I found you information very helpful. I have a player club card with MGM, but could not remember my PW so I called to see if someone could help me. After being on hold for 15 minutes, I just hung up and decided to just stay at the RIO which I've stayed at 3 times already and love the fact that they are an All Suite hotel! My FI stayed at MGM and totally loved it! He said their beds were the most comfortable of any other hotels he's every stayed at, so I was a little disappointed with the customer service. Hello All: We are also getting married in Vegas on September 9, 2009. We are expecting around 40 guests (33 have already booked). I thought planning a Vegas wedding would be a breeze, but it was a harder than I thought. Mainly, because we needed to know the number of guest in order to properly book a venue. We didn't want to pay for guest we weren't expecting. A lot of places who do package weddings have a minimum and you pay the same price whether you have that number of guest or not. So, I sent out a save the date and told everyone that they needed to tell me by tomorrow. We will now work on sending invites. I feel a huge burden has been lifted, now I can properly plan! Hello: Has anyone having a LV wedding blocked rooms for the guest? I wanted to block a number of rooms with the Harrah's Hotel Chain. Imagine my surprise Harrah's will only block rooms if you are planning to set aside 50 rooms or more? , so I am curious as to what other LV's brides choose. Thanks

My FI had the same opinion as you. I was leaning more towards having the guest view our website for more info, but I think you two may be on to something. Thanks for your sharing your experience. Hello: I am at a crossroads! I am not sure if I should book a location first or send out my invites first. I want to book a place so that I can put it on my invites, but I don't want to book a place based on a minimum, that I may or may not have. We have a wedding website. I am thinking to send out the invites and tell people to send in RSVPs both there and by card and to continue to view the website for wedding location updates. Is this a good idea? When we got engaged, we first decided on a wedding date of 4/24/10, but then after planning we changed it to 09/09/09. As you can see there is a difference of 7 months. We also change our location choice from Mexico to Vegas. My dear FI & my dear MIL were in a hurry to send out the engagement announcement that we hadn't fully discuss the what, when and how. So those went out with our 04/24/10 wedding date out. Had we discussed it, we could have put more information on the EA and my head wouldn't be spinning right now! Enjoy your weekend...

Ladies: You are totally making rethink the ceremony/reception same place theme. The Wynn is lovely, but since they didn't have a food beverage etc package I started looking at other places. What are you doing for photos/video of the ceremony/reception? And I to assume that there will be no first dance, mom/son & father/daughter dance? Sorry for all the questions, but I am trying to keep my options open and you ladies have this down to a science. Thanks again!

Hello Lolkitteh: You are a fountain of information! Thanks for sharing. I think that is a bit pricey, but I may not have a choice. One of the things I found appealing about going aboard is that most places offered dress steaming in their wedding package. I am very surprised that Vegas has not jumped on the dress steaming bandwagon.

Is your ceremony & reception in the same location? How many guest are you expecting? Hello: Has anyone come across a place (reception/chapel or other) in Vegas that has offered steaming of your wedding dress. While searching abroad it was always offered in the packages, but I have yet to see it offered in Vegas. Thanks

Hello: After much consideration, my FI and I decided that Vegas is the best place for us to get married. There was just something about flying in to Vegas and that being your wedding day if you wish. In my opinion Vegas is a lot less hassle than getting married abroad and definitely a lot less hassle then doing it at home. Our original wedding date was April 24, 2010, but while checking out wedding sites I saw packages for 09/09/09. We both liked the idea, so we have now changed our wedding date. We got engaged on New Years Eve 2009, so it really doesn't leave me a lot of time to prepare. I have a few questions to ask my fellow Vegas Brides (past & present) is this? Where are (did) you getting married? Would you recommend the venue? Were the packages the offered reasonable. How many guest? If you have recommendations, I would love to hear them. Thanks Z

Hello Susan: Thanks for the photos. I tried to find more info on the country club in your area that you mentioned was quite expensive, but had very little success. Do you happen to remember their prices and could you guide me to where I could find pics. Their site isn't very user friendly. Thanks & congrats on your upcoming nuptials. P.S. After much consideration...I think I may be getting married in Vegas Baby! I looked at all the Caribbean island, and could not find a location that I would be completely happy with. One location would have nice aspects to it, but there was always something (blood test, translations, mandatory stays etc.). While, I still believe that getting married abroad is still appealing, to ask people to spend money on passports and possible visas during a time when many may be watching every dollar, was in part why I decided against an wedding abroad. We will still honeymoon abroad (most likely Hawaii). I would love to hear from the Vegas brides on their experiences. And from anyone else as to if these decisions played a part in your final decisions. Thanks ladies for reading my rants....LOL

I like the second choice. I am more of the non-traditional type. My ring has a vintage look to it, and the band is also non-traditional. I think that the second choice blends much nicer.
