  1. Beautiful dress!! Perfect for a destination wedding! congats!
  2. I used Citalli from Claudia Photo and she was fantastic! I posted a review for her under the vendor section. More expensive but very outside of the box kind of pictures. I thought a few looked like magazine covers. I don't know how they do that but she was fantastic. Claudia Photo books up very early so best to make a decision quickly!
  3. I just emailed my Lomas Travel coordinater exactly what I wanted. For bouquets and the cake, I sent her pictures of what I liked and she provided me quotes of what it would cost. That was much easier than trying to see the pictures online. They also took my bouquets and matched hanging bouquets and table bouquets to it. They did an excellent job.
  4. when is your wedding? I'm not sure where Salon Dorado is. Is that in the main building?
  5. I booked Citlalli with Claudi Photo for 5 hours and she came and hour before the ceremony and stayed through the first dance of the reception. I wish I had booked her for another hour to capture more of the reception after people started dancing, etc. (once the booze was properly flowing). The random pics people took were great but some great professional shots would have been nice.
  6. Ours was "These Are The Days" by Van Morrison down in Mexico and our song for the AHR will be "True Companion" by Marc Cohn. This was a photo during our first dance. Love it!
  7. I was told that you are the most fertile the first 3 months after the pill and then goes down a bit from there. I just went off the pill 2 weeks ago so I'm hoping that fertility is true! I'm 38 so hoping there are still some eggs left. :-) I also bought the ovulation testers because if your not ovulating, then no chance you can have a baby - plus it narrows down your optimal time for you. Good luck everyone!!!
  8. I just posted my review of El Dorado Royale and my wedding in the vendor section for El Dorado Royale Casitas. I'm not sure how to link it. Its a very long review with a number of pictures. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions for your upcoming wedding! I know how much I utilized this site and was always happy to see when some new information came out!
  9. Go online to the Lomas Travel site and on the wedding page there is a Chat Live option. Get on there and ask for you WC, they will transfer you and you can talk to her instantly. That always worked best for me when I started to get impatient.
  10. She's totally worth it! And spoke perfect english which really helped the process. The day goes so quickly and turns into a giant blur. The only thing you have to remember the details from are the pictures so its worth it to spend a little extra. Good luck!!
  11. I used Citlali and she was fantastic but I think there are several other photographers from Claudia Photo who do similiar styles. If you like that look, check into who is available on your date and check out their online gallery. I thought several of them had the same style.
  12. I will say that I love the 3rd dress myself. I actually tried it on for my wedding and while I didn't ultimately go with it, it was my 2nd choice. Its so beautiful. And it looks gorgeous on you!
  13. Oh thanks for posting! I've been trying to figure out how to put together my own photo booth for our AHR and save costs at the same time. We plan on doing lots of props for costumes to spice up the photos as we we will have alot of elderly guests coming. We did this at our Destination wedding with a poloroid camera and it was so cute to see the older folks having fun with the costumes! We are also going to let guests take 1 picture home as a favor and 1 picture will post to the guest book. Thanks again for posting this! Would love to see some more photo booth ideas!
  14. That is gorgeous!!! And nothing wrong with a bargain bride, especially if you get everything you want!
  15. Thank you!! It is Saison Blanche. www.saisonblanche.com In the boutique gallery. It was an amazing fitting dress and very true to size.
  16. So many beautiful dresses on here!! Here is mine from my wedding 3 weeks ago. Love love loved my dress.
  17. We used DJ Doremixx and he was fantastic and still cheaper than the Lomas guys with the vendor fee. For the ceremony, the hotel provided an ipod station at no additional charge and we provided an ipod with the ceremony songs on it. The WC handled the move from song to song so no one from the wedding had to worry about it. I do wish that they would have allowed the songs to play through longer but they pretty much rushed them. Once people were down the aisle, they moved on to the next song quickly. I wish I would have told them to play it out. Needless to say, the ceremony was over very quickly. Our legal ceremony lasted longer - which was disappointing. But to answer your question - no add'l fee for the ipod station at the ceremony.
  18. Also you should know - for flowers or the cake - you can send you Lomas wedding coordinator pictures of what you like and they will obtain a quote and let you know if they can do it for you. I sent pictues of the bouquets and they were almost spot on. I also sent pictures of a cake and while it was a little off (they made it pink frosting rather than white), it was still beautiful. I was very happy with the work that was done. And I had my bouquet and all the flowers from the tables and gazebo placed in our room after the reception and it made our room smell fantastic for the entire next week.
  19. here are a couple of other ceremony locations..... Has anyone used their DJ or Hair/Makeup vendors? Any other feedback or advice would GREATLY be appreciated from someone who previously got married at a Karisma property. We are considering using outside vendors as we can't seem to get enough information or a good feel of the vendors that are provided. We are hoping that someone out there can either vouch for EDR's vendors or recommend others. We did a site visit last April to pick the resort and fell in love with Gazebo 55 for the ceremony and Tucanes for the reception. Unfortunately, we found out last summer that both of those locations were booked by another wedding for that night As a newbie, I can't wait to hear from other brave destination brides/grooms. Please help. Thank you, thank you!!
  20. I just got married there a few weeks ago and like you, was not impressed with the information I received on their DJ services and therefore hired an outside DJ and he was fantastic and it was still cheaper to use him than use the resort. DJ Doremixx charged us $800 and I had to pay the $500 vendor fee and that was still less than the $1500 the resort was going to charge. HIghly recommend him. He's a little tough to respond via email but he eventually does and he did a great job and even brought balloons, masks and other props for the guests to have fun with. I used the Casita Spa for my hair and make up and Adrienne did a fantastic job on both. Everyone loved my hair and make-up. I did a dress rehearsal of it a couple days before so I knew exactly what I was getting. I will tell you this - if Tucanes is already booked, you may have a hard time finding a reception location big enough to handle your party unless you choose the beach. I had 40 people and we had to go with the Health Bar for our reception (Tucanes booked) and we could not have squeezed any more in. As far as I know, Health Bar was the next largest location outside of the beach. Can you consider moving your date by 1 day? Regarding photographers - I used Claudia Rodriguez and they were fantastic. Highly recommend. I haven't received my pictures yet but they were easy to work with. Only recommendation I have is if you want any specific poses, tell them in advance (so you don't forget). I wanted some really fun specific shots and completely spaced it out during the shoot due to the excitement. Other big gripe - the restaurants were not very accomodating to large dinner groups (anything greater than 6 was a HUGE issue). If you can use your free dinner option for any other night - I would take it so you can get a large reservation. Anytime we tried to get 6 or more, the service quickly deteriorated and was almost rude. Very disappointing for a resort catering to weddings.
  21. Just got married at Gazebo 55 on Saturday and it was beautiful! They did a wonderful job. I will post a full review at a later time when we have pictures but wanted to let all future jobs what a great job was done. Only a few disappointments, but very small compared to the grand picture. And the casitas are the only way to go. We stayed in building 55 last week on the villa side and now in building 31 on the casita side and the rooms are spectacular and service tremendous. Worth the difference!
  22. We are having our lega ceremony tomorrow and flying out to Mexico tomorrow afternoon. So excited and can't believe that it is finally here!! I will post some quick comments next week after the ceremony and then a full review for you future EDR brides so you have a fresh review. Can't wait!!!
