  1. Is anyone getting married the first week of November at Dreams Cancun?

  4. Hi ladies! I live right outside Boston in Malden and am getting married at Dreams Cancun in 3 1/2 weeks...so excited!!

It is definitely helpful to get the extra people as an exchange. I agree that $52 is reasonable. If I was getting married at home, I would pay much more than that and I wouldn't be dancing the night away on a beautiful beach:)
  6. Be persistent about what you want. It took a lot of effort and complaining, but I eventually did a cost analysis of the swaps they were giving me and the amount of revenue they were getting frommy guests and was able to get everything I asked for. It pays to be a pain:)
  7. Maybe it's $93 for cocktail hour and dinner. That makes more sense. I am skipping the cocktail hour since all the guests can drink for free at the lobby bar anyway. A lot of the brides on this forum have done that and said it worked out wonderfully. I exchanged the cocktail hour for 15 extra people at dinner since we are having 43 guests and only 20 are covered in the package. The price I was quoted for dinner was $42 + 15% service fee + 10% tax so a total of $52.50 per person. Hope that helps clarify.

Wedding Video London I think your friend will really appreciate the sentiment, however, I would do something less conspicuous so it can be personal for her. Of course, you know her best, so go with your gut and give her what you think she'd like. Maybe you could talk to her mom and see if there was any special little thing between them...for instance, a teddy bear her gave her that she had forever. Then you could do something like give her a teddy bear pin that she could attach to her flowers on her wedding day. Just and idea. Good luck! I know you will make it special for her.
  11. Just to let you ladies know, I am paying closer to $50pp for the extra guests not included in the package (over 20).
  12. Hi ladies! I just ordered my OOT bags this week and wanted to share with you all. They were $5.99 each and are really cute. I liked them the best becuase they are beachy and can be re-used. Check them out: Palm Leaf Handle Bag $5.99
  13. I found most of the starfish necklaces on ebay. I posted a pic in another thread but here it is:

I was planning to have my wedding in California, because I am moving there in a couple months, and doing so would allow a lot more of my family to come... However, all the venues in the OC that I've been looking at are ridiculously expensive, and I don't think it's what I really want anyways - I would be doing it purely for my guests. My fiance and I LOVE Mexico, we go there all the time, and I really think I would regret getting married anywhere else!! Anyways, Dreams Cancun seems like such a gorgeous site, I love that gazebo, and the water on 3 sides. Also, I love the idea that Cancun is an easy/cheap flight from the US. Soo I think it is currently my top choice! My question for you ladies is - how far in advance did you book your date? I am pretty flexible in the Oct-Dec 2010 timeframe, I just want to do a Saturday around 4-5 PM, which of course is probably the most desired time. So I'm just curious how much time I have to make this decision... I'll probably contact Claudia soon to get her feedback on some actual dates, but I was just wondering what you ladies thought first, and was interested to see how far in advance other brides booked their dates. Thanks =) Jessica Jessica, I booked my wedding almost a year in advance and at that point, all the Friday and Saturday evenings were already booked. At first, I was really bummed out, but after thinking about it, I decided it really didn't matter what day of the week I got married. It's not like the wedding is at home and you are incoveniencing people that have to work. Everyone who is attending the wedding will already be there on vacation and will be available every day all week. Needless to say, I booked a Thursday. We arrive the Saturday before the wedding so everyone has plenty of time to settle in but still has a couple days after the wedding to enjoy Cancun before going home. Good luck with your planning and remember to do whatever makes you happy. You're only a bride once and you need the day to be perfect for you and your fiancee not everyone else:)

  16. I got the spa wraps on etsy.com from sprinklemehappy. They came out great and I was really happy with them. I bought the glasses at the Christmas Tree Shop and purchased paint and a spray varnish at Michaels. I just thought of different designs, painted them on and sprayed them at the end so the paint wouldn't chip off when they are washed.
  17. Hi ladies! I gave my girls their gifts this weekend at my bachelorette party so I don't have to lug them all to Mexico with me. I wanted to share my ideas becuase the girls seemed to love them. I got them beach bags, flip flops, personalized soa wraps, personalized luggage tags, starfish necklaces, earrings, passport covers and make up cases filled with travel products. I also made them each a glass. Everything came out really cute!
  18. Hi Ladies! I gave my bridesmaids their glasses on Saturday at my bachelorette and they loved them. They ended up coming out really cute. I bought wine, martini, margarita and daquari glasses and painted them all different with regular acrylic paint. Then I bought a spray sealer to keep the paint from chipping off the glasses. It was a little time consuming since I have 7 bridesmaids, but they came out really cute.
  19. Well ladies, I am getting married in exactly one month from today. The countdown is officially on and I am getting so excited. It's definitely time to tie up all the loose ends and get ready for a great trip:) How are the other October/November brides doing?

Are you done all your planning and stuff? I am getting very excited! I just went for my first dress fitting today. I promise to write a long, detailed review with lots of pics when I get back. This thread helped me with every last detail and I hope mine will help future Dreams brides. Most of my planning is done. I am just trying to finish up getting everything for the OOT bags and I have a coupel other little things to do like writing out the table number cards, notes to guests, etc. I am ready to be in Cancun!!
