  1. Great offer!! We have our photographer already, but I just wanted to offer a suggestion. For those of you with the "book 'x' people and you get a free one" deal, Josh could be your free person!! It would only cost you the taxes! That's a GREAT deal!!
  2. I think I might do it, even if Jeff doesn't want to!! He hates pics - but I've already warned him there will be lots of them & he better not complain!!! lol
  3. Check out this forum for my invitations. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t29462 And with vistaprint, you can start blank & create your own...upload pics, etc!
  4. They are fantastic!! I think we're going to get a friend to do our TTD as well (well...FI doesn't really know yet that we're doing one - he hates pictures!!). We just bought the new Sony W300 (I think!). It's 13.6 megapixels...and you can buy a waterproof case for it - it's $200 for the case, but I think that might be an Xmas present from the folks!! I will definitely save these pics for reference!! Thanks!
  5. Welcome to the forum!! You're going to love it here!!
  6. Sooooo many good tunes here!! I am not at the stage of planning my music, but I have to post so I won't loose this site!! LOl Oh...our wedding song is Steady as we Go by Dave Matthews Band DAVE MATTHEWS BAND AND DAVE MATTHEWS - STEADY AS WE GO LYRICS I don't know how to put the actual song here...or if you even can! It is here on our website if anyone wants to listen! Our Wedding Website
  7. Welcome!! You'll have lots of fun procrastinating from work on here!! (and find so much useful information in the process!!)

We decided that we are going to plan out our excursion(s) and let our guests know what we are doing & that they are more than welcome to come along. I'm sure some of our guests will not have the money to dish out on extras like excursions/tours. I am not planning a welcome dinner because arrival dates/times are scattered (I have people coming from 4, possibly 5, different gateways!) FI's BM isn't even getting in until the day before the wedding!! I figure we will just be meeting up with people out & about!! And of course we will see them at the wedding!!
  9. OMG...that is so sweet of your father!! A suggestion from a "young one"...maybe your father could pay for your dress (as the tradition I know goes!). I think he would appreciate that! My mom is paying for mine...my father has not offered anything yet (and I don't really expect him too!) Quote: Originally Posted by petunia Funny, but I have a different situation. We didn't want a traditional wedding, the kind many of you younger people are having. We both had one of those a gazillion years ago. Just a nice simple ceremony on the beach with a bunch of family and friends. I want to have a celebration party (I won't use the word "reception") after. Well, my dear dad, who plans to attend, insists on paying for the wedding. I guess this is where the older traditions come in. He will be 90 when I get married. We don't want him to pay for it. I think what I will have to do is give him a minimum amount and let him gift us that. He is such a sweetheart. This comes after my fiance just hit the poorhouse paying for his daughter's princess wedding in July. She "expected" her dad to pay for it. Yeah, I'm still fuming over that!
  10. Thanks! I will need this in a couple months, so I had to post to keep it in my profile!!
  11. Check out this forum.... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t29462 Vista Print has so many options!!

I think I'm going to use my wedding dress for TTD but buy a cheap BM dress in white for my AHR (well...backyard BBQ!)
  14. TTD or Trash the Dress was originally meant to be symbolic. It is the way a bride shows that the mariage to her husband is forever...she will never need the dress again so she trashes it. I think its a great concept...not to mention makes amazing photos!!
  15. Hey Carla, I too had the same problem with my TA, only I have 4 months left and we are already booked with her!! I have to say that normally she is really good...but for a while she was slacking - it took her 3 weeks to get back to me on a few q's I had. After 3 weeks of waiting I had to email her & tell her I was not happy with the customer service I was receiving. Just call him out on it - tell him that if he expects your business he's going to have to bring his 'a' game. There are lots of TAs out there for you to choose from. But if he is recovering from surgery then you should give him the benefit of the doubt this time. Just get your info for your site visit - and make sure he is reliable before booking your wedding with him. Send him a bunch of questions & see how quickly he responds. Remember, before you actually book you can always change! Good Luck!
  16. Always!! I am not a nervous flyer...I just get excited...and I'm scared that I'm going to sleep in & miss my flight!!
  17. You look so beautiful! You must be so excited!! I can't wait for mine to get in!!
  18. I think you're first step should be to find a TA that specializes in DWs. They will be able to offer a lot of suggestions! Once you have an idea of a few places then research them...this is a great forum to find information!! Good Luck and Happy Planning!!
  19. Welcome!! Enjoy all the fun of planning - but remember to do it stress free or it's not fun anymore!! lol
  20. Congrats fellow Canadian!! Happy Planning!
