Aventura Spa Palace...

I did post a link to some of my pictures.. here it is again if you have facebook: Login | Facebook We used an outside photographer along with the provided one. The pictures above are from our outside photographer. Here's a couple from the provided one: Snapfish: Share:Registration The resort was fantastic. The food was great and the service was even better! I put on a few pounds there! haha! The rooms were really nice but a little small. Not too much storage, just a couple drawers and the closet. There's huuuge jacuzzi tubs in the room that are really nice and the shower is huge. Every room has a balcony and most have a hammock too. The spa is something I definitely recommend. It was so nice and relaxing. We had our wedding on the Cove side (family side) which I preferred to the other side. The other gazebo is way off in the corner with a big green fence next to it and trash cans. I thought the Cove side was much more beautiful. I'm going to post a full review either tonight or this weekend so keep an eye out for it. -
We used Mishka Designs to make personalized maracas for our wedding. They completely exceeded my expectations. Mishka was very responsive, her prices were extremely reasonable, and the maracas were absolutely perfect! I could not be happier and the guests absolutely loved them! They added a beautiful personal touch to our wedding. Here's her blog entry on our maracas! Mishka Designs' Blog: Hearts, Dia de Los Muertos ... what's there not to love?!

I had my wedding at ASP exactly a week ago and it was just wonderful! They do everything for you and my photographer called the grounds "creative overload". The lack of beach is made up for by the beautiful lagoon that you can snorkel in and find some really awesome sea creatures! Not one of my guests had a problem with the fact that there was no beach. Plus, you can go to any of the other resorts! -
It really isn't a challenge at all. I didn't say anything about my outside photographer to Dulce and she actually asked me at our meeting if I had one and was completely ok with it. As long as they are a guest or have a day pass you are fine. The other photographers took pictures only for a little (we got those pics back and they actually turned out really nice!!) and our photographers covered eveything else! There were no questions asked or problems. I do recommend bringing your own photographer bc even though the pictures are nice, you get less than 100 pics and they're very pose-y.

I am having a semi-formal AHR We decided to have one because we didn't invite everyone to the wedding. I kinda wish I would have invited everyone to the wedding and not done the AHR. I feel like it's an added stress I don't want and an extra bill I don't feel like dealing with. On the positive side, I like that I get to have a second party and wear my dress again. It's all about the pros and cons. I think in some ways it's great and in others it's just a head ache. I know a lot of brides loved having their AHR. I'm sure I'll be happy once it gets here and I have a good time but right now (1 day before we leave for wedding) I just wish we only had the wedding to think about!!

I tried a search but didn't find anything but I'm looking for some "easy reads" for the beach. I have a kindle and wanted to load it up before we leave (on Tuesday morning) and was reaching out to your girls for some good beach reads! Any suggestions?!

So I leave in exactly one week!! I finished my bridesmaid's bouquets, bought parasols, pick up my dress today, made program fans, got hand painted maracas from mishka designs, and got my wedding hair trial today! I think I'm ready! Now I just have to pack and go!! I haven't figured out a restaurant yet and I'm super nervous about the salon. I did a hair trial here and I love what she did for me. I'm hoping that they can replicate it in Mexico!

Hey girls! 18 days until my wedding! Ahhhh!! I think I'm pretty set. The things I have left to do are: Printing out time lines for the wedding day for the front desk to give out Printing out my programs Putting together my bridesmaid's real touch bouquets (can you believe how much the resort charges for extra flowers?!!) We made a reservation for the Mexican restaurant for the wedding night. They're only able to seat 12 people there so they have to put us at two tables. Do you think that's going to be alright or do you think I should switch to one of the restaurants that allow 35 people? Any restaurant suggestions from previous Aventura brides?! I think I have everything else together. Any last minute tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hey girls. I got my gerber daisies in from flowers-by-design.com and they look great. Once I put them together in a bouquet I'll post a picture. I'm going to use them for my bridesmaids and have gerber daisies be put in my bouquet to match. My resort is charging 150 each for real bouquets for my bridesmaid and i spent $40 on the flowers from flowers-by-design saving me $260!

My wedding is in 6 weeks and I still haven't decided on bridesmaids gifts. At this point I have no idea what to get them. Any suggestions? Or even just ideas of what you did? All advice will be greatly appreciated!

No, we didn't do a travel agent. I'm regretting it now. When we booked we weren't given a room number so we probably won't know til we get there. I'll probably just ask the front desk when I get there for everyone's room number. Ho hum... i can't wait for this to be done and I can look back and realize how I stressed over nothing
