  1. I'd like to have some things arranged before we get there, since they do so many weddings there's bound to be competition for locations and such. She hasn't sent me anything except the form for the wedding license, which we may not even need as I we may be doing the legal bit here (still thinking about it). I've asked her for photos of locations and table set up, anything, and she totally ignores me. No spreadsheet yet either, though our guests have until Oct 15 to book still, so I suppose its ok she hasn't sent me that yet. I wonder if she's this slow with everyone or is it because we're not using the Barcelo wedding packages? Do you still have pics of the centerpieces? Would you mind sending them to me if you do? I would be very grateful. Also, did she say what colour chair bows they have?
  2. That's a good idea and I am considering it. And it really cuts down on things you have to bring.
  3. Our ceremony is going to be at Playa Azul and the dinner at the Palmeras Grill - as long as Xhail follows through on reserving it for me. She's kind of slow with the replies, but that's pretty much normal from what I hear. We've hired Ivan Luckie as well; don't the photos on his blog look amazing?!! We booked with the Transat Weddings Away packages before they got rid of them so there are some photographs included with our package, but I just have no confidence in the resort photogs. It's worth the extra money to bring in someone good. Haven't picked out the meal yet (haven't gotten menu options yet) but maybe we do that when we get there? Are you stoked to be escaping the cold here? I am, and it's not even winter yet!
  4. Hi, I'm from Winnipeg and getting married at the Barcelo Maya Colonial too! Our date is January 19, 2011 and we have 30 people booked! Â Got everything ready (I think!) except ties for the guys and wedding favours, which I'm having a hard time deciding on. Any ideas? Â Yay for Canadian girls!
  5. Â Hey, I'm getting married at the Barcelo Maya Colonial too, on January 19th. Can't wait! Are you getting married on the beach? Who's your wedding coordinator? Â
  6. Has anyone dealt with Jessica Bridal here or know someone who has? I bought my dress from the Jessica in Regina, which was pretty busy when we were there, and the saleslady was really helpful. Store was a bit run-down looking but not too bad. Â I went into the one here on a Saturday and it was dead, while Stella's down the block was so packed I could barely get at the dresses. The place was kind of dingy looking and we wandered around the store for about 5 minutes before a saleslady even said hello. I'm a little nervous about taking my dress there for alterations, so I was hoping someone who had an experience with them could share. Â Only 3 1/2 months to go, EEEK!
  7. meldal101010 , where'd you get the travel mug from?? And what's in the wedding survivial kit? (Sorry if you posted those on a previous page, I haven't looked back yet)
  8. I know what you mean about how people stop believing in you. I have started so many times to get on the right track and I never stick to it, so I guess I can't blame them for being sceptical when I talk about trying again. I think I really need a kick in the butt to get going, just have to figure out what "kick" works for me! It's awesome how your brother helps you, clearly he believes in you. Keep it up!
  9. I've heard of Body Glide before, just wondering if anyone knows how long it lasts? Is it something you'd have to reappply in a couple hours?
  10. Haha, so I was looking around for some thin cotton kind of shorts to wear under my dress to prevent the "chub rub" and I came across this, which I think is just too funny looking! Had to share. Â http://www.underworks.com/pettipants/8402.html
  11. Oops, I think I got too excited about going away and I added an extra week to our holiday! We're actually back on Jan 29, NOT Feb 5. Just noticed it, my bad!

I didn't want to start a new thread just to ask this question. Thanks ladies! I know some ladies already answered this but thought I would toss in my 2 cents. I went to try on dresses at the store in Fargo. Maybe it's because it's a smaller center, but of the 6 dresses on their website that I really wanted to see, they only had 1 in store, and it was way too small for me to try on. The salesgirl was helpful without being pushy, which was nice, but if I had wanted to order a dress it had to go to an address in the US (was told they would not ship to Canada) and they could not accept it at the store for me to come pick up later. So basically, call ahead to make sure they have the dress you like available to try on before you go there, and if you want to order, make sure you have an US address to ship it to (unless they were BS-ing me about that, you never know!).
  13. How's the planning going ladies? I agree with Lite, we chose a DW so we wouldn't have to organize anything like a reception, though I really like the bbq in the park idea. We're not having a social either (we're originally from SK, where socials are a foreign concept) Is anyone having/had a social?
  14. I love this board, you guys have the best conversations! Has anyone here ever ordered a swimsuit from alwaysforme.com? Their stuff looks so cute but it's quite expensive to ship to Canada so I'm a little leery to try them.
  15. Hi, I sent you a PM week or so ago but I guess you didn't get it. I would be interested in buying 30 of those fans, if you still have them for sale. Do you know how much shipping would be to Winnipeg, MB, Canada? Thanks! Brandy
  16. Definitely Will Farrell. I refuse to watch movies he's in, he's so annoying. What famous person would you consider cheating on your significant other for?

Obviously I don't know exactly how well endowed you are, but it's worth a try if you are near one of their stores. Thanks for the info, I'll check it out!
  18. not this morning :: eating breakfast!
