Hey everyone, has anyone seen or had a beach reception at the Riu Palace? I don't see any comments and am curious if it worth the extra money?

Hi, Has anyone been to the Santa Fe and the Palace? I can't decided which to pick. We're looking to get married next Aug. I've stayed at the Palace and loved it. But the Santa Fe offers the "Free" wedding package. Has anyone done the "Free" package. What about the Semi-private dinner at the Steak house is it good? I've always want the Beach reception but it's only offered at the Palace and it $! Were looking at around 50 ppl. Any advice would be awesome!

josie, The $1500 what did that include? I'm deciding between the Riu in Cabo or the RIU in mayan. I heard nothing but good things about the one in the Mayan, not so much in Cabo. Did you have a private reception, do you happen to have any photos?

I did see a wedding at the Santa Fe, it was really nice, so long story short, i figured why ruin a good thing, i love the santa fe, the reviews are better at the santa fe, it was going to cost me about $5000 less to have it there, Santa Fe it is! At first I also thought the Palace was the better hotel, once i visited it, i realized it maybe the better hotel for some ppl, but for me, my wallet and my guests, the Santa Fe was the obvious shoice Palace can use the Santa Fe, Santa Fe cannot use the Palace (you must pay $25 for a day pass). Let me know if you have any other questions. I;m thinking between the Santa Fe and Palace and notice that you said you get a Free wedding with Santa Fe, even with 50 ppl is it still free? I'm just curious as we may have up to 50 ppl coming. I'm just trying to figure out how much I just budget for the wedding. THanks
