We've chosen to be married at the Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado at Samana, on May 9, 2012. It will be our first time at that specific resort, but not at a Bahia Principe. In the past we've been to the Riu Bachata, Gran Ventana, Victoria Golf and Beach Resort, and the Bahia Principe San Juan. If you have any questions about these resorts, I'm more than willing to answer them, and have lots of pictures to share!

Wow, these turned out great, but seem like they take a lot of dedication. This would be a good way to pass the winter months before my May wedding!

Yes, I've seen the pictures. It would be nice if they could just send us the options via email so we'd know what we want to choose when we arrive! As for the ceremony, it's not that I don't want their ceremony- it's just that I've never seen it, and I don't know what would happen if I didn't like it when we got there and the wedding is only a few days away. I'll bring a sample of my ceremony ideas so that I can work on it there I guess. We also have a guest that I would like to have read a large part of the ceremony, so I wonder if that will be possible!

Well, at the very least I can give you some information after my wedding in May! I'm hoping to find out some more answers from the wedding coordinator, but I find that calling her is really expensive because I'm often on hold a lot, and there is also the language barrier. Specifically, I want to know whether we can choose our own ceremony, and also where and at what time the wedding will be! It would also be nice to know where the reception will be... Anyway, I'm trying to just go with the flow and realize that everything will all work out once we get there!

Jayney, Have you had any luck with setting a specific time of day and location with the wedding coordinator? I haven't managed to get past booking the date for the wedding. I still have a lot of questions, but don't seem to be getting any answers from her! Just wondering what your experience has been.

Hi Mynda, glad to hear that you had your dream wedding!! Are you going to do a review of the resort at some point? As for questions I was wondering: (a) Did you do most of the wedding organization once you arrived at the resort (i.e. choosing cake, flowers, decorations, etc.)? ( Were you able to create your own ceremony for the judge to read? © Where was your reception dinner? Do they let you use one of the a la carte restaurants? Or just block off an area of one of the restaurants for the group? Sorry for so many questions but I find it hard to get information from the wedding coordinator at the resort! Our date is May 9, 2012, so I guess it's not a rush!
