  1. Mandalay Bay is popular for in suite receptions, but I can't remember which room, maybe the Vista Suite. The Apex Suite at Planet Hollywood and the G suite at the Palms are also popular. Most people that I know bring food in from outside.
  2. I think it all depends on what kind of food you want to serve and how much the suite costs. There are so many restaurant options with varied pricing. You can spend as much or as little as you want. And there are also many different companies who can help with food for an insuite reception. I think your best bet is to set a budget and go from there.
  3. I look through the thread and realize I never came back after our scouting trip. We are getting married at the Wynn Primrose Courtyard in April. I'm so excited about it!
  4. Unfortunately I didn't make it back to PR. 6 weeks after we got engaged my Mom died very suddenly so we scrapped all of our PR plans and are now getting married in Vegas. They were wonderful to deal with on the phone though. Great customer service and I'm sure it would have been a great place for our wedding.
  5. Yay for date twins! That doesn't happen too often with a Friday wedding. We are getting married at the Wynn in their Primrose Courtyard. I fell in love with it when I saw it.
  6. We are getting married outside in a courtyard so I chose green as my accent color on everything. I had planned to DIY, but I found these at a very reasonable price so decided to save myself the time.
  7. I love love love them! I am also using green invitations so I'm a bit partial though And I think it's very sweet that puppy wanted to help.
  8. Welcome! You've come to a great place and you will find more information than you can imagine here. And trust me, it will get easier as you go!! Enjoy!
  9. It might seem a bit stressful in the beginning, but trust me it will get easier. And you've come to the right place for a lot of great ideas! Welcome and happy planning!
  10. I'm one of the few Vegas brides here, so you know where my vote is! Either one is a fabulous choice!
  11. Have faith! Getting married in Vegas is going to be a ton of fun. I just went last weekend on a scouting trip and I can't wait for next April to get here!
  12. Thanks for all the great reviews. And congrats jen! Looking forward to the pics, and your review of the Wynn since that is where we are getting married!
  13. Yes, I think you are fine. I'm not doing bags at all and instead we are having an afternoon bowling party with the newlyweds as our way of thanking everyone.
  14. We decided on the Primrose Courtyard at the Wynn. I am more impressed with the staff there every time I deal with them. Certainly top notch! And we booked our reception at Maggiano's too. HOLY CR*P! I'm really going to be a bride!
  15. WOW! That is really expensive. I think you would be better off getting 2 smaller limo coach type vehicles. You would save at least 50% off what they are quoting you.
  16. I would also check BellTrans, and Lucky Limo. I am not sure of their rates, but I know many brides use them to transport guests.
  17. The shop where I got my dress gave me info and it said that alterations average $225. I hate to spend that, but my dress has a tiny row of crystal beading on the hemline, so if it has to be hemmed I dont want to take a chance of it being messed up!
  18. I believe a planner, is just that, someone who will plan the whole thing for you. Not sure about consultant. Coordinator is someone you hire to help with the flow of events, interact with vendors, and basically take care of everything the day (and sometimes week) of. A recent bride over on theknot used CLM weddings and was thrilled with how it went. I personally prefer to plan everything myself and hope to enlist a couple of friends to be my "go to" people on the day itself.
  19. What a great story! I too was taken completely by surprise and wouldn't change a thing!
  20. So many great ideas to consider. Thanks as always!
  21. Looking for ideas for songs for cutting the cake. Initially I liked Hit Me with Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar, but FI says that gives him open reign to peg me with cake. Now I'm stuck on Sugar Sugar by The Archies but am looking for what everyone else did. Thanks.
  22. Welcome! My original plan was Puerto Rico where we got engaged, but we changed it to Vegas and couldn't be happier. We both love it there, and although we are going to miss the beach and the ocean we are still able to get married outside in a beautiful garden at Caesars. And it's cheaper so we are inviting a few more people. As others have said, it's your day so pick what you want to do. Happy planning!
  23. Welcome from another Vegas bride! You will love it here. Such friendly and helpful people, with some amazing ideas!
