I've been to Punta Cana in October/November three times. Although it can be a bit humid (hence the tropics) Its beautiful weather. If it rains, its 15 mins and at night. Its a great place.

So i'm up to 44 people, coming from Toronto and Montreal. I get a phone call from the travel agent telling me that the Toronto plane is basically full and the Montreal Plane is getting there.. i have 25 people "floating" with maybes... insane. Just venting!

 Actually, i added turquoise diamond confetti to the bottom, Took out the shells as suggested and put it around. Found these tealights that are the perfect color at the dollar store of all places. My FI, constructed a lighted base for the vases.. it turns out so pretty I will post another pic when i have the time, but thank you all for the advice. REALLY, i needed someone to tell me what was wrong with it. I'm going to have to ship this stuff ahead of time for sure at this rate.  Â

My mom is doing fine and better all the time! At least we still have her around  I took the free package, so when i was comparing dollar to dollar, you get much more with HDC than you do with the resort photographer. And my Fiancee is terribly snooty with photography (he's a amateur himself) so it was a better choice then when he saw the comparison. He even contacted Arnaud by phone and talked to him to feel confortable.  Thanks about the centerpieces, i'm getting "you have to have centerpieces you can bring home" from my family. We usually have some little game and whoever wins at the table get it. The only problem really will be the vases... i may ship them ahad of time, or just stuff underwear and stuff so i have room in my luggage.  Gosh, just the thought of everything that I have to bring lol... all my "great little ideas"... i'm going to need another luggage. The Fiancee wanted water guns in our welcome bags for the men, so i found some yesterday at Maxi 2 for .94 cents. Its going to be interesting lets just say.

On another note, just heard my dress is in from David's Bridal. A little in shock because they said 12 weeks, and its only taken 3, wow... so next week i pick it up!!!! CRAZY. Â ALSO, i've been wracking my brain for centerpieces that I could bring with me. I put this one together (i'd have to bring it down in pieces) We plan to get submersible lights to light up the bottom in the water. Â But comments please .. Â Â Â Â Â

As far I know, the cocktail hour is on the pier, but not sure that I confirmed that lol, considering I micro manage everything that comes to a shock. (i will have to confirm). I've rented out the SSG, Originally I wanted to do the beach, but my mother suffered from a stroke last year and she can't walk in beach areas. I didn't want to bring attention to it either. Also I wanted air conditioning, so the whole SSG is mine that evening. If I had to choose another area outside it would have been the SSG outside, its really beautiful. But again, i didn't even consider the beach because of my mom, and she will be there partying all night! Â GEM yes, i'm not sure I said thank you for sharing, I got really excited again by the whole thing!. I'm actually considering that maybe on another evening before the wedding I will have the bonfire for my guests as something different. It looked like you had a blast. Â As for writing to the WP, I find that yes or no answers are the best as I think they are really busy and need to zoom through emails. I'm glad that format helped!!!! Â

Hey there hustyg, Â I had the same issue about the ceremony, but they offered me three o'clock instead of 5 and I took it. They warned me it may be a little warm but I feel better because I have time for pictures. In the end I decided to have a cocktail hour and I made it at 4:30 so that by six we would head over to the SSG where my reception is. This will hopefully let the whole ceremony to reception flow easily. I too was worried about the decor and such, at least its the bride after me that has to worry about it now.. Â As for HDC, I have the pricing at home (at work just checking in) but I can't remember what email address it IS in (i have about 5 with work!) and can email it to you if you wish. Or i'll post it later.. been a crazy week. My email is [email protected] if you want to send me a gentle reminder!! Â

I can email you the pictures that were sent to me. Tiara didn't tell me that there was a cost. Just in case i've looked at ebay for tule ones that are reasonable. haven't bought them yet as I'm still not sure how many guests. I'm ok with the regular chairs, and i can add this last minute... Â Â Â

And it was a nice reminder that everything would turn out great..

i agree, i may cancel the dj, but keeping it booked for now. I guess the price didn't freak me out because i did almost all the work to have a wedding here at home and the dj was much more expensive. I am bringing my phillips travel one regardless, for after or during the week.

I know another bride rented a speaker (it cost around 14$ for the week) and it worked. I have a phillips ipod dock, just not sure if it will be loud enough. I decided on the dj just so i didn't have to break my head. I have a very loud group that will make their requests... poor dj won't have a choice but to play our music, Â

Sick of hearing from me yet?? lol  I chose HDC, because of their portfolio. Their package is a better one than offered from the resort (i was also worried about cheesy resort photos) If you email them off the site, they are quick to respond. Not an official reply. You can bring your own speaker system (some of the brides have on this forum) or you "rent" the equipment for 250$ Since a DJ is the same price, I'm bringing down my IPOD, with my wedding playlist. I filled out a questionnaire with Tiara with the important songs (first dance, father/daughter, etc) including my processional music (i'm walking down the aisle to Elvis) I am bringing a Ipod dock incase for later, the SSG closes at 11 but other brides were able to continue the party on the deck. Â
