I would be pretty concerned about the weather. But, if you are flexible if there's a hurricane or rain or something and wouldn't mind a last minute change to in-doors, I say go for it! I'm sure the prices are much cheaper.

Thanks for posting the link! Very helpful, but it looks like it hasn't been updated since 2005. Hopefully that means they haven't increased the prices. I am still in the very early stages so keep us posted if anyone talks to them or books there. I've been to the resort, it's gorgeous!

I am just curious about any information related to the Omni Cancun. I haven't really noticed anyone discussing it at all... I found some very old information online but was wondering if anyone had looked into it or all or booked. Thanks! Marianne

I think that's a very nice gesture, but remember they are on vacation too... and too many plans for them may be overwhelming. I guess it just depends on the guests.

My advice is for you and your groom to each pick what is the most important detail of the wedding and decide to splurge a little on those things, the rest you can cut a few corners or eliminate. For example, for us it is the photographer and my dress

i love that idea of the beads so people can introduce themselves. i think we may do a casual meet in the lobby for drinks but i do agree people should enjoy their vacation too and not be tied down to too many activities. we're considering an optional excursion one day for anyone who is in town the day prior or after.
