  3. Hi soon2bePowers - That is great to hear! Thanks for sharing!! It is always good to know when someone in the health profession says it's ok : ) I see you are from St. Louis (like me) and your date is 4 days before mine! I hope the rest of your planning is going well Quote: Originally Posted by soon2bePowers Best news I have heard in a while...... He gave him some suggestions for safe travel (which uncle is emailing me and then I will post!). I am so excited! His uncle is a very cautious person and in to me, him being willing to travel means a lot! Still sending good vibes to all!!

So the cost of Los Vitrales was $50 flat fee not $50/person right? We have been leaning towards the Iberostar because it seems like it is so much cheaper to have a private reception. Thanks again for your help. I'm hoping to hear back from the WC soon, but I imagine with all the "Swine" craziness she is getting overloaded with emails. I'm not scared at all and just want to set a date!! I'm so excited!! No problem! Glad to help. I believe it costs 50 points to open an attachment. Looks like you have about 40 so just one more post and you'll probably have enough. Yes, the Los Vitrales is $50 flat fee. However, I think maybe it only holds 40 people I'm not sure what you do for more than 40 people. I know you can do the Disco, but I've heard it is not good for a reception because it is a Star Trek theme or something. I'm not sure if the convention center would be available for a Lindo/Maya wedding. I'm sorry I'm not much help, our group is only 24. That's great that you have so many people coming!!

We are three weeks away and have got a lot of emails and calls....so far only the people coming with kids are on the fence but everyone else has been really supportive and not panicking! We have 120 people confirmed and will probably loose a few...oh well, i am trying to focus on the last planning I have to do and praying that this thing will be small by the next couple weeks. Keep forward my fellow brides!!!! P. Wow, 120 people! That's great!! And awesome that everyone's being so supportive. My guests have fortunately been very supportive as well and that has helped incredibly. Best of luck to you!! You will have an amazing time : )

We have been doing alot of shopping around of resorts and still keep coming back to the iberostar! I had a few questions that I was hoping someone would be able to answer for me: 1. How many people can fit around the garden gazebo? The chapel? 2. If we choose to stay in the Lindo or the Maya would we still be allowed to use the gazebo and the tropical restaurant? 3. Are there any other options for a private reception? I thought I saw a photo of a reception held in the breakfast buffet restaurant (la laguna at the Maya I think?) If so what are the costs? Thanks so much!! Also "FutureBotter" this is "FutureLanning" thank for recommeding the site =) Leah Hey! I thought I could help answer some of your questions. I'm getting married on the Lindo/Maya side this June. Swine flu or no swine flu! I'm not sure about the number of people that can fit in the gazebos and chapel. But here is a pic of the Lindo/Maya gazebo that I got from the WC. We will be having 22 guests plus us. For a reception, we are having dinner at the Steakhouse on property and then renting a private room for dancing, the Los Vitrales room. It is costing us $50 plus $6 per person per hour for open bar. I will try to post a pic of this as well. Maya Lindo Gazebo.pdf

I have gotten a million phone calls and texts saying what are we gonna do and cant cant go there and blah blah blah....I just don't understand how calling me and complaining is supposed to fix anything.. all it does is upset me. My fiance' thinks its media hype and its all gonna be over soon and whoever wants to back out let them. The only thing he doesnt get is that NO ONE wants to go anymore not even our parents. I really do believe that the media is making it a lot worse then it is (not that its not serious). I mean 36,000 people died in the US last year from the FLU. Anyways i am so over everyone calling me over the swine flu that i could just scream!! I'm so sorry to hear that. And I totally hear you on not understanding why people keep calling. What, do they think you don't already know about the swine flu so they better call and tell you? It is so upsetting. I think you should just wait it out. I'm sure once the media starts covering something else the whole thing will blow over and your family will come around. Hang in there!
  20. Hi rainorswine Groom!! (Love the name) Welcome to the forum! You are not being irresponsible. It's not like you are forcing people to go against their will. They are going because they want to! Besides, I don't believe there are any cases even close to Cabo so I'm sure you will be fine and you will have an AMAZING wedding! I bet you get down there and forget all about the stupid swine flu : ) Go for it!
  21. Thanks for the reassurance! That really sucks. But I am sure it will work out and your wedding will be FABULOUS!!! I wish you the best : )
  22. dbellie - WTF! That is ridiculous. Wait, I'm leaving on a Monday on USA 3000. Crap.
