  1. sn0048- not all scents were on sale...just the cocunut lime and a pinapple scent
  2. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond yesterday and bought mini hand sant., lotion, bath soap, and a mini candle all in coconut lime and coconut vanilla flavor...I thought this would be cute in our OOT bags! Prices were wonderful!! Hand sant.= 99 cents, lotion=99 cents , bath soap=2 for $5, candles= 37cents!!!!!!
  3. JessGreen1114- Thank you! No we have never been to a Sandals resort but all of our friends who got married in the last 3 years have gone and they all love it! Can't wait! And yes, it is coming sooooo fast!
  4. JessGreen1114- Hi there! Congrats! We will be in Negril the same time as you!!!!! We are getting married in Ocho Rios then heading down to Negril for 3 nights! The 16th to the 19th! ANNND we are getting Nov 14th too!
  5. Since we are getting married the same day- YAAAYYY!! I am curious when you told your guest the last day is to book the trip? I sent out my Save The Dates last week and as of now I have about 20 people booked. I was planning to send out my invitations in the beginning of September BUT technically my travel agent says that Sept 15 is the last day to book because its 60 days prior to wedding date. Is this the date they gave you? I just dont know what to tell my guest when they ask when is the latest we can book? I dont want them to book Sept 15 because I need a wedding count prior to that for the wedding coordinator and for planning, etc. BUT if I tell the guest an earlier date (ie Aug) it will look wierd sending out invitations after the date I telll them is the last to book! I hope this makes sense! Soo...what did you do!? Fill me in! :-)
  6. TA Jennifer- So I asked my travel agent to request for a garment bag....he called my wedding coordinator from the resort and they told him it is a newer promotion that they are doing and that they only ship them out 1 month before the wedding date...so my TA said we will request again in Oct because my wedding is in Nov....is this what they are doing??
  7. Jamaicabride09- that is a really good idea! I think I will also make a list and provide pictures of what I like! I hear that some people only meet with their wedding coordinator for an hour! I'm like....uhhh that's nuts! We have a ton to cover!! Haha! So you are smart about compilling all your desires to a list. So in the meantime, are you communicating with your coordinator? I guess I am just kind of lost on what I should be doing now and I am afraid I am forgetting something! We just planned our wedding to be a destination wedding about 1 month ago! So so far this is all I have done: All my guest should have recieved their Save The Dates last week. I have a website made. I bought my wedding invitations. Ordered my dress. We have our engagement pics scheduled. I am now looking for ideas for our OOT bags but dont want to buy anything because we are not sure how many guest we will have yet? I am also just thinking of decoration ideas for the ceremony and reception.... Oh and of course we are working on our passports and required paperwork for the resort... So what am I missing? Anything important? Ahhh you are a lifesaver!
  8. Jennie- Are you just going to have people drink back at the resort then meet up for dinner at your reception? Just curios b/c I would like a 630 reception as well but a little confused what to do with the guest in between....I hear the wedding itself is less than 30minutes!?
  9. Jamaicabride09- Do we have to let Sandals know ahead of time what centerpiece we want? What do they need to know in advance? Yeah this is very hard for me! I am very Type A so the Destination Wedding is pretty crazy! I had my wedding planned here and had almost every detail planned out in my head so its hard not to be able to do this. I just wish I had more pics so I can get a better visual. I search on the internet but no luck. I ask Sandals for more and they say b/c of privacy, they cant send pics. Makes it really hard for planning! I am just getting a little worried because I dont want to have a visual and then be disappointed....
  10. Jamaicabride09- yes I do like the string lights so its def. something I am thinking about. Have you heard of or seen anymore pics of this? Just want to make sure its not false advertisement! I think it looks good in the picture of the packet they sent us! What should we have picked out before we go and what should wait until we get there? Jamaicabride10- ahhhh, I would love if I can see a few pics from Dunn's River!! Hope you are enjoying your trip!
  11. Islandbride317- Thank you so much for sharing that info! Wish I would have saw this before I scheduled- Nov 14 @ 4pm....yikes! I hear the first week is usually the last of the tropical season- Let's hope!!!
  12. You can order your State Birth Certificate @ vitalchek.com it takes about 10 to 14 business days. Then you can order your passport which takes 8 weeks.
  13. Jamaicabride09- are you having the candle option 2 & 4 in addition to the centerpiece that they already provide with the $75 reception or are you replacing it? Also are you using the chair sashes at wedding ceremony site and reception? I looove candles so I def. want candles! I am a little stuck on colors. My Save The Dates were brown with that Aqua Tiffany color which I love but I am having trouble figuring out to incorporate it with our decorations. You planning your reception indoors? Is the location choose before we go or when we get there? What are you doing for your ceremony decor? Sorry so many questions! You seem to know what your doing though! Thanks for your guidance!
  14. okay so my wedding is scheduled for 4pm...we want it on the beach...not sure of the receptoin location yet BUT lets just say we did have a reception on the beach- what happens if the 3pm bride/groom also want to have a reception in the same area? I know the weddings are an hour apart but confused how the reception works, especially since we are planning for a 3 hour reception....
  15. The new law passed on June 1, 2009 requires you to have a passport for travel... Also, the Sandals resort in Jamaica that we are getting married at requires us to get our birth certs notorized then sent out to them like 60 days(?) prior to wedding, in order to be a legal marriage.
  16. petals- what did you do for music during your reception? (if you had one) Did you continue to use the steel band or DJ or IPOD? I am getting married in Jamaica as well and I am a litlle lost on this one!
  17. great ideas ladies! Now I am overwhelmed!! Okay hopefully there are some Sandals brides out there to help answer this? Do I bring my Bose system & Ipod and just play these songs in a certain order or how does this work? I guess I should have thought of this!
  18. Okay this is random but I am sure most of you have looked at the decoration options in the packet that Sandals provides......I LOVE the lumminary set-up for the reception on the beach- it looks soooo pretty! I want to see more pictures of this! Has anyone seen any? I am paying for the $75 reception but curious how this looks if I didn't add in the luminary set-up. Does anyone know? I am really hoping to hav eit as close to the beach as possible! JamaicaBride09- Hi there! I am just curious what are you doing in regard to decorations...from what I gather you are paying for the $75 as well....
