Also, on the amenity sheet they sent me I think dress pressing is listed as $10. That is just crazy. I've never heard of such a thing! I wouldn't worry about it now, I'd take care of it with the WC onsite. No sense fighting this battle with Tiffany (it shouldn't even be a battle) when you can do it down there. Had to have an argument with them in the shop as they don't do alterations at weekends or in the evenings and I refused outright to have to book ANOTHER day off work just to have another alteration that they should have got right the first time! (I feel bad enough that I'll be off work for 3 weeks without keep booking days off for everything else!) so I got them to agree to stay late one night and I've got to rush home from work next Wednesday and get there for 7.30pm! fingers crossed, this is the last one! Yay good for you!!! I have the opposite problem. I just picked up my dress today and it's too tight! She swears she didn't take it in between the last time and this time and that I've gained weight, but I don't think so. It does zip but it's really, really hard to breath and uncomfortable I've got 1.5 weeks to make it fit?? Quote: Originally Posted by KittenHeart Thank you, I hope so! Lame. Can you start a thread and work on it before you actually post it live? I've been gathering pictures and information for my planning thread but am not done yet. But it'd be nice to at least upload some of the info and get the ball rolling. Okay, how did one of your friends not know she wasn't a citizen? That is a strange thing to not know! Was her paperwork being processed and she thought it'd gone through or something? There's got to be a story here! That really sucks about your friends not being able to come

  3. Very understandable as they don't come cheap! Houston Boudoir is also reasonably priced though, so good choice!

Are gifts supposed to be given at the wedding? OMG LOVE the picture!! That is too funny. I've been anxiously awaiting your return to hear all about your weekend. For the gifts, I am of the opinion that you don't have to do them. But since it's tradition to give wedding party and parent gifts, I would say it depends on your crowd. Since we're not getting help financially for the wedding, we don't feel the need to give gifts. Plus we feel like we're being awfully generous taking everyone sailing. With the exception of our moms (who are sappy b/c all moms are that way), we just don't think our parents are going to miss a gift from us. They certainly wouldn't want anything with our wedding date/names on it! LOL. They're just not those kind of people. But again, depends on the crowd. 6. Wow that is terrible! Thankfully you'll get your frame for the same price and will eventually be reimbursed through your cc company. Thank you for sharing this story with us! The only way to find out about these 'companies' is word of mouth most of the time.

She decided not to, but only after FI's brother agreed to give her even more money (pain and suffering, apparently). Grrrrr. Okay, WHAT?!!!!!!!!! He had to pay her to keep his ticket? I don't even know what to say to that. BTW, coming from the American perspective, did she have any idea how lucky she was that you chose Cuba for your wedding? I would LOVE to be able to have my wedding in Cuba! Or just visit for vacation...even that would be okay!

The room you book and then they send you an email to fill out an authorization form, and you must send it back 48 hours latest, if not the money doesn't get taken off the card and you have no reservations. ShE NEVER SENT THE FORM BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!! then I get a call saying her fake husband can't go, but maybe she should take her mom, that was yesterday... I told her game over!!! then today she calls and says she'll just come alone. I told her with what reservations!!!! This has become way to much for me,especially a week before my wedding. If I get one more call (even tho FI doesn't want me to answer her calls anymore) I'll tell her she is no longer invited (I really will too, enough is enough.. I've been way to darn nice!!) *sigh* sorry for my vent who has these kinds of problems with guest booking a week before their wedding LOL!!!!! I have to laugh or I'll cry ( not about her not coming, but hows she going about everything, and adding extra stress.. trying not to let her get to me tho..def not loosing any sleep over it) You must be joking! What is wrong with your GF? I mean this is way out of control. I agree with your FI that you shouldn't take her calls anymore. There's no need to let her add more stress one week before you go, no matter what she has to say!
  10. Seems like we're all in the same boat! I don't have a strapless dress, but the straps on mine are quite thin. And I definitely do NOT want tan lines! I've paid a whole lot of money for my photog and I don't want to ruin the pics with tan lines, LOL. So, all along I'd planned to buy a strapless bikini but the problem is that I've got sizable girls. Strapless just does not work. Plus, I have a hard time throwing down money on a bikini I'm only going to wear for 3 days of my life! After trying on a few I just threw that idea out the window. My new plan has been: lots of tanning bed sessions, lots of strapless dresses and tubetops that I can wear with a strapless bra for the days leading up to the wedding, and tucking in my bathing suit straps whenever I can. Fingers crossed!

I think it's the norm to get them gifts, though. In the case of my mom, we're paying for her whole trip so that's her gift! And I'm with AmyKH, no one is paying a cent for our wedding but us, so I don't feel bad. For my MOH, my sister, we bought her a night at the resort so she could stay an extra day. She's been our main and almost only helper, so she deserves it. Other than FGs and RBs, she's the only one getting a gift. The BM has done absolutely nothing and has not been involved at all. He doesn't even reply to my emails and last I checked he didn't even have his shirt yet. So we're not getting him a gift. Can you tell I'm a big fan of the BM?? LOL.

Yup, we're in the same boat, too. 6:50am flight. But that's okay b/c it's worth it to get to the resort early in the day. At least that's what I'll be telling myself when my alarm goes off, LOL!
  14. I know this isn't a very active thread, but I've got a question for all you ladies with enviously-low budgets (5-8K). When you list your budget as 5-8K, are you including your attire, flights, hotel, photography, and of course wedding/reception? If so, what's your secret?!
  15. Well ladies, this is my final list. Okay, not really 'final' since I still have to plan the details for my AHR. But, the next time this list comes around I'll be soakin' up some Mexican sunshine. So you'll just have to assume I got it all done! Either that or it's not getting done, LOL! Taylorwd's To Do's! 1. Here I was thinking my list was almost finished but I keep adding to it. Damnit!! On a less stressed note, I'm all smiles and goosebumps today! I'm finally getting really, really excited!!! It helps that my sister (& MOH) has just told me that they're planning two bridal showers for me while we're in Mexico and she's working on a bachelorette during our AHR weekend. The first bridal shower is a luncheon with all the women and the second is the night before the wedding and is a "Lingerie and sexy things" party with just us younger ladies! And yes, it's true that my bachelorette won't happen until after I'm actually married, but that's okay with me. Many of my close friends have moved away and will be coming in for the AHR reception, so I'm okay with waiting. As long as I get to hang with my girls, I don't care when it happens!
  18. Lolo, it sounds like in spite of some hiccups, you really had a truly wonderful wedding! Good for you being so positive and taking it all in stride!! Thank you for sharing
  19. Nice job!!! I hope to have my planning thread up within the week. Go April brides!

  22. You're very welcome! You don't have to swing by her studio. She has a private online gallery...much more convenient! Tell her Wendy referred you
