  1. I'm paying for my own dress and wedding. Right now, I'm more financially stable than my parents (who are divorced). Even if that wasn't true, I don't think my dad would pitch in... I don't think it would occur to him! My FI and I have been together for almost 15 years so I think he just thinks of us married already! We've gone to Sandals or Beaches almost yearly for awhile so to him it's like we are going on just another vacation! I think my mom would help if she could though. Unless I'd specifically spoken to my parents I don't think I would expect them to help.
  2. Hello! We are getting married (finally lol) August 10, 2011 at 4pm (as of right now) at Beaches T&C! I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now and this site is amazing! It's just going to be me, him, and daughter but it is fun to read about everyones planning!!
  3. I am debating about this also, but I think I am going to get a video. We are getting married at Beaches T&C so we have to use their videographer. We are not having anyone (except our daughter) so we want something to show interested family members. It seems expensive, but I'm thinking that the actual ceremony and such will fly by and be such a whirlwind that I'll not remember anything! I think later I would regret it if I didn't get one...
  4. Lol. I love the disclaimer about not wearing it outside of the house! I can absolutely see myself Putting it on after the wedding for a little mood boost!
  5. I attended a wedding/reception where the invitations said something like, "The pleasure of your company to celebrate our special day is the only gift desired." My guy and I have been together for almost 15 years and really don't need anything! I was thinking of including that on the AHR invites and wedding announcements. I'd like the wording to be a little softer though... thoughts?
