Is an AHR expected after a DW?

I don't want to have an AHR but it seems like it's expected for those who choose to have a DW. Do I have to let people know that there won't be one when I send invites or anything?

So funny that you say that, I was planning on making a pillow for our first child's crib with the excess material since I doubt that a) i'll christen my child and there will be enough for a cute dress. A woman I know cut up her wedding gown and made dresses for her twin daughters for easter.

Yeah the cost is definitely a factor. I want to keep my dress forever though so I've got to do something with it.

Hi, I intend on having a fairly simple dress for my beach wedding and want to be able to alter it and maybe dye it to wear as my formal dress on cruises or other events. (no TTD shoot for me) I just don't know if it is a realistic thought or not, haha. So....Has anyone successfully altered their wedding gown into a dress that's wearable later on?

What will you (or did you) do to celebrate your cultures/traditions during your ceremony, if anything?? I'm Jamaican/AfricanAmerican. I've always wanted to "jump the broom" (an african/ african american tradition) and we're still going to even though FI is Irish. I want to also find an Irish tradition to work into the ceremony as well. Just curious if anyone else is bringing your culture(s) into the ceremony? Or maybe some of the culture of the place where you're choosing to get married.

I guess we'll see what's up with funds, but I kinda like the idea of doing the wedding at say, RIU Mo'Bay and then going to Couples Swept Away or another adults-only Negril resort for the honeymoon....
