  2. Well now I am a little worried too Gaby was my wedding coordinator, and I have been trying to get a hold of her to see how I send my deposit. Has everyone sent their deposit for the wedding to Dreams directly, or through their travel agent? Just not sure what to do now.. she had said she wanted the deposit by March 14.. I don't want to lose my date for some reason!

I am so tempted to cancel eveyrthing else and just have the ceremony there and head over to a local restuarant like you ladies. They are such criminals with all the money we pay for our wedding, on top of what our guests pay to stay in the hotel UUGGHHH I have a friend who is getting married at the Paradisus and her WC is sooo on point. You wouldnt beleive it!! She has everything taken care of, they offer all sorts of pictures, packages, she responds back within the hour its AMAZING. I am so down on Dreams. I wanted to get another photographer too, because I figure if I am spending an extra $1000 for him to stay the whole time I may as well get someone who is truly talented.. I am so choked though, I emailed Gabriela back to confirm if I switched my package from the Ultimate to the Dreams of Love, what I could subsitute for the photographer.. but she has ignored me now for a week! Before that, she was answering all my questions within the day! I had been so impressed with their service! I don't want to just book a photographer and find out what she for some reason won't let me.. so frustrating!!

Image selection is mostly based on our own creative vision. We include photos from every portion of your day in order to encapsulate your entire wedding story into the album. Ultimately, if you like our photographic style and the sample albums online, you can expect much the same look and feel in your Cornerstone album. Once design is complete, the album will take 2-3 weeks to be printed and delivered to your home. Our Cornerstone Album covers are personalized for YOU! Leather is also an option that can be added for $50 to $100, depending on your album size. Leather covers are beautiful but are not customizable to include photos or text. We do welcome your input as to what you would like in your album, but this option will cause a delay on the delivery of your album. These special requests normally can not be made until you receive your photo package from us in the mail. If you choose to go this route, we cannot begin designing your album until you have reviewed your package. This will significantly affect the delivery time of your album. We ask that you keep special requests to a minimal, as this does create alot of overhead for us. You can be assured we will include all your favorites if you want to wait for your package, or you can leave it up to us. Either way, we will delivery you an album that you will be very happy with. Prints We do not supply prints with our packages. A typical Full Day Package has over 1000 full resolution images supplied for you. The cost of printing out all pictures and shipping those to you from Mexico is not economical and would cause our package prices to be much higher. We suggest you have only the prints developed that you want to display and use a good quality printer. Our packages come with instructions on how to develop your pictures for best image results. This allows us to offer you the best possible value for you money. Other services: Engagement Shoot - 2 to 3 hours of you and your fiance. Popular settings include 5th Avenue Playa Del Carmen and Tulum Ruins/Beach! In Combination with Full day package, $400 Otherwise, $800. Trash the Dress - 2 to 3 hours "trashing" your dress after the wedding. Some popular shots are: laying together on the beach, kissing in the water, jumping in the pool, etc. In Combination with Full day package, $400 Otherwise, $800. Girls Day Out - 2 to 3 hours of you and your bridesmaids having fun in the sun. Fun group shots of you and the girls on the beach, in the water, or whatever you choose! In Combination with Full day package, $400 Otherwise, $800. Our services will require you to pay for our entrance onto the resort property. Please note: All prices are in USD (including tax)

I have sent emails to Moments that matters (just this morning.. thanks mummergirl!), Claudia Rodriguez, and Michael Maurus (Wedding Photographer for Cancun, Riviera Maya) I received a response back from Michael already, and this company is reasonably priced. Has anyone actually done the legal ceremony at Dreams? It seems like most people are opting for the symbolic ceremony. I am so torn, because I feel like I won't be able to lie to everyone.. they will know for sure! I am just wondering how much of a hassle it was to get your blood work etc done at Dreams, and if it really is that big of a deal. Gaby tells me that it can take up to six months to get your marriage certificate back.. but I am not really that concerned about that.. I am actually more concerned about not having all my paperwork ready and everything, plus it is a lot more expensive than getting married in Canada..

Any other DT brides in Oct/Nov? I wonder if I'm starting out too late?! That's funny that you say that because we just did the same thing.. only just decided to have our wedding.. I have got as far as contacting the wedding coordinator at Dreams Cancun, and I am getting a contract written up this week. If you are trying to decide I would highly recommend looking on the posts on this forum. I had been doing that the past 2 weeks and that is how I came to decide on Dreams Cancun. We are getting married on October 1, 2009 since it is our 10 year anniversary.. so we are really rushing things too.. but for a destination wedding there is so much less to do.. you shouldn't really fret..

Honestly it feels like you are almost in Florida or something.. it is not very Mexican at all.. and most of the stores/ restaurants are things that you would find in America. If people that are complaining about how unsafe it is, remind them of this. This is one of the reasons we chose Cancun because my FI stepmom had been to the Mayan and felt it was unsafe.. I have been to Jamaica, Hawaii and other parts of Mexico and I felt probably the most safe in Cancun even compared to Honolulu in parts..

  16. Here is some information that someone left on another forum for canadians. I know I am confused myself what all has to happen when it comes to getting married in mexico! Apostille Canada | Authentication Canada | Legalization Canada | Red Seal Notary: Canada's Leading Notary Public Company
  17. HartyT509.. I was totally thinking of doing the same thing.. going for a free wedding, and then going out for dinner with everyone that night instead. We are then probably just going to end up doing a reception at home afterwards anyways for everyone that couldn't come.. so it makes more sense to me then having two first dances, DJ's etc.. but I wondered how the people that were coming would feel about this? I am glad to see that someone else is on the same page as me! I don't have any total numbers or not yet, because I haven't even confirmed my date..
  18. I am a new member from Vancouver, BC Canada. I am hoping to get married at Dreams Cancun in October 2009, but I am awaiting a confirmation that the date is available.
  19. I am new to the forum, but I have spent quite some time reading through all of the messages everyone has posted. I am so glad that I have found this forum, it has helped me decide that I want to get married at Dreams Cancun. I have been going back and forth with Gabriela the last few days trying to confirm a wedding date for October 1, 2009. Thanks to everyone who has posted, it really has helped me a lot to read through everyone's comments!
