  1. It is almost here!!!! Good luck to you both! Quote: Originally Posted by atalanta Ladies, Two weeks from now, I will be stepping into my dress. Aaaaaaaaaaaaah! We leave next week! So much still to get done! I'll check in before I leave. Good luck everyone!
  2. I feel the same way. We leave 4 weeks from today, and I am so excited to be down there. I feel like at times I have things under control, but there is just so much stuff and little details. Yes, most of those details are self-imposed so I can't really complain too much... LOL I am just worried that I am going to forget things at home and then be disappointed that I don't have something. I know on the wedding day I won't care anymore. I have so many checklists so that I hopefully don't forget anything. There are just so many things going on, and the delay in getting vendors to return emails and answer questions is a challenge too.
  3. Love it all!!! You are going to have some fabulous pictures with your guests. Maybe the UPS/FedEx store has large flat boxes that you could package everything in to ship. I wish I could do things like this, but we have to take everything with us, and I don't think that would make it in our checked luggage...
  4. We leave in 5 weeks... yaaaaayy!!! I wish it was today, but I guess I'll have to be patient and wait 5 more weeks. Many things feel like they are falling into place and others just seem like a waiting game for responses. I know it will all work out in the end, I just wish I could get some firm answers on things. How is everyone doing and any last minute stuff people are working on?
  5. I have this question in to Nicole and Tiffany at the Suites, but I will probably get a quicker response here... I have all of my notarized paperwork ready to go. Could any past brides or upcoming brides give me the address and how you addressed the package with all of your paperwork that you sent to the Suites? I know there have been some issues with things getting lost in the past, so I just want to make sure that I fill out the UPS information the correct way. I was going to just use what is in Nicole and Tiffany's signature of their email, but I'll feel better making sure there isn't another address that I should be using. Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the offer!!! Oh and congratulations!!! I wish there was something you could help with. When you get closer to your wedding, you will fill out a 'details form' that breaks down all of the details of the day and the activities around your wedding. It is those confirmations of restaurant locations and activities that we are waiting to officially confirm with the resort. The waiting game is torture, but I know it will all work out and be wonderful in the end! Just need to keep reminding myself that...
  7. Yeah, the lack of quick response didn't really bother me over the last year plus, but now that we are under 50 days to go I am a little more impatient. 3 weeks is just a long time to wait. I don't mind picking the cake and finalizing set-up once I get down there, but I would really like to at least confirm the restaurant locations and the beach party. I want to print my final wedding activities cards for our guests and can't do that until she confirms it all. Maybe they only point out what we can't do when we send the details form in, and we should take the lack of response as a green light to everything else...
  8. wow Atalanta... you are so close. Everything sounds so great. If it makes you feel any better, I am missing 25 response cards. I didn't make any effort to track them down, I am just going with the notion that they are not going. Since our resort is sold out, I figure no one will be coming last minute. But really... 25 people couldn't send back a pre-addressed, pre-stamped post card. I have seen that some brides get the sparklers down in their checked luggage, but I would be so nervous the whole time. That is a crazy amount of money for the sparkler to burn for about 30 seconds. I love the sky lanterns and we thought of doing them, but I already have too much stuff to take. So we aren't going to do any sort of send off. More a fade into the sunset at the end of the night... LOL.
  9. haha... yeah, my FI insisted on A/C. We are having a private dinner in Calabash. At least that is what I filled out on my details form. Hopefully there are no hiccups with that plan. Are you doing a rehearsal / welcome dinner another night? We are going to use the Mexican restaurant for a welcome dinner the night before the wedding. Hopefully the bride that night has chosen another restaurant or we'll be finding somewhere else to eat.. LOL I'm anxious to hear back from Nicole or Tiffany to get the big details confirmed... restaurants, bonfire, beach party, etc. How long did it take to get answers and your proposed bill once you submitted the details form to them?
  10. That is definitely disappointing!!!! I have heard Aunt Ruby's is not unbearable at night with the ocean breeze. I contemplated having our reception at the steakhouse, but decided I didn't want to take decorations with me. My FI is already not happy about the piles of stuff that need to go... Nicole and Tiffany must be catching up on emails today because I finally heard back from them as well. Still no response to all the questions in my details form, but at least a response saying they are working on it. We'll see how long until they respond with any bad news about what I want to do...
  11. 58 days for us to the wedding and 54 until we leave. I completely agree that time is flying. Also that the list is growing faster than I can cross things off. I need to get my packing list under control. I don't even have clothing on the list yet and I might need a u-haul to load into the plane to get us there.
  12. hahaha... it's okay. I get stressed whenever anyone mentions how close it is. I feel much better after this weekend though and my FI finally picking out the guys attire. We got a couple of them measured, so hopefully we'll get that done and be able to order next weekend. A couple more details and then hopefully we can relax and enjoy the time until we are in Jamaica.
  13. Great attitude, and in the end it all worked out!! Stressful and irritating in the moment though. Things are coming together! Still have a couple of projects left. I am working on my details form now and hoping to get that off to the Suites next week. Then I'll feel better that all of the plans in my head are now passed off to the resort. Hopefully they don't find any problems with what I want to do.
  14. Wow... 2 months!!!!! That stresses me out and I still have 2 and a 1/2 months... I am pulling together the last pieces for our welcome bags, and we are working on the guys attire. I am finalizing the flowers too, so they will be finished and shipped soon. So much to do, but it will be here before we know it. I can't wait!!!!!
  15. Congratulations and welcome!!!! Love the broom; you did a great job! What other projects are you working on.
  16. Wow... that is a huge DIY project. At least it sounds huge in my head. I bet they will all be great. I can't wait to see all your hard work. I am with you on the RSVPs. Mine are due May 1st, and I am missing about 1/3 of them. I don't usually mail RSVPs back immediately, but I definitely get them back before they are due. I can see a couple of stragglers, but this is crazy the number that we are still waiting for. Good luck tracking everyone down! I haven't decided if I am going to follow up, or just assume that they aren't coming.
  17. I think I am getting ready to start some of my painting projects. The weather has gotten nice here, so I can paint outside. I need to paint my sandboxes for the place cards, my table numbers, and then the flower princess baskets. Hopefully one of these weekends I can get that all done and cross everything off my list. How about you Atalanta, what is at the top of your list?
  18. I am using one of their associates, Ronald. I filled out the form and then Paula and I emailed back and forth. She was very responsive and answered all of my questions. Now when I booked last year, she did tell me that she was home in TX at the time. She had said that if I don't receive a response timely, they are probably in Jamaica and internet is spotty. February seems like a long time with no response though. Not sure if this helps at all, but good luck and I hope you are able to get in touch with them.
  19. Congratulations!!!! It is so exciting when people book. Share away, I love getting exciting for everyone!
  20. Whoopss... I forgot the weekend part of my twin comment. I haven't come across anyone yet with my date, so I am considering the whole weekend as part of the celebration.... LOL
  21. Hi Date Twin!!! Congratulations! I completely agree, I am so ready for it to be here. I have been trying to knock things off my list as best I can and move on to the next. I am working on shoes now so that I am ready to start my alterations. I am also trying to finalize my jewelry and bridal parties jewelry. Hopefully these will be done soon and then on to the next thing. I can't wait!!!!
  22. OMG jamieirene... that is horrible that they closed the resort. I can't even imagine that stress!!! So glad that you have a new location and hopefully are back on track in your planning.
  23. Great idea Atalanta in adding the list in! I can't believe some of you are about to hit the 3 month mark. Time is really flying. We are all going to be sitting on the beach in no time!
  24. My resort doesn't charge for kids under 12 in the wedding package and I didn't want to have to pay for 15 and 17 year olds in my private reception's open bar, so I took it one step further in my RSVPs... ___ Yes, our passports are ready. ____ Adults (18 and over) ____ Teenagers (ages 13 to 17) ____ Children (12 and under) ___ No, we sunburn easily. This might have been overkill, but I just tried to make it as easy as possible for myself.
