  1. I am hoping maybe Krys willl help answer this question, or anyone else who may know it! I am getting married on a Sunday, so our rehearsal dinner will be on a Saturday night. Which restaurants would you suggest for a nice and relaxing atmosphere that will accomodate 13 people and may have some live music playing? Many thanks!!!!
  2. Mercedes please elaborate on your experience! I am using Diane as my planner and this worries me very much! What did she do wrong? What happened? Where did you get married? Any and all descriptions of your entire wedding/trip will be very helpful to us planning our wedding there!! Congrats on being married!
  3. SO SO very helpful! Absolutely amazing pictures!!!!!!! You were a beautiful bride
  4. Thank you SO SO much Krys!!!!!! Your reply has me drooling for cake! I will be sure to contact her!!!
  5. Hello everyone!!! I hope everyone's wedding planning is going great! I am wondering if I could get any recommendations for bakers to make my wedding cake? I have read on Trip Advisor that a Diane Guess with Cakes to Di For is really great, but have searched the internet and cannot find any contact information? Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  6. Hi Glowbee! Welcome to the forum!!! I began planning my wedding at the beginning of this year in Turks & Caicos and have everything booked and picked out other than my flowers and hair and makeup the day of! After researching the amazing hotels on the island and speaking with the coordinators, etc. we chose Villa Renaissace to host our wedding ceremony! Most of my family and close friends will all be staying at suites there and it is an absolutely beautiful property!! We are also using Tropical Imaging for our photography! Their blog just recently had a post involving a church wedding, and if you read through the archives there are other posts with church ceremonies, I am very certain there is at least on post with a Catholic ceremony! We are using Diane with Island Harmony as our wedding coordinator, and she has been amazing! I highly recommend her, very organized and responds super quick: www.islandharmony.com We are having our reception privately catered by Kissing Fish Catering Company, they are setting up a private dinner with open bar, and a beautiful bonfire a few feet from our ceremony! We are very excited! They also own/operate Bay Bistro, so contact Joan ([email protected]) and she will let you know what your options are and the pricing! I am still debating about flowers, can't decide what I want yet. However I was quoted around $500 for bouquet of orchids, roses, and delphiums, very pricey, but yes, imported items are! Let me know if you have any questions!!! Good luck planning!!!
  7. Thank you for that information!! You looked absolutely gorgeous!!!
  8. Great review!! I LOVE your hair!! Where did you get your inspiration for your hair and do you have any great pictures showing it? Congrats !!!
  9. I booked Tropical Imaging about 2 weeks ago and I can't wait!!! I can rest assured our pictures will be AMAZING!
  10. Hi there! I am also getting married in Turks & Caicos and we are in the process of choosing either a band or DJ for our small reception dinner. My wedding planner did let me know that most bands are around $500/hr and a great is DJ is about $200/hr. I will let you know what else I find out!
  11. Welcome to the forum!! My fiance and I originally were going to have our wedding Cabo, but after going there the beach is not very swimmer friendly and the sand is very grainy. Cabo, is however very relaxing and we saw many beautiful weddings while we were there! We wanted that true turquoise water and white soft sand, as well as privacy and decided the Caribbean could not be beat! We will be getting married in the British West Indies in Turks & Caicos and could not be happier with our choice! There are not many AI's in T&C though, only recommended one I know of is Beaches - which I have heard is amazing! There also Club Med Turkouise - but its pretty outdated. The U.S. Virgin Islands could also be an option for you, however I am unfamiliar with any AI's there. MUCH luck to you!!!
  12. My wedding planner, Diane with Island Harmony also suggested Geraldine and Ann for hair and make-up, so I will most likely book them. They come out to your suite for a fee and do all of the wedding party. I will most likely have my manicure and pedicure done at the Teona Spa at VR. Hope that helps!
  13. Hi Janine! Do you know if they do great hair/makeup there? I want to be really pampered that day, hopefully get a massage, etc! I was wondering if you knew more about the Regent's spa?
  14. I have a question for all the T&C brides who are from the USA. How did you change your name, SS card, etc after getting married in T&C? Did you have to file your marriage certificate with your county clerk? This may sound stupid, I just don't understand what the process is. Any help and clarification would be greatly appreciated!!!
  15. I know this thread is old, but I was just wondering how your planning was going I am too getting married in June at Villa Renaissance and am also using Diane! Did you decide on a reception venue? Happy planning!!
  16. Wow! Thanks for all the info Krys! Much needed and very helpful
  17. Did you ever decide on the hotel? I am a T&C bride also. There are not a lot of T&C wedding reviews on here either! ;(
  18. Congrats!! I am a T&C bride also, we are getting married June 6th! Happy planning!!
  19. Hi Janine A! So glad there is another T&C bride out there! I am also looking into doing a cruise one night for our guests, I have found Caicos Tours Caicos Tours - Underwater Tours on Providenciales Turks Caicos Islands and Sun Charters Sun Charters - Sailing charters in the Turks and Caicos Islands
  20. Krys, Thank you so much for all the information!! Due to our families coming with us and no direct flights from Houston, causing our airfare to be around $700 alone, we want to pick a hotel that is affordable. I think we have narrowed it down to either Royal West Indies or The Sands. Any opinions on the inside of these rooms? Kids around? I have also spoken with your company (Ileana) today about photographing my wedding!! Amazing work yall do, seriously beautiful!!! We are still deciding between either June 6th or March 13th as our big day. Thank you again!
  21. I know this thread is old, but I am too planning my wedding in Turks & Caicos! Did you decide on what you were going to do? I am trying to decide between The Sands, Grace Bay Club, Royal West Indies, Ocean Club, and The Windsong Resort. Do you have any opinions on why you did or did not go with any of them? I am also interested in a small dinner following the ceremony. We will only have 13-15 guests at the very most. Did you go with Hemingway's at Sands? Any opinions on the West Bay Club? Sorry so many questions!
  22. O&O is also one of my top contenders!
  23. Congrats on your marriage! I love your dress! What bridal store did you get it at? I am guessing it is Pronovias??
  24. Awesome detailed review!!! I love the hurricane holders on the reception tables!
