Also any tips/advice will be helpful! Thanks I just got married in the Bahamas! We brought a photographer with us. The price was VERY reasonable. Once it was all said and done - the 1st thing I said to my wife was I couldn't imagine not bringing a Photographer with us. She did a GREAT job, TONS of pics and WE get the copies. My understanding is that if you use there photographer you don't get copies of the pictures and your limited to the amount you can take. Just a thought but you might want to look into bringing your own. Here is who I used Shoreshotz1 Photography 508.488.7868 Cape Wedding Photographer & Family Beach Portraits. Email Amanda, see what she has to say. She's awesome!

  5. I posted a review of my wedding here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-inside-58533/ I finally got around to putting up some pics. I tried to get pics of things so you can see how they turned out, like cake, floral the wedding site things like that. The pics aren’t in high res because I had to copy them, the originals look much better but at least you get the idea of how they came out. Snapfish: Share:Registration Here is a video as well. Just the entrance, it includes the music that I picked out for the wedding party and brides entrance. I think the music made the whole thing great!! Would definitely recommend having a PA system if you get married on the beach. YouTube - Entering.mov Hope this helps and gives you a visual of the work the people I used did.

  8. I’m back and married! Fortunately everything went GREAT!! As we all realize when you start your quest for a destination wedding all you can do is trust people and hope that they all do their job. The people we chose could not have done a better job. Everything met and exceeded our expectations. Wedding Site – Sheraton Nassau Cable Beach Resort (West End Beach) – This wasn’t as private as I thought it would be but it was still out of the way. There were plenty of onlookers but trust me when the wedding starts you notice nothing and no one but the eyes of who you are about to marry. Location was clean and beautiful and as private and a beach can get. Wedding consultant – Horatio Smith – Horatio is the on- site wedding consultant for the Sheraton. If you started planning you know that coordinators take awhile to get back to you. Bahamian time, and I was worried a bit. When all was said and done he had everything under control and we didn’t have to do a thing. The Ceremony was flawless. Start to finish. Preacher – Matthew Sweeting – You need to look no further. He was terrific. So laid back and everyone loved him. He made us feel like the words he had written were written just for us. It felt like he had known us for years and was marrying us. He was so much fun. DJ – Jose Ageeb - Great guy! He did our PA system for the ceremony and DJ’d the reception. He was very personable and fun to have around. Was accommodating and ran the reception for us which made our job less stressful. He took control of the situation. He even offered to get us all into a club for free if we wanted to go there after the reception Florist – Full House Floral, Michael Hall – PERFECT! All we gave Michael was ideas and pictures and he used his vision to make the reception and ceremony perfect. Competitive pricing and kept checking back with us to see if there was anything else he could do for us before we got to the Bahamas. We don’t have pics of the ceremony but here is a link to his Face book page and our reception. Scroll down to Mike and Heather. Login | Facebook Cake – Swiss Pastry shop – Manfred – Again, couldn’t have been better! The cake was exactly as we described, he only had a picture to go on. It was quite a design too. Prices were the best I could find! It looked good and was honestly the best cake I ever tasted. My dad took half the cake home and ate it for breakfast. Photographer – Shoreshotz1 Photography – Amanda Constadine – We brought her from Mass. GREAT job, easy to work with and took tons of pics. She had most the pictures up within 3 days, great price and she lets family and friends download pics from the site. Highly recommended! I couldn’t imagine trusting this day to someone I met that week at a resort. SO HAPPY I brought Amanda with me to take pictures. You can look her up on face book and her website(Shoreshotz1 Photography). Loved her work! Again, if you look at Face Book we are Mike and Heather Reception Site – Lucianos – Sue and Nadia – I can’t say enough about this place. Sue and Nadia’s help was invaluable. They helped us with everything in and outside of Lucianos. They always had advice for us. They called 2 hours before the wedding to say a storm may arrive and did we want to set up a tent outside. Every call and email was answered within 24 hours. They truly helped in a way they didn’t have to. The food was outstanding, the staff was all class, the whole Lucianos experience was 2nd to none. You will not find a better place to have a reception!!! Transportation – Majestic Tours – Betty Fox – Not too much to say here. Betty worked with us right up until a day before the wedding. The buses were on time and accommodating. She arranged for a couple of things that were out of the ordinary to satisfy our needs. Would recommend. Prices were the best around. I think that is everything. If anyone is just starting or need help let me know and I will be happy to help. The folks I mentioned are a good place to start. I and our guests couldn’t say enough good things about the whole day.

Just out of curiosity and for future reference what room category did you book and pay for? I'm sorry too Maureen. We actually met some travel agents while we were out there and they both said everyone they talk to was complaining about something. I don't sweat the small things but I want what I paid for and when you don't get the room you pay for it's unacceptable. After that the little things just started adding up. We booked: Sandals Royal Bahamian 6 nights– 1 Windsor Grande Luxe Ocean View Room All rooms have king bedding Even if it was only one night with the wrong room, they should have offered us something for the trouble. Instead they told us we were staying in a Junior suite which was an upgrade from what we paid for... Essentially we wasted a whole afternoon waiting to get the room we paid for. There is much more to complain about but I just highlighted the big ones.
  10. Do not stay at Sandals Grand Bahamian. We just got back from there for our honeymoon and it was AWFUL!!! I plan on writing anyone I can to let them know how displeased we were. Here is a few things. a) We asked for an ocean view and ended up overlooking a parking lot. We COULD NOT see the ocean at all. They said they could give us new room the next day at 1 o clock. We sat there until 3:00 before we finally got a new room. We talked to a minimum of 10 other guests who said they did the same thing to them. We started calling these rooms the "holding rooms" because is is clear this is where they put the guests until the room they PAID for becomes available. These holding rooms all had issues. The bath faucet broke and water went squirting into the air, the sink faucet had no screen so it would hit you in the crotch when you turned it on. The balcony wasn't big enough for the 2 of us to sit on. They told us that it was an "upgrade" from what we paid for. Upgrade? A view of a pink building, chain link fence, and parking lot with a balcony we could stand on and upgrade from our $500.00 a night room? Really? All the other people who had these holding rooms complained of the same things.. that includes the faucet squirting into the air in at least 2 of the other rooms. Every other day the water would start off brown and then turn clear. c) Every now and then when you were on the beach you got smell of what seemed like sewage. One day it rained all day and we were taking showers and the water was that smell. It was like we were bathing in sewage. d) Once we did get our new room the smell of cigarettes was like a slap in the face it smelt so bad e) They are suppose to stock the fridge everyday. The only time they would stick it is when we asked for them to stock it. The drinks in the fridge were usually warm and it took a day for them to get cold. f) Restaurants have limited things on the menu and we ran out of things to eat. The best dinner was the salad bar at casa nova. g) Baccarat which is there best restaurant was booked for the whole week we were there. Why? They keep it open for the guests that pay for butler service. If you do not have butler service they tell you they are booked. This was proven when we had someone we met call with butler service, they got the reservation we did not. h) Beach is SMALL, maybe 75 yards, resort is SMALL there isn't much to do at all. We were bored most of the time I) people do not come around with drinks or take orders for drinks. If you want a drink you have to go to the bar j) My safe stopped working 3 times in 7 days so I had to keep calling security k) There are not many chairs at all. Whether the people who paid for butler service or not want chairs they are reserved for them until 10 o clock. Sometimes the reservation would sit there all day. We talked to many other people who all had complaints about the resort. The people were nice but other than that I have nothing good to say about this resort.
  11. I just got back from being married in the Bahamas. I can probably answer lots of questions for you. I am going to write a full review of everything and everyone shortly that should help you. Keep an eye out.

That being said, my FH is truly the most caring / giving person in the world, but after our talk I did get the impression that he spent more effort on the football draft at the time then picking out the ring. I can see inclussions on the side quite easily, maybe its one of those things that once you see it, you always do, sigh, and he said he had no idea what that was. Kinda dissapointing because it made me feel like he had chosen a ring without much thought, I could be totally off base, it has been 6 months but to not remember what you went for just 6 months later is very dissapointing. Well then Boo... that's kind of sad. Like I said if he had spent as much time as I did then I would be very hurt. However, if he just bought the 1st ring he saw then he deserves to have it swapped out. 100% of that ring should be his effort and love that went into buying the perfect ring for you and searching long and hard to get the best ring he could afford.. if that's not the case then get what you want To say he "didn't notice" the imperfection means he didn't take that much time. Quick Story: The jeweler was pushing me towards a larger rock (same price) but larger rock. Under the microscope I could see a black spot so I refused and went with the smaller diamond. To the NAKED EYE you would have never seen that spot but I knew it was there and didn't want it. Did I confuse you more?

Guys and girls are tricky species to each other, and I truly believe we have no real idea how the other works. I was going to say, "sure," go ahead and upgrade, but definitely not behind his back. But, now after reading your post, I have mixed feelings. I want to tell you to go for it, because you have to wear it for the rest of your life and it is an investment on the rest of your life, but if your guy is like MD2002, is it worth it to sacrifice his hard work and sweat in earning the money and picking out that specific ring, worrying all the time if you would like it? On the other hand, there is my future brother in law who couldn't stop bragging that he spend under $700 for his wife's e-ring and her ring. I don't even think he put effort into, might have even gotten it at walmart. Man, it's a toughy! I hope it works out for you in whatever you choose. I love my ring, but we picked it out together. Glad to help! I think I'm the only man on here

I've heard this too, which makes me think if they can't hear the vows, then they probably can't hear the music.

  16. As a guy I can tell you that I told my FI right off the bat that if she wanted to change her ring she could. I wanted to make sure she had something she like to wear. When I say that, I mean the ring not the diamond. You need to understand (and I went through it) men want the best for you and want to make sure you are happy with what you have, something you can show off to all your friends. That being said, rings are EXPENSIVE, we do the best with what we can afford. I'm sure he would have liked to get you a better diamond but then he wouldn't have been able to afford the diamonds on the side or the band he got. I wouldn't be hurt if she wanted to change the style but I would be upset if she wanted to change the diamond. I took 6 months to pick out the best diamond I could afford. It is not easy to plop down $6000.00 when there is so much more you could use that money for. However, we do it, and our happy to do it because we love you and want to spend the rest of our lives with you. If my FI came to me and told me what you are about to tell your FI I would feel cheap. That cut and clarity is all he could afford and if it were me I would feel like less of a man. DO NOT change it behind his back either if you are going to change it. As someone else stated the ring is more about what it means and not how shiny the diamond is. Quite frankly I think what your saying is very materialistic. If your gonna change it wait a few years and just enjoy what the person who loved you gave you. Men go through a lot of trouble to find the perfect ring FOR YOU, and unless we mention it, telling us you want to change something is pretty degrading. Your FI may be different but I'm just telling you how I would feel.

We also looked at the tungsten since my FI works out in the field and it would be a mess within a week, and he is totally against having any "bling" on his ring.... Price was around $350. The downside to me was that we were told we cant engrave his band if we go with tungsten..... You can't cut off tungsten but there are other ways to get it off. It can be smashed off or you could use a pair of vise grips and it will snap in two. (You can YouTube it) Bottom line is that tungsten is a pretty popular metal now and I'm 100 percent certain hospitals would know how to get it off.... Don't you think?
  18. I'm a guy, and like most guys, jewelry is not something I think about. I told my wife to be that I didn't want a ring I had to worry about or anything shiny or anything I really had to worry about if I lost it. I work out everyday and am always active and doing work around the house so I didn't want to worry about having to take it off or ruin it. I ended up getting a $90 Tungsten ring at a local jeweler and couldn't be happier with my decision. I found the SAME EXACT ring on line for $350.00. On a side note, when I was looking for rings I went to the same jewelry store in 2 different towns and one was asking $300.00 more than the other for the same ring. Point is shop around because jewelers will mark things up a lot!

The beach has a lot of noise around it so I'm not sure if it will get drowned out. The Sound Dock is VERY loud. If there is a Bose store in your area you should go check it out. Of course the best way to know is to ask someone who has done this but no one is responding

  24. This took A LOT longer than I ever thought it would. Probably the most stressful thing of everything I've done. Figured if I could save one person the stress it was worth the trouble.
  25. I should 1st say the ceremony is on the beach with about 46 people. These are the songs we have chosen Songs playing in a loop while the guests take their seats for the Ceremony: Lullaby - Bond All you need is love - Vitamin String Quartet Bitter Sweet Symphony - Vitamin String Quartet Snow ( Hey Yo) - Vitamin String Quartet Here comes the sun - Beatles I can See Clearly now - Johhny Nash Send me on my way - Rusted Root Man in Motion - St. Elmos Fire Soundtrack Bride maid, flower girl, ring bearer walking down the aisle: You're So Cool - Dan Head (from the movie True romance) Wife walking down the aisle: Somewhere over the Rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole After we say I DO and turn to face the crowd: One Love - Bob Marley Our introduction and entrance into the reception as husband and wife for the first time: I'm shipping up to Boston - Drop kick Murphy's ( from the movie Departed ) I'm from Boston. Can't believe the FI agreed to this one We still may do: Right here, Right now - Fatboy Slim First Dance: Better Together - Jack Johnson Mother / Son dance: The Perfect Fan - Backstreet Boys Father / Daughter Dance: My Little Girl - Tim McGraw I thought I would share since finding the right music has been maddening this may help some people.
