  1. Fantastic review! Thank you so much - I leave for that resort in one week and get married in 9 days!! Super excited. I've been a little disappointed with the correspondence with my wedding coordinator - Laura - but by the sounds of it they go over every detail when you are there, so i'm going to try not to stress too much!!! I'd love to see some pictures!!
  2. Hi - just wondering if you have to bring adaptors for hairdryers and straight irons to this resort? Also is there a clothes iron in the room?? thanks!
  3. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone remembers if you need to bring adaptors for hairdryers, straigtening irons, etc? Also is there a clothes iron in the room?? thanks!
  4. I havent been on here in a while - work has been so crazy and I think perhaps I've been in a little bit of denial that the wedding is so soon!!! It sounds like you girls have everything under control - can't believe some of you are starting to leave. crazy!
  5. Wow Erika - everything looks so amazing, you are going to have a perfect day. I had never seen that thread about the get well gift - amazing! I'm sure it was the perfect thing to keep you positive and have a more speedy recovery. congratulations
  6. I hear you! I had a little freak out a couple days ago. Work is crazy and when I get home, I'm too tired to do wedding stuff. Now I feel like I have a lot to get done!! But like you said...one project at a time!

  8. So happy to hear about Cuji!! I'm sure he'll be back to himself in no time!
  9. Welcome Sandshara! I'm with you...a little freaked about leaving things to fall into place (I'm a control freak) but I'm trying to stay positive and calm!! I'm sure we will all have amazing wedding days!
  10. My goodness Ashley, I just welled up reading your post. Try to stay positive and pray that you'll get him back. I can only imagine how you must be feeling right now. I have 2 boxers and I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to them. Also, I hope you find whoever broke into your studio and maybe salvage some of your equipment!
  11. Vikki - i LOVE your ceremony decor - the bamboo is awesome!! Great job!

She's ok - that's good to hear!
  13. We didnt hire a videographer - I went back and forth with that decision - but I've decided to have a friend record just the ceremony with my camera. I'm then going to put together a muvee (great software) with photos, the video and music - and have that video has a keepsake, rather than a full video from a videographer....trying to save $$$!
  14. thanks for the great advice Shellb - I think I'll take it - and have a trial done at the spa, just to be sure!

It also fell out (upper back part) early in the evening, probably because she had to pull and reinsert bobby pins to get it to sit right. I am not a fussy person and thought I could do without the trial (had photos of my hair in the updo I wanted), yet this is my one regret. Shellb Uh Oh, this scares me! My plan is to have a hair trial done here and take pictures - I figured that might help with any language barrier and ensure she knows exactly what I want...but that doesn't seem like a solid plan now! Maybe I will try to make time for a hair trial at the spa before hand. Just not that keen on spending more $$!
  16. Oh my, I would have totally forgotten! That would have been embarrassing....and totally their fault!! I'm about ready to have to remortgage the house to pay for this wedding...costs just keep coming out of nowhere!
  17. Nice invites Joann! My rsvp date was also yesterday - we have 33 people booked and about 6 people still on the fence. Altough - I have a BUNCH of people who verbally told me they arent going - but still havent returned their rsvp. What's with that! The envelope is addressed and stamped for goodness sake!

Props to you girl from a fellow orange and aqua punta cana bride!! Ahhh, thanks so much!! Not only do we have our colours and wedding location in common - but I'm also a Maritimer - I'm in New Brunswick! (Originally from Newfoundland). Good luck with all your wedding planning!
  19. Does anyone have the price list for the spa at the Melia Caribe? I'd like to include some of the prices for things in my welcome brochure. Thanks!
  20. Thanks everyone! I can't take too much credit - because I did start with a kit and then just added my own flair! midnight... as for the cost - I bought 2 boxes of the kits @ 35.00 each (that was with a michaels coupon) plus 4 jars of flowers @ $5.00 each, and about 10 sheets of coloured paper @ about 60 cents each. So total spent was about $100 - I made 80 invitations, so only 1.25 each! Plus I still have a few left over! The other cost of course was stamps! So be sure to add that into your budget!
  21. For sure - I'll definately post some pics!! I'm hoping to put in my mug order in the next week or so....not sure how long it takes to get them back?
