  1. Our wedding is 10/4/10. I have seen pics of the beach, gazebo, and "rain" locations...my fiance does not want to be married on the beach. I do not like the design on the gazebo and it seems from the reviews that it can lack privacy. I have liked the photos of the 'rain location' best...it is the terrace in front of one of the clubs. It seems very quiet and private, and I liked the look of the pergola. I am wondering if Ana will have a problem with us choosing this as our location even if it is not raining? For those who have been here, am I missing something with regard to the drawbacks of the terrace for a wedding? I am really hoping they have a garden location available by the time we get there, as that is what we would really prefer, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. Thanks for any input!
  2. Our wedding date is 10/4 - we will be there 10/1-10/8 - we are having a very small wedding, about 14 guests.

We don't really know yet. We will be having a reception, especially since a set up is provided in the package price. . . No, she said her wedding was at 3pm, not that she had 3 guests, you misread

If we can't talk the rate down I'm afraid we aren't going to be able to get married here and we have already put our deposit down. Thanks! That would depend on your travel date and if you are booking a group or not. We have booked 14+ ppl so far, and our travel dates are 10/1/10 - 10/8/10. With the "book 5 rooms get the 6th free" promo, the cost is less than $2500 per couple, and continues to go down when we reach the next level. That includes airfare. I believe our actual cost will be around $2000 per couple. That is for a garden view room. I highly suggest using a travel agent. My best friend is a TA, so I am fortunate in that regard. She is booking trips for a couple other girls from this site as well. If you would like her info, PM me and I will put you in touch. I have been astonished at the prices some are paying, but I am assuming they are going during peak season and are perhaps flying from more expensive locations. We are flying out of St Louis on a charter flight. But I have some guests flying out of other airports on commercial flights, and their costs were a little higher due to their airfare. Good luck!
  5. I love your bridesmaids dresses, christinak82! And what a great price, and you got exactly what you wanted! Good for you!
  6. Unless there has been a recent change, there are THREE weddings per day. Mine is scheduled at 10am because there is already an early afternoon and late afternoon wedding the same day as mine. I was hoping for the last spot of the day Oh well, at least we can have our ceremony before the weather gets too hot and then enjoy the rest of our day. We are not having a reception anyway, we are going to eat together at one of the restaurants (we have about 20 guests going) and have our cake after dinner. We are being very casual about the whole day.

I asked her to please contact me immediately when she received my info. (011.52.998.848.7001 is the fax I used) It is now Sunday...no reply. How did you all submit your deposits? How long did it take for confirmation? Do I have the correct fax? I called the Dreams Corp and that is what they gave me. Sooooooo frustrated....any help is appreciated! Thx I mailed my deposit via money order using certified mail. She has not acknowledged receipt yet, but I sent it about 6 weeks ago. I will do a trace in a few weeks if she doesn't give me confirmation. It is so frustrating that she will answer one or two questions in an email, but leave so many unanswered
  8. We are flying non-stop out of St. Louis on a charter flight and the cost is approx $300 pp RT. And the 11th person flies free so the price goes down from there. We were able to find commercial flights for a little less but they had layovers. We are traveling 10/1-10/8. I believe Jan is more 'prime' season, that is one of the reasons we opted for early fall travel...the resort prices were cheaper then, too. Good luck! Oh, I would HIGHLY suggest using a TA, they are a huge help in getting the best pricing and perks!

Alison, I do not know if the resort has scripts available. However, I read so many reviews and comments from brides who left it up to the minister, and were not happy because the ceremony did not reflect their personal beliefs or style, that I decided not to leave it to chance and just write our own. It didn't take long, because there were so many great ceremonies posted on this board to pick and choose from. We are still tweaking ours, but it's 99% complete. Good luck!

We are getting married in the states just before or just after the vacation, we have not decided yet...but we want this to be the 'real deal' - there is a thread on these boards with ceremony scripts...I used bits and peices of several of them to write our ceremony. We will give this to Ana when we meet so she can give to the minister.
  12. we have about 14 guests and we are having dinner together at one of the restaurants that evening and will have the wedding cake brought out there. Afterwards, we will go to a club or show or both to celebrate, whatever everyone wants to do is fine. We are also very low key about all of this. the reason *we* chose a resort wedding was that we wanted to spend money on a vacation, not a wedding. So we are trying to stay as close to that ideal as possible
  13. We only have about 14 ppl traveling w/ us, and will not be doing a program. But honestly, I don't think we would do one even if we were having a large at home wedding. When I have received one at a wedding, I either left it on my seat or it was tossed when I got home. And in my opinion, it's only a "time-waster" for guests, as it gives them something to do during parts of the ceremony that are boring for them. I do think they are pretty, and can add to the decor. So if you were doing for that reason, have extra time and money, it can be a nice touch.

  16. Does anyone have, or know how to get, a list of excursions offered by Dreams? I thought it would be nice to have some idea of the off-resort activities offered and the prices? I would also love to see a newsletter or calendar of activities offered within the resort? Did anyone keep theirs from when they were there? I thought this would be fun information to share with our guests.

But alas, one of the many things that has frustrated me with Ana. Hopefully she has some free time and gets back to some of my emails soon! OH i did not realize the ultimate was the most expensive package (we are going with the free package That makes much more sense then!

IF you worded your email that same as you did here,I would say she could have easily gotten confused. You ask how much does it cost to upgrade to the next package - do you mean the next wedding package, or to just add more photos to your current package? If you meant the next wedding package, then her response is correct. However, I think you probably meant to ask how much it costs to add x-many photos/video to your current package? Trouble is, it will likely be another month before you have your answer based on her email response time, sorry!
  19. I know you must be so aggravated that you put all this time and research in to choosing the best resort for everyone, and now it seems for naught. If I were in your shoes, I would just get married the day before you go, have the symbolic ceremony so that you get to enjoy all your planning, even if it is just for yourself and a few other people, and enjoy your honeymoon! Don't let everyone ruin your special day! The two most important people will be there - you and your fiance!
  20. steflovesbran I love your dresses, I am especially fond of yellow, and I love the style you chose for your bm dress, very beautiful!
  21. It's just a dress My 2 cents. Not worth upsetting anyone over. And I'm betting no one will make notice of it.
