  1. We got the OK from our wedding coordinator at RIU PALACE PUNTA CANA, yay! My FI and I lit one up a few weeks ago in front of my bridesmaid's they were so impressed and said we HAVE to have them at our wedding. We were able to easily light one with only 2 people so I think we'll get one lantern for every couple or group of 3. Ebay seems to have a good selection.
  2. No I haven't looked too seriously for them yet. I definitely will check it out though! Thanks.
  3. Hello, looking for luggage tags, preferably clear plastic or tropical colors that will hold a business sized card. If you have any extra, or would like to split on an order please let me know. I need about 40 of them, and I do have a Michigan shipping address available if needed.
  4. Thanks ladies! The flowers with the jewels in the middle are from Michaels, I think they were about $6 but I had the 40% off coupon. I kept one think I may make some kind of head piece out of it. The other flowers with the pearl in the middle are from Ardene, bought as part of the 5 for $10 promotion ( 2 flowers per package ). They had a bobby pin glued to the back. I just used my curling wand, that I use for my hair, and held the hot wand against the back until it melted the glue, then just slid the pin out. They worked out to be much cheaper than the Michaels flowers, and just as pretty!
  5. So, I finally finished all 7 hangers. It was a fun project so I may continue making them for friend and family bridal showers in the future. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/160338/width/500/height/1000[/img] 2bmrstremblay, I'm glad you're giving it a try! Make sure to post some pictures of the final product. Here is a close up picture of the letter 'd' http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/160334/width/350/height/700[/img] I've run out of wire but I'll show you the steps to make the letter d on an ipod cord. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/160335/width/350/height/700[/img] First wrap the wire around a round object, I used a Lipgloss (which I also used for the other letters requiring circles - a,b,d,e,g,o,p) from back to front. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/160336/width/350/height/700[/img] Then pull the wire upwards http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/160337/width/350/height/700[/img] And bend it back down, again from back to front. I'm sorry, I don't know how to make a capital T, the main issue is that the top of the T starts at the top rather than the bottom, making your wire/words lopsided. If you have to use a T, I would suggest using all lower case letters. If you have any more questions please let me know. I hope this helps.
  6. I checked out Venus veils, the prices are very reasonable. I'm still going to give a go at making my own, but if it doesn't turn out I'll just buy from VV.
  7. We still haven't even booked anything yet. I think we'll need to get 2 group rates one departing from Toronto and the other from Detroit. I also want to make sure we get the price drop guarantee. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm starting to feel the crunch to book.
  8. Thanks everyone, we sure did have a lot of fun during both sessions.
  9. Our second session was with a friend of Tom's. Thanks Knight Image Photography!
  10. Tom and I were lucky enough to have 2 engagement photo sessions. Tom's cousin who is just starting to get into photography took our first shoot. We chose to have this session at a local bowling alley that my fiancé and I go to often. Thanks Big Mode Media!!
  11. For those of you that still have STDs, invites, or thank you cards to mail out, Rexall has 5% off canadian stamps July 13th - 19th. And 4$ off + 2 bonus air miles on banana boat and Hawaiian tropic sun care products.
  12. Also, if you buy something from Michaels you'll get a 40% off coupon printed with your receipt.
  13. Thanks guys, I thought I'd at least give it a try... If it doesn't turn out then I've only spent less than 8 on supplies...
  14. Wow, lots of good info. I'm hoping to see some of your wedding photos too!
  15. Hey ladies, I just can't bring myself to pay $100+ for a veil, so I'm going to try to make my own. My goal is a single tiered, elbow/waist length veil with a beaded edge like the one I tried on with my dress. So, I've been to FabricLand and bought 1 yard of tulle for $5, I got a plastic comb at Ardene as part of their 5 for $10 promotion, and I already have beads, rhinestones, and fabric glue at home. Now I'm trying to figure out what type of beading to do around the edge, what do you guys think, here are a few options. I chose to glue the beads because I tried sewing them on and it looked horrible! I'll post some more pictures as I go.
