  1. They do have a fire dance show on the resort once a week. You can also hire them for your wedding. I did not have them but I know of one other bride that did. I believe it was between $800-$1000. Sounds cool!
  2. I had mine on Friday and it turned out great! When you are away every day feels like a weekend! I would suggest getting married either on a thursday or friday for the people who don't want to take many work days. We had ours on Friday so it worked out perfect. Some people made a long weekend out of it but didn't need to take the whole week off. Seeing as it is a destination wedding people are going to have to take extra days off regardless so its not like a wedding back at home. Just a heads up....June is definately a high season for weddings but just remember there is a lot of rain in June! It rained on my wedding day but everything still turned out beautiful! Good luck!
  3. I had purchased clear glue which might work better for you.
  4. Thanks! Correct, I just assigned each person or couple to a table. Yes, they took their bottles to their tables. Only a few were left behind.
  5. Thanks! I brought the lashes and glue and they put it on for me. They may even have glue but I didn't ask.
  6. I never wear fake eyelashes but decided to do it for my wedding and I am so glad I did! I got a pair from Mac. Still looked natural but added some extra pop! Here is a picture!
  7. If there is no specific seating arrangement for the guests the servers will not know who gets what meal. For our seating I made messages in bottles with each of our guests name with the table number they will be sitting at as place cards. But if you are only having one big table I am not sure how that works.
  8. I totally agree! I recently got married in Riviera Maya as well. I used Wendy as our group travel agent and she did a FANTASTIC job! She was on top of things from beginning till the end! She was so sweet and easy to talk to. She answers your e-mails and phone calls right away and always has an answer for all of your questions! Our guests had nothing but nice things to say about her! She made things so much easier for us to focus on the wedding instead of having to help our guests with all of their questions and bookings! It is completely beneficial to you to book with Wright travel. You don't have to pay extra for their services and sometimes you even get money back with a group booking (in our case it paid for our whole wedding package)! Focus on your wedding and leave your travel bookings to the professionals! Good luck! Thanks again Wendy for all your hard work!
  9. I recently got married in Riviera Maya Mexico. I was so excited about doing our TTD. Originally I had brought a second dress but decided to wear my wedding dress instead....and I am so glad I did! Here are some pictures from my TTD.
  10. I took united airlines and did not have any problems what so ever. The most important breakable things I just took on the plane with me. We seriously had over 10 suitcases between all of us and not a single thing happened. I was freaking out at the time too but honestly there is nothing to worry about. If there are certain things that you can't go without just bring it on the plane with you. good luck!
  11. Secrets Maroma and Barcelo both have really nice beaches! We love the beach too but just like Kerri said....we didn't spend any time on the beach! Everyone hung out at the pool!
  12. I recently got married at the Now Jade and brought 8 suitcases filled with wedding stuff! I looked into shipping things but it was way too expensive so I just had some of my family members pack light and take some of our suitcases with them! It all worked out perfect! I even brought a whole bunch of vases on a carry on with me!
  13. Hello kkutnyak, I had mine in the bamboo room with 45 guests and I loved it! We also had the dj for our reception and I would highly recommend it. Everyone had a blast dancing and the dj was excellent!
  14. Yes they stayed the whole cocktail hour and for the beginning of our reception. She got our dances and the speeches. I had traded in the photographer for extra time with the videographer since I brought my own photographer. She actually started packing up after the cocktail hour and I had to stop her and let her know I had an extra hour with her! Thank God I caught her leaving! But the whole video turned out nice and it is something nice to show others who were not able to make it.
  15. If you get the wedding package your hair and makeup is included. Otherwise it is $59 for hair. The rehearsal itself only took 10 minutes if that. We had a dinner after the rehearsal which lasted about an hour.
  16. Hello Ladies, Thanks for such kind words! ashleyblayne: You can always start playing your song and just start walking once your part comes on. Otherwise I am not sure how you will work this out. Kerri: I would contact Pilar. You should have definitely gotten yours by now! My video was actually longer but for some reason the whole file didn't upload! My video was 35 minutes long. It had some of our guests speaking during the cocktail hour and it also had our first dances at the reception. Oh well... brgephar: our bridal dress can be ordered at many bridal shops. It is from the Bill Levkoff designer. Here is the link to the dress http://www.billlevkoff.com/style/bridesmaid-dress/157 we had the glacier color.
  17. For my bridal shower I received this frame set so I came up with this so far. I am also doing an album and want to do another wall collage but I needed something quick to put up for now. Not sure how I feel about the all black and whites. Any suggestions?
  18. I had brought my own photographer but decided to stick with the videographer from the resort. I think they did a pretty good job. Ours was 35 minutes long. It was nice watching the whole ceremony as a spectator for once! It brings back nice memories! Here is a link the our wedding video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c8h2jxq7dkfbmes/Umi%20%26%20William.mp4
  19. that is what I went with for my wedding as well. It rained on my wedding day so they moved the wedding out doors next to the bamboo and had the cocktail in the main lobby.
  20. yes I did split them up just so it was clear for the person playing the songs.
  21. Unfortunately June is a rainy month so hope for the best! I had my wedding on June 1 and it pored! It still turned out beautiful though. Best of luck!
  22. Hello Former Brides! I recently got married in Riviera Maya, Mexico and am deciding on what to do with all of my favorite professional pictures! I am thinking about doing a photo album and a wall collage. Post pictures of what you did with your wedding/ TTD pictures!
  23. Oh thats great! I guess it just depends on the night and how humid it is!
