  1. I'm not sure what your asking but you should talk to a travel agent. It's what we did and they gave us a deal for all our guests on airfare and hotel room. It was probably about $300.00 in saving per person so it worked out well. I did not stay at the Wyndham Crystal so I can't speak to that.
  2. We used Jose... You wont be disappointed. Great guy and incredibly helpful!
  3. I did the Sheraton and loved it... We only had the ceremony their. We went to Lucianos for the reception
  4. I second this. I didn't do a thing. I actually went to the town hall with license in hand and explained I got married in the Bahamas and " What do I have to do?" they said nothing, there is nothing to do. That is a marriage license and that is it. I think different countries. i.e. Mexico require some work on your end when you get back but not the Bahamas
  5. I couldn't see spending $500 - $600 on a video. I knew I wanted some kind of wedding video though. Most of my family and friends told me they watched their wedding video once and never watched it again...it is nice to have though in case you ever want to watch it. Here was my solution. I went out and bought a High End HD video camera for about $600.00, luckily someone at work was selling it. He bought it new for $1500.00. I asked a friend to video tape the wedding for us. It is far from professional video taping but it is "something" to have and watch. He taped the ceremony all the important moments and some of the reception. I gave the camera to anyone who wanted it and everyone walked around and did some video taping. At the end. I did have a video but the money I spent went to a camera that I would have forever and could use whenever I wanted. As I said the video was great but not professional. Just a thought. It made more sense to video tape myself and have a camera and video to show for my money. On a side note. I got married about 18 months ago and have only watched the video once
  6. We were going to have our wedding there but decided against it because of the reason stated above. They told us the same thing, if it's busy there will be people everywhere. Most people are considerate though and will move.
  7. Hello - I debated doing the same thing you are talking about. I was going to get married in the US, in my living room, using the justice of the peace and then just renew our vows in the Bahamas. At the end, I didn't want to get married one day and have the actual ceremony another day. It just wasn't for us. Your guessed are there to see you get married so you should be getting married. As far as it being difficult it is not at all. I can't remember exactly what I had to do but it wasn't tough. A photocopy here and a photocopy there and I was done with the whole thing. So - short answer is that it wasn't a hassle in the least bit to get married in the Bahamas and have it legalized here.
  8. I had the same issue. I was told if guests are not staying at Sandals it would cost $100 per person to have them come to Sandals for the day.
  9. This is where we had our honeymoon and I wouldn't recommend it at all. If you want the full review let me know and I can try to find what I typed up. I pretty much go with the flow but all the little things started adding up and we got very annoying! That being said, you are on a tropical island at the beach so it's not too bad...
  10. You'll love Jose! He did everything for us as well. We didn't have to worry about a thing as far as music goes. He also did our ceremony, went off with no issues at all. Matthew is super too.... you've made some good choices! As I said above if you absolutely have to save money an IPOD would probably work but.... it's much more relaxing if you don't have to worry about the music on your wedding day. If you can afford it, I would get a DJ.
  11. I got a DJ and was VERY happy with him!! That being said, if I could change something about my wedding, and to save money - I think the sound dock and IPOD would have been the way to go. Of course you have to have someone man the system and I don't know if I would have been able to handle the hassle of getting all the playlists together and music.
  12. Hello - I had to transport people from my hotel to Luciano's and used Majestic tours. Depending on the amount of people it can get very expensive! Especially since you have 2 stops, where I only had one. We used Majestic Tours and couldn't be happier. I think you will find that they all charge about the same. Good luck.
  13. I personally did mostly everything myself and saved thousands of dollars. Like others said it depends on the resort and what they are going to do for you. There is nothing they are going to do that you can't do yourself, it just all depends on how much you want to do.
  14. Well, I knew I wanted to get married on the beach so it was pretty easy for me. Luckily I called Luciano's 1st, which is where I had my reception, they were great! They gave me tons of advise and a list of preferred vendors. I then just started calling people and looking on the internet for places. Â I would email or call everyone, see what they had to say and see what I thought about reaction time and things like that. After that, it's just asking around and checking the internet for reviews. The people here helped allot too. If you need anything else let me know. When you ask how to get started it's a tough question to answer Once you have a plan it is pretty easy. Do you have a plan?
  15. Â I got married on the beach, I think that's what you said further down the post, you wanted to get married on the beach. I chose the Sheraton because it was the best price and there beach was one of the more private beaches. It wasn't really private but as you talk to people you will find there is no guarantee of who or what will be on the beach. I talked to a bunch of WC's down there and they all said I could get married on Sunset beach or on the West End beach of Sheraton Nassau, those were my only real options (In Nassau). You will also find that the beaches charge you to use the location. Sunset was $600 for the site and Sheraton was $700 for the site. This was ONLY to use the space, nothing else. So, I took the lowest wedding package from the Sheraton which was $1200, I was going to pay $700.00 for the site anyway. You have to be staying at the Sheraton to get that price otherwise I believe it is $1700.00 for the package. So, I stayed at the Sheraton and got married there. I didn't use them for much of anything though. I did everything else on my own. You will find WC from hotels push their agenda on you and there vendors. If you get more into the planning stages you can PM my and I can send you pics.. and a video if you want. Â When I did my package I had to gave 10 rooms booked, that was to get discount rate for everyone. I don't how good of a video you want but my wife and I bought an HD camcorder and had a friend video tape. It's not perfect but at least for the money we spent we have an HD camera AND a video of our wedding. It's just a suggestion. I talked to all my friends who say they watched there wedding video once and never watched it again. I just couldn't see paying anyone $1300.00 to video tape..which was the going rate. That's what we did.

  17. Hello - Â The easiest way to start is to figure out where you want to get married. In the gardens, on a beach, indoors, over looking the harbor. After that the only real advise I can give you is to search these forums. It helped me allot... once I searched around here I went to the internet. Â I am in the minority and did not use a wedding coordinator and did all my research on-line and made some calls and took peoples advise on who to use. I pretty much did it all for my wedding by taking peoples recommendations and using my judgement. You do need to shop around for prices. They vary by ALLOT! Â Your going to put your trust in people you have never met or spoken to in person and just have to trust that everything works out. I think you will find more times than not from people on this site that everything works out in the end. It's what all these vendors do, there life is weddings. I have a review on here somewhere with all my vendors and my experience with them. You can start there
  18. His name, the DJ, was Jose Ageeb. He was very good to work with! However, seeing what some other people paid he seemed to be on the pricey side but worth every penny. Â You can't go wrong with Rev. Sweeting, your going to want to take him home with you. LOL
  19. WOW! Very nice. .... It's good to have a face to go with all the emails! Â CONGRATS!!

I have a few vendors that I am trying out that are reasonably priced...but can't recommend them until I see how things go at my wedding this weekend. I will come back and post if they are any good. Good luck to you!! THIS WEEKEND!!! Congrats..... I thought this day would never come

My wedding planner is amazing...and this is the second one I have had....they were both great. I think that in their business you have to put out the immediate fires first. Our day will come and they will be there for us!! Best of luck to you!! GEEEEEEEEZZZZZ, your not married yet?!?! LOL

She even emails me when she's not at work such as at night or on her off-days. Yup - That's what they do.... They have so many wedding that if your far out on the schedule you're pretty much second fiddle. I had the same fears but it will all get done.. don't sweat it. Easier said than done but try Creoletexan: I stayed next door at the Sheraton, and got married at the Sheraton. I don't know if you've been there yet but you'll love the location. I did anyway. Good luck to the both of you. Your ganna have a blast and realize all the stress was for nothing.

They do not get back to you as quickly as you like and if I had to guess I would say they will not tell you when things are booked. I can say, it will get done though... you just wont know anything about it It's what these people do.
