  1. Oh, and please PM me if you have questions so we can email outside of the forum. Its hard for me to remember to keep logging on;-)
  2. Okay, I just went back through the recent messages and saw some of the questions so I will try and address. ASP is attempting to get harder rules on the outside photographer thing but it doesn't seem like the WC's make you stick to it. Dulce kind of grimaced when I told her I needed guest passes for my photographers, but she did it. She just said don't mention it to anyone. So..I suggest, that you just have your photographers check in for the day like normal guests--you don't have to tell anyone who they are or what they do--your WC will just ask you the names that you need on the passes and that is all you need to say. That is my suggestion;-) I had my rehearsal dinner at Mundaca and we weren't on the small patio that Rach220 was describing but just one level up --we actually asked for that because it was just sprinkling as we walked over--the view from this area (which is much bigger) is absolutely the same and its nice because it is covered. Also, we had the whole side of this area so they really did a nice job of making it feel private even for just our rehearsal dinner. I used the videographer from the resort and he was fantastic. We weren't sure what to expect but he does a great job! We had made a CD of the music that we wanted on it (suggestion from a previous bride on here;-) and it worked out perfectly. the really cool thing is that you usually get it before you leave because it only takes a few days. It was nice to come home with that because people are asking for pictures right away--usually your formal pics take a while so it was nice to have the video. We used Moments that Matter photography for our pictures and they were fantastic--I posted a quick review on them under their thread if you would like to read it. I never thought about uploading our video to utube..I will look into that and let you know. The only other pictures I have at this point are from guests..but as soon as I have anything official I will let you know. Hope this helps!
  3. Hi Ladies I was married on Oct 23rd at ASP and I promise to get my review up soon. I am having my AHR next weekend so I've been busy with that from the moment we came home! ASP was great..they did a fantastic job with everything and they were very accomodating! The service is AMAZING...I made a comment to my WC the day before my wedding about a small mud patch and the next day the mud patch became this beautiful flower garden--all just to make the ground look prettier! I had a party of 25 and we ate together most nights and space was never an issue. They would have 5-8 waiters on our table and a glass was never left unfilled. They go out of their way to make sure that your experience is perfect. We choose the north end to be married because we liked the privacy and the horse and carriage can come directly up to the gazebo--which I loved! I added some stuff to the ceremony script because otherwise it is very generic and short--beware those of you that are doing the legal ceremony! I added the hand ceremony and a sand ceremony and we did our own vows. We had our reception at the piano terrace which was beautiful--I wasn't sure if I liked the piano or the pandero terrance better but went with the piano because it was closer to my gazebo. Plus, we had a few rain showers the day before and I was nervous the same thing would happen on my day (piano is covered, pandero is not). Our food was fantastic at the wedding and their was plenty! We had the mexican trio play for the ceremony and that was great--gave a nice authentic feel to the ceremony. We made a playlist for the reception and that worked out great. We added tiki torches around the terrance--which I think is a great touch for any reception! The day after my wedding there was another event at one of the "reception huts" that I saw and they had these beautiful chiffon looking sheets put up around the outside--not enough that it blocked your view, but just large enough to have them blowing in the wind and they were white--so it really added to the romantic look. I wish I would have seen them before my wedding because I would have definitely added them. I'm not sure if they resort provided them or what, but I just thought I'd let you all know that it really made it even more beautiful. Please feel free to PM me if you have any other questions!! Promises to add more after the 14th!
  4. Hello Everyone--I just posted this review under another thread, but through it may be helpful here as well ! I was married on Oct 23rd and hired Lincoln and Lori--Hands down, the best photographers I have ever experienced! My background is similar to that of "27 dresses" where I have been a bridesmaid more times than I wish to admit--however, that has given me the knowledge of what I did and did not want in my photographers. Lincoln and Lori were incredible--they really care about your pictures and that is evident in every minute of working with them! They will hang 6 feet in the air upside down to get the best angle for your pictures. I also loved having two photographers--this was a great asset if you wanted to capture pics of both bride/groom without any time delays. They have this amazing way of bouncing ideas off each other the entire time and give each other ideas as the other is creating shots--its really amazing to see their chemistry and their love for the art of photography. Please feel free to email me with any questions! We used them for both the wedding and a TTD session!

  6. Hi Ladies I've been so busy these last few months I've hardly had time to check the forum! I am leaving on the 19th (married on the 23rd) and am soooo freaking out!! ;-) All these last minute details are so stressful! My WC is Dulce and she told me that they don't use the red runners anymore?? She said they removed them--has anyone else heard that? If not, any other solutions to that? My other issue is that we do have reservations at the Mundaca restaurant but I didn't want to print my final welcome letters with all the schedules/itineary on it because I'm afraid once I get down there I will change my mind. Many of the brides have said they switched gazebos and dinner/reception places. I know they have a business center but I hope they allow you to print stuff! I only have one bridesmaid so I am buying her bouquet, but I did make the groomsmens boutonnieres out of silk flowers. If I had a bigger party I would definitely look at buying the flowers elsewhere! I am also worried about the room situation. People keep calling and asking how they are going to find us. Ducle told me that she could give me a room list once we get down there. Does anyone know how the group booking go? Most of us booked through the same travel agent so do they try to keep you in the same area? Thanks again for all the advice and help!!
  7. HI Everyone! Has anyone had an issue with the red aisle runner? I am only asking because my colors are pink and orange and I just think the red may clash. Do you know if we are allowed to have it removed? Dinyell--I am freaking out too..so much last minute stuff that I feel clueless on;-)
  8. Hello ladies I really want to wear a flower in my hair, but I want to wear my hair down. My hair is long..probably hits on my bra strap on my back. All of the pics that are attached are all with hair up...does anyone have any pics or ideas of how to attach the flower with your hair down?? Thanks!!
  9. Hi ladies I was actually confused about this as well because 6 months ago the website stated that you needed the apostille, but now it does not list that as a requirement. I talked to my WC and she said the law in Mexico changed and you no longer need the apostille document--just the certified birth certificate. That is why they updated it on their website. Hope that helps!
  10. HI ladies I have one groomsmen who is an 3XL to 4 XL..not necessarily in the shoulders but more in the belly;-) I want them to wear white linenish shirts and sand colored linen pants. I can find the pants in a larger size but I'm really struggling with the shirts. the only white shirts I can find are plain and very "grandpa" looking..I can find anything trendy in the 3XL or 4XL sizes... Any advice?
  11. My FI would like to get certified, but its very expensive in our area. I heard that you can get certified in Mexico rather cheaply and it only takes a day or two. Does anyone have any information on this? Please share! Thanks!
  12. HI Ladies!! My heart goes out to you Jena. I do believe everything happens for a reason so maybe the local wedding will be meant to be!! I am also still full steam ahead with my wedding on Oct 23rd. I am thinking it won't be an issue by then..we'll see! A few questions for those that have been there since the change of allowing children--Have you noticed the children a lot? Does it ruin the idea of being on a romantic resort? Also, since they changed the wedding packages--I would like to keep my old package that I signed up for back in February. Has anyone had issues with them trying to convert you to the new ones? I like the idea of the extra decor, but the price seemed better on the old ones for everythign it included. I don't need the spa treatments, but I wanted teh mariachi band and all that. Thoughts?
  13. Forgive me for sounding ignorant, but why wouldn't you just do the entire legal ceremony in Mexico? Is there an advantage to doing the legal part before you go?
  14. Hi Ladies Question..I think I actually prefer the previous packages. Do you know if we signed up in our contract with the previous packages if we can keep them? Or do we have to now pick from these? Thanks!
  15. This can all be so confusing..;-) FLOWERS AND CAKE Jena, Rach220--My WC also emailed me the flower selection and I just figured those were the ones that were included in our package. She also sent me the cakes via email and some were small and some were large (or at least two tiered). From what I understand OhioBride wanted a specific cake so she sent the picture and description and she did have to pay extra for that. However, I think that the ones pictured are included. I'm not sure about the free package, but I know the superior and deluxe package include the large cake. OhioBride--did you find that not everything that was emailed to you for choices was included? RECEPTION-- Yes, any private event has an additional charge to it--the cocktail reception (which includes appetizers) is $400 for up to 20 people for one hour..but I think an entire private reception (dinner included) is $40/pp --so its definitely more expensive for the whole reception. OhioBride--can you clarify how they charge you for the reception? thanks everyone!
  16. Hi Ladies! OhioBride--I look forward to reading your review! Thank you! Jena--we were actually going to do a cocktail reception for 2 hours right after the ceremony and then go to dinner. However, in emailing with Rach220 I may switch my order around..I'm still not sure yet. Anyway, I didn't really think about the length of dinner since that didn't originally matter for my set-up. I did email the music guy and its like $220 to rent the system to play your IPOD. I need to look again but I think that was for 2 hours. I've heard that the Mexican restaurant was really good..I really haven't heard a whole lot of negative about either restaurant. You could also wait until you get there and try a few and then pick. I think they are pretty flexible unless you have a HUGE party. Rach220--your OOT bags sound great and i don't mean to sound cheap, but it sounds like each bag with all its contents is pricey. It sounds like everyone does them from reading the forums so I suppose its necessary, but I just feel like it could get expensive. ARe you doing one for each guest or one per room? Thanks!!
  17. Hi, I am not getting married until October but am ready to confirm photographers and travel reservations. However, I'm nervous with all the stuff going on in Mexico recently. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I heard this morning that they are advising people not to travel there??
  18. Ohio Bride--it looks like you had the Mariacho band for your wedding ceremony--did you like it? Also, does anyone know why you only have to pick four songs for the cermony?? I realize the ceremony is short, but with four songs does it play consistently? Thanks!

  20. Hi everyone Does anyone know how far away the closest golf course is? I know some of my guests will want to golf... Also, how far away are teh other resorts that we are allowed to use for "free"? Thanks!
  21. JC)721--the adults only thing really threw me for a loop because I really had liked the idea of an adults only resort. However, I haven't decided yet if its enough to have me choose another place. What resort are you going with now?
  22. Have a fantastic wedding ohiobride15!!! Please clue us in when you return. Wonder why some people had to pay for the photographer to stay overnight and your photographer had to just get a day pass..
  23. Thanks for the links! How close is the Puerto Aventuras cruise? Also, the roof toop terrace that is pictured in those links--is that the rooftop on top of the Mundace restaurant? If so, it looks huge...does anyone know how many people it holds? I only have 25-30 people so that is why I was leaning towards the Pandera because it looks more intimate. Any thoughts on that? I've also heard some things about some rooms being newer than others--does anyone know any about the north or south side being renovated? Dinyell--I haven't locked in my date but I am thinking Oct 24! We may run into each other!
