  1. I would just order another dress, and usually they can make with within 5 days assume the bride is a normal size nothing too weird size bride. However, there is a big holiday coming in mid-sept, so if u wanna order another one from a reputable seller, u better do it asap.
  2. Carrie, Sascha was AMAZING! and very easy going (so I could be a bubbly happy bride on my day). My hubby and his boys are super happy with their pics so far, and I got tons of compliments too!! I can't wait to see the rest of the pics. I wrote a review on him on the vendors' review section.
  3. Skygirl, You will get to 150 posts pretty fast, it took me like 1 month ..lol. :-) Nicola, Thx!! Sascha is truly amazing! Islandgirl, Go for starfish bouts! they are pretty cute in real life, and the boys love them!
  4. Tekeya, BEAUTIFUL dress!!!! lleow, It depends on your size and how top heavy you are.
  5. Hilly, I initially booked the 4pm slot, and then changed it to 5pm when I went to the Royal for site inspection...and due to technical difficulties of them trying to open up the file which contained my walk down the aisle song...my ceremony was pushed to 5:30. I am pretty sure they are very flexible on the time.
  6. Erin, I have been on this thread for a year or maybe more...and I went thru the whole thread from the beginning...no one had order anything from DinoDirect.
  7. Andrea, I went to Puerto Moreles (30 min from PDC) in April, I didn't need to wear a sweater, the temperature was perfect. However, it was very windy some nites that the resort cancelled those beach dinners. Again, every year is a bit different, this year they got more rain (consecutive days of rain, not just 30 min drizzles) so..the muzzies were so bad!
  8. Janet, LOL, so you were Pauline Marois's neighbor! I live in D-D-O, 10 min from Ile-Bizard! I got the custom made cake topper from Ebay, and the reception dress is also custom made by a chinese dressmaker. All details on vendors are in my planning journal thread. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/74591/prettypigpig-s-belated-pics-loaded-wedding-planning-journal-saves-splurges-diy-etc/30#post_1644663 Mexbride, Nothing cultural, I put the rings on my middle finger because they were a bit loose (kept turning on the side) and I forgot to bring my plastic ring sizers with me
  9. Tekeya, Pics please! I am happy to hear that TTD meets your expectations! Skygirl, I wrote all these info in my planning journal thread http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/74591/prettypigpig-s-belated-pics-loaded-wedding-planning-journal-saves-splurges-diy-etc/30#post_1644663 The starfishs, I bought them on Esty, and the flowers were real pink peonies and ranunculus with green berries from Marvin in Cancun.
  10. Ok, Sascha Gluck just posted some of my pics on his blog! The pics are AMAZING!!! For those brides who are still shopping for a superb photog and don't wanna spend 2 arms and 2 legs plus a few months of mortgage payment, he is the ONE! http://cancunphotosblog.com/bonnie-jose-the-royal-playa-del-carmen/
  11. Mrs Perez, LOL! Seriously, nothing beats a nice short and sweet ceremony with your own vows to each other. As for the video, I hired my friend who is a movie maker as my videographer, I will goto his place with my hubby, have some beers and edit the video together soon.
  12. Vbbtk, Initially, my dress was made by Monica Bridal, but I lost weight, so I ordered another one from Babyonline. The ones you saw in pics are both from Babyonline.
  13. Coco... Or maybe go on Ebay and buy a veil! lol My friend initially wanted to buy a veil and ended up with a dress and a veil from the same seller! lol
  14. Thx Roxy! Coco, The veil was my smth borrowed. My bestpal who got married in 2010 ..bought the veil on Ebay for $40.
  15. Mrs Perez, I saw one during my last year site inspection, it was pretty cool and original. My hubby aka "FI at that time" found it a bit lame...maybe it was a bit too theatrical for his taste. Thus, it is all about what you want. Ok Ladies and Ladies.. my photog, Sascha Gluck, just posted some of my pics on his blog...beautiful pics...and I am so proud of myself for hiring him as our photog (ok hiring and firing are part of my daily life..but still!!!) so happy and can't wait to see the rest of the pics! http://cancunphotosblog.com/bonnie-jose-the-royal-playa-del-carmen/comment-page-1/#comment-873

  17. Brit, In China, they don't have the typical north america cheap white/off white tasteless mushroom or fancy truffles, if u said mushroom, they would think shitake or some dark color mushroom...yes..in Chinese..mushroom=> dried shitakes... Therefore, if u girls wants odd color..just send color pics...and be specific..just like Brit said btw..Sascha Gluck just posted some of my pics on his blog...gorgeous pics http://cancunphotosblog.com/bonnie-jose-the-royal-playa-del-carmen/comment-page-1/#comment-873
  18. well, it is not like I will wear it again...and I don't think my future daughter would want to wear it. Therefore, it is better to give it to someone who would love and wear it.
  19. Van, It depends on the number of incomings, and where they are coming from. If you have a large group and all from the same village/city, use an agent would be easier for your guests to know where to go and for u to track who is lying and who is not lying when they said..they are booked. Like Murmel said, group discount and perks can be great, and you save a lot of time on tracking everyone. and YES, please let people know that you are going to have a DW, and expect some drama and dumb questions like...is it safe to goto Mexico, I heard people got their heads chopped off?!?! However, if your guests are all over the galaxy and from different social class like mine (yes, I had guests who flied 26 hours in economy class, and didn't say a word. I also got guests who insisted to fly first class only..not business, not economy and nagged for 2 days on how harsh the flight was), it would be impossible to book thru 1 agent. I also had guests who like to compare prices and use their airmiles to pay...etc! Therefore, it really depends on your group of potential guests. Happy Planning!
  20. Jackie, Thx! I used my dress as my wedding dress, TTD dress, and I gave it to the cleaning ladies at my resort!
  21. Always check your final checklist with their invoice (yes, they tend to do mistakes and over-charge and print out all the emails+ bring them with you. In case, you don't wanna get married at the Royal, you can always use your deposit as credit for future vacation at Real Resorts. However, the location is hard to beat, and I am sure you are making the right choice. :-) Kids prices are cheaper (can't remember the price, becuz due to my allergy to kids...I made sure there would be ZERO kids at my wedding...LOL), and they also have a kid menu with American junk food to keep the kids happy.
  22. Fabiola, Rebecca is a vendor on BDW with a lot of great reviews from previous brides! http://www.allurementsbyrebecca.com/
  23. OVERALL, here is a DO and DON'T list for DW brides in planning mode and with a budget limit... DOs: DIYs projects (and yes, get your FI to help out) Be original, go outside of the box Hire a good photog and video guy (after the wedding, pics and video are all we left with) Save money in advanced, and prepare for extra costs popping out from left and right Give a head up to your potential guests that you will have a DW, so they too can save in advanced. Watch for sales and coupons Compare prices Think twice before you buy (do u or ur guests really need 2 luggage tags or 4 Tylenol each?!) Read reviews on BDW Check baggage limits on your airline's website DON'Ts: Overstressed or over upset because some people can't come or try to make u feel guilty because you want a DW (it is your wedding, not theirs) Overworried about the weather. Skip/ Cut corners on photogs and videos (the day will fly by so fast and so emotional that you and FH can't remember much) Overspend on flowers, OOT bags (seriously, guests don't care if they don't get a Sudoku book to fill out on the beach after 2 beers) Overspend on rehearsal dinners, welcome dinners (you and your guests are ..most probably..in an ALL INCLUSIVE resort) Overspend on your dress, your FI will find you beautiful in any white dress (it is a 1 day thing...and no, u can't re-sell it at 80% of the original price, and your future daughter won't like to wear it on her day)
