It's amazing How you can speak Right to my heart Without saying a word, You can light up the dark Try as I may I could never explain What I hear when You don't say a thing The smile on your face Lets me know That you need me There's a truth In your eyes Saying you'll never leave me The touch of your hand says You'll catch me Whenever I fall You say it best When you say Nothing at all I was thinking of using this song!!! I think it's so...ummm...I"m not sure how to describe it...passionate maybe?? Just feels so much from the heart! I think for our recessional we will play a "newfie" song!! We are both Newfoundlanders & I think a fun, upbeat song from our home province (where most of our guests are coming from!) would be neat!! I think we're going to use Goin' up by Great Big Sea... Well come gather all around me There is something you should know There's no place quite like this place If we get it on the go So, pile your boots up in the corner Hang your jacket from the door There's thirty people in the kitchen And there's always room for more [Chorus:] Oh-oh-oh, Come on now Let's lock the world outside Oh-oh-oh, Come on I tell you now She's goin' up tonight Well there'll be music all around you You should see the way it feels Come on off we go now Heel and toe now To the jigs and reels 'Cause somebody's got a fiddle And someone else bought a guitar And we got Bobby on the squeezebox Grab a chair and mason jar [Chorus] Well there'll be smilin', there'll be laughin' Well that's good enough for me There'll be dancing all around you This is where you want to be So pile your boots up in the corner Hang your jacket from the door There's thirty people in the kitchen And there's always room, yes there's always room It's basically a song about having a big party!!! But then we are having our first dance at the base of the gazebo immediately after the ceremony so I don't know how that will transition. Maybe do the recessional, then a mingle/toast and then have the first dance. I guess it doesn't have to be right away. Any thoughts?? Thanks!! Oh....our wedding song is Steady as we Go by Dave Matthews Band.

However, I'm not too keen on having the groomsmen wear white too. Do you think it would look nice with my FI wearing white and the groomsmen wearing khaki with a turquoise colored tie? Any piece of advice would be highly appreciated! My MOHs dress is turquoise as well. FI is wearing all white... And his BM is wearing the white pants as well with the turquoise shirt... These are all from Island Importer. It think the total for all 4 pieces with shipping was under $250! -

Sorry for the delay ladies...but it's been a busy weekend with my mom here! Here are the long awaited dress pictures!!! YAY!!! It's a little big...but better that than too small!! I am planning a backyard BBQ as well...nothing too fancy at all! We live in Ontario, but both of us are from Newfoundland, so we will be going to my mom's for the AHR. I just plan on a pot luck dinner (my aunt's make FANTASTIC food!), BYOB, my uncles/cousins all play guitar (music!), and I'll probably decorate in a (surprise, surprise) tropical/beach theme!! You can get great stuff from ebay - blow up palm trees & all!! So VERY inexpensive & VERY casual!! But it should be VERY fun!!

I found this on weddingbells.ca & thought I would share... It fit me perfectly!!! Why don't we quote our sign so everyone can see what kind of bride(zilla!!!) we are!! I'll do mine in the next post! Written in the Stars Find out what your astrology sign says about your bridal personality. By Roseanne Dela Rosa Sign: Aries (March 20-April 19) Personality traits: Curious, energetic and independent. Bridal pro: When given a task, especially one that you love, you’ll put all your effort and energy into it. Bridal con: Because of your zesty nature there’s the possibility of leaving others in the dust, like your bridesmaids, or even your mister. Enjoy the planning process and keep an ear open to their needs and wants as well. Sign: Taurus (April 19-May 20) Personality traits: Patient, practical and dedicated. Bridal pro: Your hard-working and reliable nature will allow you to delve into the wedding planning process without getting into a major tizzy. Bridal con: You have a tendency not to have an open mind. When you make your decision, you stick to it, regardless. To prevent a stressful situation from occurring, keep your mind open to other suggestions. Sign: Gemini (May 20-June 20) Personality traits: Charismatic, communicative and intellectual. Bridal pro: A very outgoing person and a great communicator, you’ll find dealing with vendors and getting exactly what you want, when you want it a breeze. Bridal con: You can get bored very easily. Know your limits and what you can and can’t do. For example, come up with a whimsical invitation idea but leave the labelling and address stamping to somebody else’s capable hands. Sign: Cancer (June 20-July 22) Personality traits: Nurturing, cautious and emotional. Bridal pro: Your caring nature towards others will come in handy, especially when it comes to dealing with guests and your own bridal party. You’ll find yourself making sure that everybody is having a good time and that problems between members of your bridal party are at a standstill. Bridal con: Be wary of your sensitive side. You may find that small comments bother you. For example, if you overhear a bridesmaid’s remark on the style of her dress, try not to take it to heart—it’ll save you extra stress in the long run. Sign: Leo (July 22-August 22) Personality traits: Ambitious, loyal and generous. Bridal pro: A natural-born leader who enjoys being the life of the party, you’ll definitely love the attention of wedding talk with whomever. You’re easy to please and won’t be throwing tantrums when your stretch limo arrives in white instead of the black one you ordered. Bridal con: Because of your extravagant nature and urge to splurge, you may find yourself deep in the budget hole. Keep a book nearby to record all your expenses and spend wisely. Sign: Virgo (August 22-September 22) Personality traits: Organized, helpful and a perfectionist. Bridal pro: Problem-solving, commitment and attention to detail are some of your strongest talents. These characteristics will ensure that every single detail from the decoration setup right down to the limo pickup is taken care of. Bridal con: Your perfectionism may get in the way of accomplishing tasks on time. Remember, not everything must be perfect! Learn to divide your time equally and prioritize what is most important. Sign: Libra (September 22-October 22) Personality traits: Passionate, considerate and sociable. Bridal pro: One of your best traits is being socially aware of ongoing trends. Because of your awareness of what’s hip and hot, you can rest assured that your celebration will be filled with style, excitement and fun. Bridal con: Your considerate personality is your Achilles heel. You don’t enjoy conflict and like keeping the peace, but don’t be afraid to speak your mind to others (like that bothersome mother-in-law). Your wedding day is all about you, after all, and if you don’t want to wear an old family necklace, you don’t have to. Sign: Scorpio (October 22-November 21) Personality traits: Intuitive, focused and loyal. Bridal pro: You know what you want and go for it. Picking your wedding dress, along with the rest of your attire, will be a breeze because no one’s opinion will sway you in the least. Bridal con: You may have a tendency to be too honest because you like telling it like it is. Before speaking, take a moment to decide whether you can honestly confide in somebody without causing a commotion. For example, telling a cake vendor that their cakes look slightly deranged might be better left unsaid! Sign: Sagittarius (November 21-December 21) Personality traits: Adventurous, easygoing and straightforward. Bridal pro: Your willingness to try new things is a great strength. You’ll find wedding planning stress-free since you’re the type to go with the flow and see the optimism in everything. Bridal con: Although you have a laid-back attitude, your thrill for adventure and spontaneity may cause you to skip some of your wedding responsibilities. Keep a checklist handy to ensure that everything that needs to be done is finished before you move onto something new. Sign: Capricorn (December 21-January 20) Personality traits: Hard-working, ambitious and responsible. Bridal pro: Your disciplined nature will show when it comes to budgeting for your special day. Because of your responsible persona, you won’t have to worry about paying off endless debts after your soiree. Bridal con: Sometimes rather than seeing the glass as being half full you see it as half empty. Try and learn to let go of that concept and see things in a better light. For example, if you hear your day calls for rainy weather, don’t sit back and wait for the storm to happen. Think positively and brainstorm for ways you can cope with the so-called disastrous forecast. Sign: Aquarius (January 20-February 19) Personality traits: Idealistic, kind and eccentric. Bridal pro: Your quirky attitude and outside-of-the-box ideas will come in handy when it comes to wedding planning. Because of your unique ideas, your guests can expect to experience a completely unique wedding celebration. Bridal con: When it comes to doing things the traditional way, expect to cross some barriers. For example, your mother may want you get married in a church whereas you have other ceremony locations in mind. Be mindful of those situations and know when to draw the line and when to compromise. Sign: Pisces (February 19-March 20) Personality traits: Patient, perceptive and shy. Bridal pro: There’s nothing better than a patient bride—which is what you are. Chaotic occasions may arise but your calming attitude will allow you to not get caught up in the wedding frenzy. Bridal con: Your shy personality may get in the way of having things done in a certain way. Don’t let anybody push you around. Speak up on what you like and don’t like and you’ll enjoy your W-day to the fullest.

He's so cute!! Cuddling while he has a snooze!! So adorable!! Yeah, Killick is a chocolate lab. I think we're getting another one next year, either black or yellow. Jeff says he's going to keep buying me puppies whenever I bring up babies!! LOL You should contact the people at TLC...they should be able to let you know if this food will be ok with his allergies. And the best thing is they make treats too...so you know they will be ok too! Also, they ship right to your door for FREE!!

Picked a place!! Riu Merengue
BachataBride replied to saraece's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
A friend of mine does photography as a hobby, so he will be taking our pics (along with everyone else there!). I have heard a few horror stories about the photographer there...http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t29872...I also received an email from a girl who just got married there and used the resort photographer. "The only complaint we had was about the photographers... they took beautiful pics, but they were very expensive... they charged us around $600 US for just 60 digital pictures on a CD. If you have a friend who's a photographer coming with you, I'd go with that." So if you can afford a pro to take with you (or you can "buddy" up with someone & share the travel costs) then I would do that. Also, search for Renee Cobb...I know she's going to be in the northern DR this January & February so she doesn't charge for travel. I was going to use her, but we just couldn't fit it in the budget!! She may not be able to tell you if she will be there in November, but you can keep in touch!! Hope this helps! -
Killick has been eating TLC since he was born. The breeder starts him off on it & highly recommends it (with no benefit to her!). It has free delivery to anywhere in North America!! It's great not to have to go out & pick up his food or treats...just pick it up off the door step when we get home in the evening! www.tlcpetfood.com. I highly recommend it...it's all natural with glucosamine & all that good stuff!! We also add Omega 3-6-9 to his food in the evening to keep his coat & skin moist & silky.Killick loves it!! But he's a 7mth old 60+lb labrador retriever so he'll eat everything!!!

I found a beautiful memory frame at David's Bridal, (see one of the last posts...http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t29284) now I just have to incorporate this poem. Thank you so much for sharing! I found a way to use it without being too sad on my wedding day. I decided against incorporating it into the ceremony...or having anything to do with the wedding day at all. But I decided to use it as the last page of my welcome book. It's not the greatest picture of him...but he wasn't exactly a big fan of getting his picture taken!! -
I'm a big fan of half up dos...I'm trying to figure out how to get mine that way & still have it off the back of my neck so I don't sweat to death!! Maybe up a bit somehow with loose curls coming down. And I like earrings #2. Beautiful dress by the way!! Good luck with the decision making...if you're anything like me you'll just take the majority from the girls here!!

Here's where I'm at in terms of my to do list: -veil -lingerie for under wedding dress -matching ties for groomsmen -need BM/MOH gifts -welcome letters and week itinerary -welcome bag assembly (not doing typical "OOT bags" but having personalized travel candles, mints, and playing cards in each room along with local map) -order all of the above for welcome bags -play list for DJ -order fans, sparklers, maracas -favor tags -table cards and place cards -guestbook -programs -fing dress and shoes for rehearsal dinner -write vows -book hair and makeup trials All that and I still need to finalize details with my wedding coordinator. Luckily I'm not at all worried about the details when it comes to that because she's really easy to get in touch with and is totally on top of things but the rest of the list feels endless and is really stressing me out. I keep feeling like I'm forgetting a million things to boot! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who put things off for a little while but I still feel like I am especially far behind! Oh crap!!! Vows too!!! I forgot about those!! Add it to the ever growing list I guess!!
