Chicago.. Great news to hear! Thanks so much! Also, if I were in the RST I would imagine the "modern" room not the other one. My mom said my travel agent mentioned trying to get us an upgrade. I told my mom I hope its to a Romance Suite in the Bavaro and not in the RST because I would only want to be on that side if it were the *new* section. BTW, your pictures are beautiful!

Chicago... thanks for all the info! Glad to know we can take our bracelets off. I wonder for our TTD the day after if they will let us take them off? I guess we will deal with whatever we have to do! I didn't get a pic of my dress actually, and now its at my grandfathers house lol. I was wondering if anyone can give me the run down on the TTD session though. Do you tell them what you want or how does it work. I got them to switch to 5pm unless someone books a wedding. Unfortunately we are NOT morning people and pictures before noon are not going to look good on us lmao! Hopefully we can stick to the 5pm time! I kinda want nice pics and TTD pics. Maybe even pool pics? Do you get to choose between pool/beach? Can anyone explain how this works? Thanks in advance!

Chicago.... CONGRATS!!! I am sorry to hear how horrible the room service was! I am really nervous because I have heard mixed room reviews and have been contemplating RST. I chose the Bavaro side for our guests and us, and have decided I can't afford the NEW RST and I really would only like to be on that side if I were in the new section. With that said, we chose a Junior Suite on the Bavaro side. I thought about the Romance Suites, but we decided to spend an extra night there instead. I am still debating the Romance Suites, but now I just got my hours cut at work and we are having some financial problems to top it off! With that said, we will most likely be staying in our junior suite. I am glad your wedding went great. I will definitely remember to bring my email copies! How does the semi private reception work? Does she give you a choice of dinner times to choose for your reception? What time was your ceremony, and what did you do in between your ceremony and dinner? I can't wait to see pictures ROXY1122.... Do you know how the Romance Suites compared to the Junior Suites? I am getting anxious and can't wait for April to be here! Do I need to make decisions before I get there? If so, someone please tell me what should be done before I arrive! I am feeling so unorganized! Thanks! I have recently been thinking about this as well. I have been looking for styles I like.... anyone recommend up, down, or half/half for DR weather? I was hoping my friend who does hair could come and do mine, but it looks like she won't be able to make it. I will have no choice but to use the resort services. Hopefully they do a good job! I will be doing my own makeup (as of now) since I am pretty simple and don't like over-the-top looks. I am going to try and have my friend do a trial make-up and hair just to get an idea and maybe take pics to show the resort people. I am assuming these people do wedding hair all the time though! (or so I hope)

If I were to book in the Royal, I'd stay in the new section. Its more updated and has more of a "romantic" feel then the old section. We decided to stay in the same section as our guests since it'd be pointless to pay extra and spend most of our time outside of the Royal section. Enjoy!

I'm not sure. I have to look at the menu's again. I think people were saying the beef was the best choice. I have to look through the options again. I may have less than 14 people so that would make it easier (since the website says you only need a set menu for over 14). Did you decide what you are choosing? And does anyone know the flavors the cake is and if there are choices of design?

Yay! I just realized we are less than 4 months away! I still have so much to do lol... I think this month my goal is to get a dress! We don't have many people going, just immediate family (unless people decide to go last minute). Thank goodness because its less to worry about for me! Hope your planning is going well! I think the biggest selling points about GP for us were: 1. They don't charge a per person fee like many other all inclusive resorts do. This allows you to have as many people as you want. If you wish to pay extra, you can have a private party on the beach or close the restaurant to just you and your guests. Like I said, these are optional so you are not obligated to pay the extra costs for the extra services. 2. Stay at one, play at 3 (or 4). They offer the Bavaro, Punta Cana, and Palace Sections. This allows guests to choose which type of room they want and how much they wish to spend. They also have The Royal Suites Adult Only Section for people who wish to spend a little more money, but have Adult Only / Royal perks! 3. The wedding coordinator was pretty quick with her response to my wedding inquiry, which surprised me considering some places took over a month to respond! I think everyone has an "idea" of what they dream their wedding day will be. I would look and see what fits your "idea" the best! Good luck and congrats on your engagement!

I emailed her regarding the increase and she said it was definitely only legal ceremonies that were increasing in price. Thank goodness because I was a little nervous about an increase in price lol. I'm relieved!

I don't think that is the case. I know it says if you have more than 14 you will have a set menu, but I never read that you HAD to pay for a private reception if you had more than 20. When someone gets a definite response on this, please post!
