  1. Hello Ladies! I was originally have problems as well trying to pick songs for each part of the wedding so I know how frustrating it may seem! Here is a list of the songs I chose. I put them on my ipod and handed it over the the wedding coordinator the day of the wedding and she takes care of changing the songs for you. They have their own microphone and speakers set up as well. Usually guests start seating no more than 30 minutes in advance. So I picked out 5 songs to play. I hope this helps! Prelude Because you loved me-celine dion Amazed-lonestar Everything I Do, I Do It For You- Bryan Adams The way I am-Ingrid Michaelson You and I-Michael Bubble Processional Can you feel the love tonight-elton john Bride entrance marry me-train Recessional I Do- 98 degrees During the reception I picked the 3 main dances and let the dj take care of the rest! He plays songs based on the type of crowed you have. He did a great job! First Dance Bless the Broken Road- Rascal Flatts Father-Daughter Dance you raise me up- josh groban Mother-Son Dance A Mother's Love by Jim Brickman
  2. The castaways is nice but just note it might get really hot! We were in the Bamboo room with AC and we all were sweating! Just something to think about :)Yes the waiter walks around and you can request drinks from them. They even started bringing drinks out to all the guests without asking. Most people didn't even drink too much during our reception because it goes by so quick (between the dances, speeches, eating, cake cutting and dancing)!!! We ended up going to the beach bar after for drinks.
  3. I had 45 people in the bamboo room. I sat the whole bridal party at a long table facing all of the guests (10 people). You can sit up to 10 people at a round table. I had 1 long table for bridal party and 4 round tables. It was perfect and had a nice space for dancing in the middle.
  4. Congrats! Now Jade is a wonderful resort. I just got married there a couple weeks ago so I know how busy Pilar is. It is their busy season for weddings so if you would like some questions answered you are best calling her directly. If not you should e-mail her. It has been taking her a while to answer e-mails though. Best of luck!
  5. I just got back recently from our wedding at the Now Jade. I worked with Wendy from Wright Travels as well and she was awesome! So sweet and extremely helpful! She took care of all of our guest bookings and was always on top of everything! Good luck!
  6. I think you miss understood me. I had chose the buffet dinner at the regular dinner restaurant (so this was not private) only for our rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. The other option is to pay $20 extra per person to have the private dinner at one of the restaurants. For the actually wedding reception I chose a set menu which I listed in my review and let my guests pick between 3 main entres. I think you need to have at least 50 guests to have a buffet dinner for your wedding reception and it costs the same as the set menu.
  7. For anyone going to Dos Ojos for a TTD session they charge $100 to take pictures. I had to sneak my dress in without them seeing but it worked! Just a heads up!
  8. Your welcome! Yes, the resort picked the officiant. I don't remember her name but she was really good. I was also worried about not being able to understand her but she spoke pretty well even with her accent she was very clear. She did a good job and said really nice words. She read some kind of poem as well it was kind of giving advice. Not sure if they all have a different way of doing things. I didn't want to risk putting the vases under the plane because I know how much they get tossed so I made each person bring on a carry on. I didn't really need to wrap them up because they didn't leave my sight and we were just careful handling them. Everything else I wasn't too worried about but I had collected bubble wrap and packaging materials for a while and wrapped some things with them. Everything ended up making it there safe except on little message in a bottle.

  12. Totally agree with you Kerri! I recently got married at the now jade and went with my own photographer and it was so worth it!
  13. I had two side floral arrangements that were included in the divine package as well.
  14. Hello Kerri! You looked amazing! Congrats! I am getting married next friday at the now jade Just have a couple quick questions. How was customs when coming into Mexico? How was the weather...it keeps saying rain! Did you tip the wedding coordinator? Thanks! Umi
  15. Where did you go for your TTD? I would like to go to a cenote the following day but am not sure which one to go to yet.
  16. Congrats KitKat!!!! I will be getting married there next Friday! How was your trip there? Did you have any issues with customs? I would love to read your review!
  17. Download the wedding guide off of the Now Jade website under the weddings section. It has all the prices there. The divine package only includes 25 people for cocktail/reception so each additional person you will have to pay extra for (prices are in that wedding guide). None of the packages include the DJ so that will be extra based on the amount of time you will need. Your bouquet, one centerpiece, 2 corsages and 2 boutonnieres are included in your package but any other flowers/decor is additional. Hope this helps!
  18. There is but I believe you need at least 50 guests in your group.
  19. It really depends on your contract. I went with Wright Travels and they ask for $100 deposit to book a room and then the remaining balance is due 60 days prior to your departure date which seems fare. I didn't want people waiting to book at the last minute so I had them RSVP to me 4 months in advance so that I had an idea of how many people we would have at our wedding....and trust me this was a BIG help! Because so many things depended on this number! I did my own decorations for the table, the seating chart, favors, welcome bags....the list goes on. Just things to be aware of.
  20. I am getting married in 2 weeks at the Now Jade. I had put the menu options on both our website and RSVP cards. From my experience not a single person RSVP on our website but that could be different depending on the guests I guess. The description of the meal is in the wedding package where it describes your choices. This is what I put.... Come fly with us! Please respond by the Fifth of February July 14 _____ Accept with pleasure _____ Decline with regret _____ Celebration BBQ M_____________________________________________ Please initial the entrée choice for each guest attending _____ Beef Fillet and Shrimp _____ Yellow Tail Tuna Steak _____ Penne Pasta with Vegetables * Please let us know of any food allergies Please book your rooms with our travel agent Wendy Hicks no later than February Fifth. For more wedding details please visit: www.BillandUmi.ourwedding.com Hope this helps!
  21. I am getting married in 2 weeks and have been e-mailing Pilar for several weeks now without a response! I am hoping everything is ok!
