Congrats to all the newlyweds!!! I leave in 9 days, can't wait! For anyone worried about rain, I wouldn't worry too much. I live in Florida and we have similar weather to Mexico. They predict rain alot here, and usually that means a 10 minute shower in the afternoon. Most of the days are still beautiful!

Heidi - It is a little confusing...they list is as "The Royal in Playa del Carmen", so it's in T instead of R. Weird but it works! The ceremony thing definitely sucks! I wanted to have mine mostly custom since I'm doing symbolic. But my WC said that it's "not recommended" ugh. I'm just going to throw a couple of things in that i want them to say. I'm scared of it being 100% custom and them messing it up. I just figured out what we're doing for legal...My stepmom is a notary and will "marry us" right before us & our immediate families leave to go to the airport for our trip. It's basically a 30 second ceremony that says... "Even though you are taking your vows in Mexico in several days, you are entering the commitment of marriage in the State of Florida". glad that is figured out!

Woops! forgot to answer the first time We got the standard cake, since there are only 30 of us I thought it would be the best option. She said I could pick Choc or vanilla cake...and then there was a list of maybe 15 filling options??

He is pretty picky with desserts and he picked the caramel/coffee, which sounded really good to me too!! Did they give you the cake flavor list?

Hi Sara! I'm very sorry about the miscarriage. For your wedding, where will people be coming from? If people are coming from all over the world and will have to travel anyway, might as well have it in Mexico! Also, what time of year are you looking at? If you go during a non-peak time of year it will probably be cheaper. I know for sure March - mid June is usually pricier...as well as around the holidays.

The tres leches thing is a huge bummer!! They told me the same thing, that even with a "standard" they don't do that flavor anymore. I got vanilla cake with caramel & coffee filling. Hope it's good! Hi Jes! Definitely take a couple advils about 1/2 hour - hour before. I've done with and without and with is definitely a little less painful. I'd also suggest to go at least 2 days before you leave...because sometimes redness can last a little longer than anticipated.

That is SO rude! I would never think of doing that either. I also had people ask me that, and I just gave them an invite anyway because i was feeling too nice apparently...and guess what...NONE of them ended up coming anyway!

Sounds like my life!! I hate bridal showers too, they are SO boring and pointless in my opinion. I was almost forced into having one by my mom & cousin but luckily got out of it. We did a small registry on Crate & Barrel with some things we needed (Some people really wanted to give us "physical" gifts). You might want to look into it online, there are cool things you might not "need" but maybe a few things you want. We also did a honeymoon registry on honeymoonwishes.com. I love the honeymoon registry because it's basically just money. We signed up for the things were were planning on doing during the honeymoon. You assign your own monetary value to it. Then whenever you want, you can receive a pay out. They can mail a check to you or can deposit it into your bank account. I think it's a great idea! Hope everything works out!

I have about half singles and half couples. So I decided to do one per person. Makes it alot easier for me and the price difference wasn't that much.

The salon ballroom thing has to be just a mistake in translation.... In spanish, a ballroom is called a Salon.

I have a couple people in single rooms and a few that are going alone and "paired up". The single room for our rate was $120/night more, which is alot! One of them is my FMIL and we offered to cover the difference, but she declined. The other one is rich so he doesn't care, haha. Is there anyone that he can be paired up with that he knows or you think he would really get along with? I think it's definitely worth it. RunningBride - If your guests are staying at the Gran they won't be able to come for dinner at the Royal. If you want to switch the the Gran, I ate at the Italian restaurant there and it was really good!! Lisa - I got my bill 2 days before it was due...about 2 weeks after I turned in my checklist. She called me to take my credit card information, then sent me a receipt right away via email. Make sure to call your card company in advance because the charge is from Mexico. I forgot to do this, and the card got declined the first try....but at least the bank called me quickly to resolve it.

How exciting for everyone!! I'm 4 weeks away from leaving and can barely concentrate at work! haha....once I hit 5 weeks, it really started hitting me. Â I can't wait to hear about everyone's weddings! I'm sure I'm the last of the bunch at 10-30

 Hi Lisa, I hear your pain! I tried to do the same thing because my period was due on my wedding day. After 2 weeks into the new pack, it started  I talked to my Doctor, and she said you could have up to 3 months of spotting if you are new to taking it back to back!! So midway through the 2nd pack, I stopped and restarted my normal routine a week later, and that puts me on track to avoid getting my period around the wedding. Hope that helps!

Woops, forgot to add I'm using Cancun Transfers too. Very easy to deal with and great rates! The flight we're coming in on has 10 people from our group and the transfer is going to be $117 round trip.

Whoa Jess, you got it down!!! My big day is in 5 weeks and I feel like I need to be doing more, haha. The 2 big things are my ceremony & music, which I still have to pin down. Â At least you are done with the TA issues!! We all know how that goes
