  1. Hi there, my daughter got married there in April and it was awesome, I had made all the arrangements by e mail and was a bit leary if it would turn out ok but they are absolutely awesome there, it was her fairytale wedding, they got married on the beach had a reception downstairs in one of the rooms and had a full course meal, it was reallt good, once you get there they discuss everything with you and you can make sure everything is what you want, there wedding cake was beautiful along with the flowers, actually the flowers were unbelievable... the pictures were taken in the room before the ceremony during the ceremony and then about a half an hour after the ceremony on the beach, the reception was supposed to be up on the roof but due to wind they moved us downstaris and it was good. funver photographer was who we hired and they did a awesome job, the video was ready the next morning...I think all the stress will be soooo worth it....congrats to you and I hope its the day you have always imagined...

  3. Hey Sandy, it was my daughter that got married this last April at the Gran Caribe and it was awesome amazing beautiful and everything she has always dreamed about. The staff there were marvelous and we did use the funever in house photographers and the pictures were amazing and didn't break the bank either, they had the dvd ready the day after the wedding, I really can't say enough good things about the Gran Caribe, the wedding coordinator was Patti Hernandez and she was really really good, but she was leaving on mat leave and I'm not sure if she was returning. Just make sure they understand exactly what it is you want, the language barrier could be a problem if you don't explain yourselves quite well. We had the wedding on the beach. Good luck and have a great wedding.

  12. This is for Debbielea or anyone that is getting married at the gran caribe, We are so undicided about the reception, there are only going to be 30 of us so we are wondering if we should do the ala carte restaurant and then have drinks and speeches and a short dance on the terrace, we do already have the terrace booked for 4 hours, but are just real unsure about the meal and what to do...the menu patty sent us just didn't really appeal to us...darn fussy people huh...if anyone could help thank you very much.. My friend who is coming to the wedding is a hairdresser and a makeup artist so she will be doing all of us girls. Sorry I can't help you on that. I do know that my mother has been to the spa at the Royal and she said it was great. I was originally born in Ontario Canada and I had to get my Birth Cert. legalized from the Mexican Consolate after getting certified by the Ministry of Government for Ontario. I did have to get FI apostiolle done because he is American. It was pretty easy. I called the record dept and explain what I need it so they told me to just write a letter requesting for a long form BC and that it needs an apostiolle and they forward it to the State dept that does that for a fee of $10.00 and the fee for a long form BC was $40.00. Once I received all that information I forward just the Long form BC to World Access Translation for a fee of $40.00 each they translated each BC. I do remember somewhere in my reading that Alberta is has different rules for you. I would contact the Mexican consulate and see what you have to do or call the local govement office and see if they can direct you. I did all of my paper work over the summer of 2008 so it was out of the way. Nothing expries and it will all be within the year so Patty said that would be perfect. Some ladies on here have gotten legally married without any of these paper work but Patty said that I need it in order to have a legal wedding.Flowers I will just use in house due to the fact I'm only getting my bouquet and a boutonniere for him. My flower girl and 3 other girls will be carring a Parasols instead of flower. I hope this helps somewhat. Sorry for such a long write up. Hi Carolyn, Well the good news is patty e mailed me and told me the laws have changed and been the kids are single not divorced or whatever that they no do not need the aposilles, all they now need is their passports and the tourist card we get on the plane, we have had the bc notorized the only thing we havent done it take it to the mexican colsulate, so now from what I understand we dont need too....sure wish we would have know all this before but oh well, thank you so much for all the info we really really appriciate it. I lovet it is like 70´s style. Hi, Iam so glad to find someone who has gone down to see and check things out, about the dance, I thought with having the reception and the five hours of bartender and waiter service we would just have the meal a few speeches and the turn some music on and have a couple hours for a dance, do we hae to rent a different area for the dance or can we just have it along with the reception, I guess I should ask patty, everytime I ask patty a question it cost me more money, ha ha, oh well I guess thats what a wedding is all about . Thanks for you information. Bette-Jo

I would love to see a video made by funever so if you get a link or anything would love if you could pass that info along. Have fun and Good Luck down there. Hi Carolyn, I was just wondering if you know anything about the hairdressing and flower shops, are there outside flower shops or do we hae to go with the in house prices and the grasn does not have a hair salon so we have to go next door to the sister resort was just wondering if you have any different ifnformation on this. We are from Canada and need to get an aposilles, did you have to get that done too? Thanks for any and all info. Bette-Jo
