you ladies all had a wonderful weekend of planning.

Congratulations and welcome back to the new Mrs! SummerDawn, Beatyea and Coco, you all look amazing in your pictures! I'm so excited to see more. Mwells, I love these bags! Did you get them online or at the store? Happy planning! I actually had a friend who is a graphic designer create my invitations and then we ordered them from Vistaprint. However, I know that there's a thread for the passport invites on here with instructions.

Congratulations! From the reviews I've read, I'm sure you have nothing to worry about and your wedding will be spectacular! Have fun! I agree! The fee is crazy. However, we're going to see if it makes more sense to use Zuniga instead of buying things and bringing them down there. I understand that they're prices are reasonable. Enjoy your bachelorette party! Your bags are really cute! Great idea about the propel and crystal light packs! I think everyone going will make good use out of those so I'm adding them to my list.
