  1. I may have missed this infor, but is his price $330 per person? I have myself & 5 bridesmaids that want to get their makeup done, so do we each pay that, or is that the total cost?
  2. Ladies, I need some help/advice/ideas.... My FI and I were originally planning to do shot glasses & a mini bottle of tequila for our favors....but since we have a mix in ages, I thought margarita glasses would be more appreciated. Especially, since our main color is cobalt & you can find glasses with a cobalt rim...but here are my questions: 1. We already have 45 people booked & they are more expensive than shot glasses...but I feel they will be WAY more appreciated 2. How in the world will we get them down there ...without breaking on the plane, or going over a weight limit?? Shipping them right there is too expensive. 3. We found some we like, that aren't CRAZY expensive, but if anyone else has a great (cheap) website for glassware, I'd appreciate it!!
  3. Girls- just a reminder, don't forget that you can bargain with a lot of the stores down there...ESPECIALLY when you plan to buy in bulk. There are a TON of stores & vendor carts in PDC that have the mini bottles (we checked into it when we were down there for our site visit for the exact same reason). There are so many places to get them & they want your business, so hagle a bit!
  4. Alright- I have some questions for any former Catholic brides.... How did they set up the ceremony? Is it a full mass? Do they let you choose the readings & music? I can't find any answers to that.

Since they don't give a really good description I have a hard time invisioning what the presentation of the food will look like. Would love to see photos. Thanks for the help! The reason there aren't pictures is because they don't want to be tied to one specific presentation- but I wouldn't stress about it. They do an AMAZING job for the food presentation. Even at the restaurants, it's really impressive.
  6. This is a great question! I had been wondering what I would do as well... I wasn't sure if I would feel funny wearing my dress again....but then I got my dress and I'm so excited that I get to wear it twice!!!

The showers don't have a separate door. i.e. if someone is at the sink, there is nothing separating them from the person in the shower. There is a separate door to the toilet though.

I don't know if they change them according to the time of year? I don't have any pictures of the grill. Sorry!

We were in contact with the WC before we went down and let her know we wanted to do a tasting.

We were so nervous....but were soooo surprised and happy!! Even the presentation was amazing!

They don't use different bouquets for different packages. Anyway, they can do anything that is native to the area for no charge. Anything like colored cala lilies are extra charge (they said the white ones are not though). Just send them a picture of what you want and see if they can do it.

They serve frozen drinks poolside and in the open air grills during the day every day, so I would imagine they do the same for the receptions since they are already set up for it.
  18. Stunning! Your figure is perfect for this dress!!! Congrats!
  19. Hi girls! I have been MIA for September, it's the busiest month for us teachers! Anyway, I am sorry, I still have pictures of all the reception & cocktail options from our site visit in August that I specifically took for all you girls. I guess I have to put them on shutterfly or something like that & just post the link. I've been catching up reading the last few pages that I've missed & it seems a lot of you are starting to get really upset. I know it's hard, but having been down there & seeing what the WC does, just try to relax and cut them some slack. You have to remember that when it is your day, they will be focused on YOU, and not the 3,000 emails of the same question that they get a day. I know it's hard bc we are trying to plan & need the correct info...believe me, I get that...it's frustrating!! ....but at the same time, try to understand their side of it too. I really don't think (from my experience) they are trying to nickel & dime. Some of their policies are annoying (photog & DJ)- but most of the resorts do this. Yes, the Barcelo's price is a little higher than other resorts, but in all fairness we knew that going in. The resort is absolutely stunning...and sometimes in life, you get what you pay for....hopefully, we will all be getting beautiful weddings filled with moments that will stay with us and our guests.

It's really nice, but its smaller. We are staying at the Palace but our reception in front of the beach at the Tropical bc we are having 50 people.
