  1. Do you need to give them your numbers of guests though? I don't have my final count yet ... I'd love to see the menu though! I wasn't going to worry about it until a couple months before the date, yikes! Now I might just have to email Omeshia. 2. Really?! My wedding is March 24, 2012 .... should I be asking my wedding coordinator Omeshia about this?
  3. This isn't exactly wedding related, but for those of you who have been to the GPJ/GPL, did you or any of your guests golf while there? I have a lot of golfers in my group and I am putting together an information package on nearby golf courses. But I'm wondering about how they will all get to the golf courses from the resort. I wonder what the best option is? If we can arrange a van or something, or if they all have to take taxis.... is that safe? and decently priced?

  6. I haven't actually put my stuff in suitcases, so I'm just ASSUMING it'll all fit! Our wedding is in Jamaica, so the airline only allows 2 checked bags per person (and you have to pay $20 for the second bag). So the PLAN is to pack the OOT stuff in 2 suitcases, pay the extra $20 each, and pray everything fits in 2 suitcases and that they don't weigh over the limit! I actually think I will be able to fit all my week's worth of clothes and wedding attire in one suitcase, but if need be, I can always get my mom to claim an extra suitcase and pay the $20 for her. I'm not too worried ..... hopefully I don't get a big suprise when I go to start packing!
  7. Yep! I got my sudoko/crossword books at Dollarama for $1 each. (They sure add a lot of weight to my OOT suitcase ... yikes!).
  8. Those are the kind of mugs I'm leaning towards! But I think I'm going to have them personalized.
  9. Just wanna say "ahhhh!!" your wedding is coming up so soon, i'm jealous! hehe. You could always take the party up to the Infinity Bar. It's very nice there and great for all ages, young and old. Or of course the Bob Marley disco. I'm also very curious to hear the verdict on how the servers know which guest ordered which meal...
  10. Manda123, I got my travel aloe from Walmart. I believe it is $2. But I've heard Superstore or Rexall has them for a bit cheaper.
  11. If anyone is including crossword puzzles, sudoku etc, make sure you also inclued a sharpened pencil or pen!
  12. I decided against including sunscreen in my OOT bags because I'm sure 99.9% of my guests will pack their own anyway, so a little travel sized sunscreen will be a waste, in my opinion. I never bring aloe vera to my beach holidays and then find myself wishing I had some on many occasions! So I'm including travel sized aloe vera in my OOT bags. And I often forget chapstick when I go on holidays and miss it so bad that I end up having to buy it wherever I am, so I am including SPF chapsticks as well Jacq, check out Bubba Kegs here: http://www.shopbubba.com/t-bulk.aspx They can personalize the mugs on orders of 48+. AquaCait, that is such a great idea about golf stuff!! I definitely have a bunch of golfers in my group who are excited to hit the Jamaican courses while we're there. I just might add some golf-themed items to their OOT bags now! Thanks for the idea
  13. Here's one with photos: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/70090/looking-for-help-with-hair-stylist-makeup-artist-etc-for-aug-20-2011-grand-palladium
  14. Oh and if you don't find shout wipes anywhere, I would suggest getting the individual packets of Tide. I think they're called "sink packs". Those I know are for sure at Walmart in the travel-sized section. I bought a ton! I think they're $2 for 3-packs.
  15. I'm in Edmonton and couldn't find individual meds anywhere. Ended up getting them at the dollar store in Phoenix, luckily. But I swear I saw individual Shout wipes at Walmart here in the travel-sized section?
  16. Those GP brides that were married on the beach - exactly what beach was it held on and specifically whereabouts on that beach? I've been to the resort before so hopefully I'll be able to picture where! And how close was your ceremony to actual beach-goers? I hope that they will respect our privacy and stay back, but I can't imagine being right next to a bunch of people in their bathing suits lounging in the sun haha.
  17. When do you settle the final bill? (Pay for the steel drum band, reception, ceremony)... is it all one one bill? It's just so much easier to ask you girls than wait for the WC to get back to me!
  18. Thanks for the replies girl! So they allowed you to se the tables up however you wanted? Was this something that you discussed with the WC at your initial meeting at the resort? I assumed if I made any requests like that, that I probably won't be able to count on it going as I wanted. I just imagined giving the WC my place cards and seating chart, and having it all mixed up or totally not how I wanted it. But I should probabyl have a little more faith hey! PS. What are escort cards?
  19. oooh, so the music you chose was music for the steel drum band? ah ok! I thought maybe it was music to play with the speakers/sound system.
  20. Me again!! I'm in wedding mode today lol. This time I'm wondering about the wristbands. Do you and your fiance have to wear the hideous wristbands on your wedding day?!!! I would die if we had to have them in our photos.
