  1. Hi Ladies! I cannot believe I will be married in only 20 days, and 17 days until we leave! AHH! Anyways...has anyone booked or considered booking a private car transfer from the airport? Just trying to figure-out if it would be worth it. Since this is our honeymoon, I'm trying to make the trip as nice as possible, without spending too much $$. I just think it may be nice to have a private car pick us up (hopefully with a bottle of champagne, too!) Suggestions? Opinions?
  2. Hello and welcome to our thread! There's so much useful information on here, and all of the ladies are very helpful! I am doing the Beautiful Beginnings package in order to save $$. I am having 10 guests as well. I think the ocean and tropical landscape of the resort will make the pictures look fantastic, so I will not be upgrading my package. Happy Planning!!
  3. Wow! It's so exciting to see that list grow! Brandy- I bet you're so excited- you're next!!
  4. Yes, we made copies of everything and then had the copies notarized. You don't want your originals to be notarized. 5. Thanks for the great review, Misti!! Your pics are beautiful!! Sorry to hear about the luggage issue. I have flown AA twice, one of those being to the Caribbean, and have never had a problem w/ my luggage. But, I will definitely be packing all of the necessities in my carry-on bag!!
  6. Hi Phil and Erin! And welcome!! I have heard GREAT things about both resorts! I have a friend that got married at Sandals Grande St Lucian, and she loved it! One great thing that she liked was that the fact that her guests could stay at one of the other 2 Sandals resorts in St Lucia and still attend their wedding and they woulnd't be too far. Another good thing about St Lucia is their excursions- they have many more to choose from than T&C. I am getting married at Beaches T&C. We chose that resort b/c there will be children at our wedding and we wanted to be able to accodomate them. Another thing we loved about Beaches T&C is they have a water park, and the resort is huge! So although they do not have quite as many excursions, the resort itself is enough to entertain everyone. I've heard that T&C has the most beautiful beaches and water in the Caribbean. Ultimately, it just depends on what you want the most. I think both resorts would be fabulous!! I hope this helps a little!!! :-)
  7. I am getting married at 11am on May 21st!! We might have the cermeony in a gazebo and the reception on the covered boardwalk, but we won't make the final decision until we arrive and meet w/ the wedding coordinator.
  8. Thanks Krys! I may bring a reception dress, just in case I want to change. But from what you told me about not having A/C and the constant island breeze, I think I'll probably be ok in my wedding dress. Thanks again for the info!! :-)
  9. Question for my fellow brides, and Krys! My wedding is at 11am on 5/21, and we're having a 1 hour cocktail reception afterwards. I am thinking about bringing a small white dress for the reception to avoid getting too hot in my wedding dress. Is anyone else bringing a "reception dress"? Will it get THAT hot, considering it's an island and I am sure there's a constant breeze?? I know the temps are typically in the mid to upper 80's in May in T&C, but I live in Florida and it's always humid in the summer and I cannot imagine wearing a wedding dress in the heat for more than 30-45 minutes. Comments?? Suggestions?? Thanks!!
  10. Hi Lizzdee- Not sure if this helps, but I had my TA create a 2-page brochure including resort info, pictures, and prices; I mailed it out with our Save the Dates. Let me know if you'd like me to email the brochure to you! As far as my invites, I used basic wedding invitation verbage, and listed the location as "Beaches Resort Villages and Spa, Turks and Caicos", and since I sent out the brochure a few months prior, everything made sense to all of our guests.
  11. I forgot to mention that sometimes people will post pics with their reviews, including pictures of their rooms. But if they don't have a pic posted, send them a message and ask if they can email some room pics to you.
  12. Hey Urmysunshine, I read the reviews for Beaches T&C on Trip Advisor all the time. Sometimes, the person giving the review will mention which room category they stayed in. When you find a review from someone who stayed in the category you're looking for, send them a message through Trip Advisor and inquire about the room. You'll have to create a profile on Trip Advisor (I think), but it's simple. I hope this helps!!
  13. Great info, Jordana! Thanks for re-confirming that we can still book anything we want once we arrive and meet with the actual wedding coordinator! What a relief!!
  14. That is the vendor I am going to use for my real-touch flowers. The lady has been great to work with so far and is very responsive. She is going to re-create the bouquet in the Flutter of Romance package for about $100 - $115. The cost at the resort would have been over $250 (I am going w/ the BB package and the bouquet in Flutter of Romance would have been an upgrade).
  15. I am going to have a 1 hour private cocktail reception after the ceremony. I am not sure where exactly we're going to have the ceremony; I love the beach, but the gazebos offer more shade. I probably won't decide until I get there. I think we're going to have the cocktail reception along the boardwalk, right by the beach. Good luck with your planning! Let me know if you have any questions- I've been researching this stuff for months now!
  16. Hi JuanitaD! I am getting married on 5/21/2011 also, at 11am! Maybe we will run into each other on our big day! Are you having a reception afterwards?
  17. Hello! We'll be staying in the Parrot Cay 1 Bdrm Honeymoon suite in the Caribbean Village. I've seen some photos of the room, and it looks nice and spacious, and I love the fact that it's so close to the beach. All of our guests are staying in the cheapest rooms in the Caribbean Village.
  18. Hi Ceproto! I LOVE your centerpieces! Very "beachy" yet still elegant for a wedding. Very nice, and thanks for sharing!!
  19. Hi Ladies! I am doing the BB package, but don't want the standard bouquet. My TA gave me quotes on upgrading my bouquet- between $250-350, and that's just for my bridal bouquet! So, I decided to go with a real-touch bouquet, and have found a reputable vendor (wedideas.com). They are going to replicate the exact bouquet I want (dark and light pink roses) for about $100-115... I absolutely love real flowers, but I just cannot imagine paying an extra couple hundred bucks, just for my bouquet.
  20. So how are you all going to distribute the bags? I am thinking I might have to pack a small suitcase just to travel with them, which is fine. I'd like to give mine out the first day or two so everyone can use them throughout the entire trip (we arrive on Wed, getting married on that Sat), and I'm guessing the onsite WC will provide us with a list of all our guests' room numbers. Does anyone have those details worked out yet? Thanks!!
  21. Where did you get the actual bags? Or did you make them? They look GREAT!!
  22. I LOVE YouTube! I have seen a few other videos on there about Beaches T&C...it's such a great resource! There are a few promo vidoes and some other videos that some previous guests have posted.
  23. Here's how I picked Beaches T&C- It took us a while to decide exactly how we wanted to get married. We considered doing a small traditional wedding, but the cost was too high (neither of our parents are able to pay for the wedding). Then we thought about getting married on a cruise, but we didn't want to be stuck on a cruise-ship with our families while we're on our honeymoon. So, after about 6 months of researching, we both agreed that a destination wedding was the way to go; we just needed to choose the place! I did NOT want to go to Mexico, no matter how cheap it is. We originally wanted to go to Sandals Grande Antigua, but then we found out that some of our family members w/ children were planning to go to our wedding (and they would not be able to stay at Sandals). Being that Beaches Turks and Caicos was our second choice, we decided to get married there. I LOVE that the resort has sooo many different restaurants to choose from, as well as a lazy river and water slides. We're going to be staying for 8 nights, and if it were any other resort, I'd be afraid we'd be bored by day 4 or 5, but I am sure we will always find something fun to do or a different place to eat every day! And most importantly, I cannot wait to see their GORGEOUS white sand beach and clear-blue water!! I am SOOO glad we chose Beaches T&C...we cannot wait!!!! :-)
