Yes that is what I am hoping. I just got worried because I have been watching the prices/trends for this past year and didn't see the consistency once 2k10 hit. I want to get my invitations out asap as well so I am hoping the pricing settles downward soon. I have been using January 2009 pricing as a barometer for my guests so they will sh!t if they see the current January 2010 prices. I am seeing this info on the typical travel sites in Canada (tripcentral, selloffvacations, etc). I guess I will wait a bit longer!

Best of luck Shay in the next few weeks! I noticed the pricing for trip packages are starting to come out for January 2010. I am disappointed the prices are really high! I haven't actually seen anything for the Royal yet but everything in Mayan is higher. For example the sister resort, the Gran Porto Real, for January 2009 was averaging $1300-$1500 CAD. For January 2010 they are asking $1900-$2100 CAD. I can't imagine how much the Royal will cost. Any idea why the prices are so high for January 2010. Historically January has been one of the cheaper times to go outside Hurricane season.

According to this thread looks like girls are just as bad as the guys though in keeping the invites or STDs handy. But yeah its a necessary evil so we'll do it.

I hate to say it but most of us guys don't pay too much attention to invitations or save the dates. So many weddings I have been part of the other guys are always asking the other people "when is the wedding?, what time? where again"? even though they all received invitations with all the details. My fiancee and I are butting heads right now about invitations. I don't want to spend too much time or money on them because as a guy I cannot honestly remember one invitation I have received in the 20+ weddings I have been to in the last 3 years. Yes this includes even the ones I have been a part of. I only remember the food, the drinks, the music and the overall party of a particular wedding. I know the sentiment is the same for my wedding. Most guys just check online for updates or on our Facebook group. I can guarantee any invite we send will be used as a coaster lol.

I have the same problem. I am not liking the prices some of the TAs are giving me. Way overpriced in my opinion. I will wait another month or 2 to see.

After! I have been to a few destination weddings. The ones who had more time before the wedding were stressed out. There is always something to do or nitpick. The ones who had more time after the wedding were more relaxed and had a way better time since they were able to just hang out and spend time with their friends and family.

These rumors/stories remind me of those chain letters I get from people which can easily be debunked by snopes.com 100% of the time. Always ask for a legit SOURCE before listening to these outrageous stories. Get the truth/facts before making a decision or stating an opinion.
