  1. Wonderful review, and gorgeous wedding! Thank you!! I am getting a little worried about the menu. I've got vegetarians, as well as people with food allergies. One dish won't feed them all!

Yes, I believe it was you that I "borrowed" the idea from. I thought your table looked gorgeous! Sorry I couldn't remember who's planning thread I saw them on, or I would have given you credit. One question...did you have any problem with keeping the shades on the wine glasses, and did you spray the paper with a fire resistant spray? Thanks a bunch!

My mom actually WANTS us to do the ceremony on the terrace (back up location) because that's the most private. But FI and I want to be near the water.....so it's currently up in the air and a disagreement. Hi allegraapple, We're wearing sandals for the ceremony (in case the sand is too hot to be bare foot), then changing into some heels for the reception. It's your wedding, have the ceremony where YOU want it. If you're outside, no matter where you are, there is going to be people.

I have a suggestion...originally I had thought to go to the Walmart in Playa, but have since come up with another idea (wine glass luminaries - easier to transport than vases...). I'm sure they will have glass vases & candles for cheap. Whether or not this is practical will depend on how much time you have before the wedding.
  7. I noticed that. I haven't seen anyone else on here with our date either. What time is your ceremony? We're going at 2pm.
  8. Hello! Another December bride here! We're tying the knot December 8th @ Dreams Tulum. Sounds like everyone is very busy! I've got most of the big stuff on my list accomplished. The only "big" thing left is ordering the guys barongs (my FI is Philippino) from the Philippines. Oh and shoes for the BMs. Congrats everyone!
  9. Cherie what a wonderful review, and helpful! I think I'm going a little overboard on the decorations. I need to restrain myself! We've got enough stuff to bring with the oot bags, and decorations we're not going to have any room for clothes! I guess all I really need is my dress & a bikini

  11. Anyone who has already had their wedding, or is in the planning stage using lanterns at their reception? We are having our reception at the adult pool, & was wondering if anyone has any idea how long the cords need to be, and whether need to bring our own extension cords etc? Thx.

Kinda bummed about that because it sounds like a great resort and there are soooo many good wedding reviews, I hope it goes well for you! We are getting married at Dreams Tulum December 8th. Originally we planned on getting married there, January 28, 2011, BUT were forced to change due to prices. We chose to switch the date not the resort. We ended up getting a great price.
  13. We're looking at the Riu Palace in Los Cabos for Jan 2011. Did you have to book your own blood tests, did you need a chest xray, and how difficult was it to arrange translation of your documents? Thanks! Staci
  14. I am getting married January 2011 at the Dreams in Tulum. We chose the resort mostly because we know someone who has been there for a wedding, and gave the resort a great review. Travel prices seem to be creeping up making me nervous...
