  1. YAY KATIE and AMY!!!!!! You girls are so ready to go!!! Wine and nails with the girls sounds lovely and is a great way to kick off your final weekend! Woooohoooo!
  2. Awesome dress!!!! I too wore Paloma Blanca but style 3912. She has gorgeous and sexy gowns! About sizing, I'm an 8 but my dress was a 10 and it fit almost like a glove before alterations.
  3. I actually wore my engagement ring on my ring finger during the ceremony. I didn't even think about it...OOPS! Ah well.... Too funny b/c what I did think about was not wearing it from the time I got it cleaned back home until ceremony day. I didn't want it to lose it's professional shine for wedding pictures b/c of suntan lotion. Whether you wear it for the ceremony or not, in most wedding pictures you look at as well as cake cuttings during the reception, the bride usually has her e-ring on.
  4. Something tells me that even if you only had one year instead of two, you would still have a wedding that's this amazing! Yay so soon!!!!! When do you leave?

  6. AmyB, what a great theme for your AHR!! I can't wait to see it! And you're right, after planning a wedding, the AHRs are a piece of cake.
  7. Thanks for the props on the pics girls!!! I'm off to finally check them out for myself!!
  8. Hiya ladies!!!!!!!!!! I'm back and we had the MOST AMAZING time!!!! Actually we got back late Friday but we spent the weekend unwinding (and trying to prolong the honeymoon) and I wanted to catch up on this thread before I posted anything. Ha, that's laughable! There's just not enough time. But from what I've read so far, it seems like everyone's weddings were amazing, as we all knew they would be! I've loved some of the pictures I've seen so far. My photog just posted our pics today both on fb and on here, but I haven't gotten to see them yet! It's kinda funny that other people are looking at them and commenting on them but I haven't yet! DH (weird to use that instead of FI) wants us to look at them together and that won't be until tonight. So we got to see a few teasers this morning but that's it! Unfortunately, it rained and rained and rained our first 3 days there. Not just sprinkles or mist but full on side-blowing rain. We had to cancel a sailing trip we had planned and ended up renting vans to take our guests into town for dinner instead. They were getting a bit stir-crazy with the rain. BUT, somebody was looking out for us because we went to bed the night before the wedding to pouring rain and woke up to blue skies on wedding day!!!!!! The clouds rolled in around ceremony time but the first drop didn't fall until the final blessing. Perfect timing if you're going to have rain on your wedding day! I'll write a full review later with all the details but I just wanted to pop in and say that our whole experience could not have been any better. Superb everything: food, staff, beaches, onsite team. Absolutely perfect! Jodi- I'm really sorry to hear that volcano changed your entire wedding! You're probably already in Cyprus, but if not, chin up! A friend of mine got married there and she just raved and raved!! Someone a few pages back (Tracy maybe?) mentioned that we should all post links to our pics together once we're all back. FABULOUS IDEA! Well, since everyone else is looking at them, I'll share with you all, too! Here ya go: If you click on 'Featured Images' I think our photog put together a slideshow of just his favorites. andrew jordan photography

We had 4 tables of 8, a guestbook table, cake table, and sound system/laptop table and we still had tons of room around us plus a huge dance floor. IMO, the dinner tables were a little too spread out and I felt far away from the rest of my guests. I wish I'd thought of this!
  10. Oh, HAPPY WEDDING DAY SUZANNE!!!!!! I hope AB is treating you and your day as well as they treated us!

I know I've heard this mentioned on here before, but you (AmyKH) should really consider wedding planning as a career! My guess is all the brides on here are secretly drooling and wish they had the wherewithal to plan a wedding like this! Quote: Originally Posted by amandamarieb Me too! I have a TA but she's from DW.com and she's really no help. I've had some issues with her and she said for my guests to handle their own flights. I am going to call her this morning and beg her to help. Uggh this is so annyoning. Thanks for all of the good advice though. Really, your DW.com TA won't help you with the flights? That's their job! Maybe you should change TA's? We used DW.com and our TA was more than willing to book people's flights or help them if needed (even if they didn't book through her). After all, it's $$ in their pocket!

You don't think the Terrace is big enough? It now requires a minimum of 80 people to have a private reception there. Or were you looking at some other location? We only had 28 guests and there was a lot of extra room on the Terrace (we booked before the minimum requirement changed). I'd say 50 is an ideal # though they won't let you have it with that number of guests. If you're thinking the wave lounge, the max. for that area for a seated dinner is 25.
  13. Seriously HOT BD pics, BTW. LOVE the one of you walking away from the camera.
  14. Um, holy cow Amy!!! This is just absolutely AMAZING! I cannot believe the amount of thought and detail you've incorporated into everything. I love it all: the dress (wow, your silhouette from the back!), the garters (never seen ones like 'em!), the family tree, the postcards you're going to have mailed to you every week after the wedding (brilliant!). I know there's so much more that I'm forgetting to mention. You are one impressive and classy lady!
  15. Oh no fair! You all get to see the images and I have to wait We saw that Andrew had posted the pictures on fb this morning, but we only had time to look at the teasers he put up and not the full album. DH wants me to wait until tonight so that we can look at them together. Hmpf!

So not what they signed up for. Uggh, I can't believe that happened. Needless to say everyone is in a tizzy. My mom is stressed and it's become my problem the folks at AirTran don't have their stuff together. My mom has me researching the next best flights to book with a different airline and this is for 19 ppl many of which are leaving and coming on different days. Uggh so not fair. Like I don't have enough to do. Uggh. Sorry for the rant. I feel a little better now. There is absolutely no reason you should be doing this for people! They're adults and should be able to figure this out for themselves. Their flight changes are not your job! At the very least you could assign one of the 19 people to help you, like your mom. Amy's advice is good about getting a TA.

  18. BTW Renee, if you want really good zip lining, look no further than the Texas hill country! Cypress Valley Canopy Tours. I know this doesn't help you in Mexico but you and FI could come have a lot of fun the next time you're in the area!

I am looking at Edventure Tours--http://www.edventuretours.com.mx/home/tours.htm. I like it because people can add on with what they want, and it covers ziplines, snorkeling, Tulum ruins, and private transportation. Or I was also thinking about Xcaret or Xplor. Any thoughts either way on these ideas? DH and I did Tulum Xtreme. It was small-van transport (no large buses means fewer people to pick up), Tulum for 1.5 hours, zip lining, rappeling, and cenote snorkeling. I think it was $106/pp. I would NOT recommend this tour!! Tulum was great and the cenote was our favorite part. However, the zip lining and rappeling sucked in our opinions. There were only 3 zip lines, relatively high but not much of a grade so you go kinda slow, and the rappeling was from atop a wooden structure they built. We thought it'd be real rappeling. Had we to do it over again, we would have gone to Xel-ha. Some of our guests had been there previously and just raved and raved. I'm told to really enjoy Xcaret you need a full day. Our photog went to Xplor this trip and said it was really cool with a lot of variety.
  20. Katie, great choice on the songs!!! Walking on Sunshine is perfect YAY you'll be in Mexico this time next week!!!!

Worked out great! One of our guests queued the special songs (first dance, father/daughter, cake cutting) and changed the music from dinner to dancing. Other than that, the music just played! Our guests liked being able to go up to our laptop, check out our playlist, and then choose a song if they wanted to. However, we didn't have much of a dancing crowd, and we knew it would be that way. It was mostly DH and I with our siblings/spouses up dancing. If we'd had a crowd that was really into dancing, we would have considered splurging on the DJ.
  23. Hi Shannon! If you're still needing advice, I just got back from my wedding at Azul Beach and would be happy to answer any of your questions! It is just the most fabulous place!

Every day we were there, even on the sunny days, clouds and high winds rolled in around 4pm, sometimes with rain and sometimes not. We had to reschedule our romantic candlelit beach dinner twice b/c of it. It wasn't cold, just extremely windy. The skies usually cleared by 8pm to reveal starry nights.
