  1. Thanks for your replies Ladies. My bridal bouquet was to include some roses and some lilies and some dried filler. It was nothing out of the ordinary. I looked at the costco website and found that basically for the price of my bouquet I could get the entire wedding flower ensemble. 1 Bridal bouquet 2 Brides Maid bouquets 1 Toss Away bouquet 6 Corsages 6 Attendant boutonnieres 3 Centerpieces (vases not included) 1 Rose Petal bud $399 What a Deal! Also, I can order 100 stems of Roses for $100. Or 50 calla lillies for $90. The options are endless. My super talented MOH and I can put together our own bouquets! The $1500 I was going to spend on Flowers is now looking more like $500....So What to spend the extra $1000 on is the question. I Love it! Thank You!
  2. Hi Ladies, I'm getting married in Vegas on August 15th, 2009. I have hired a florist and given her a deposit but am finding that her mockups for my wedding leave a lot to be desired and are slightly overpriced (I think)...$340 for my bridal bouquet? I have found that she will listen to my request and then do a mockup or send me a photo of something that is not even close to what I had asked for. As you can imagine this is leading to some feelings of frustration on my part. I want to enjoy this process - Not be frustrated by it. That being said, I have 2 questions for you... Do you think $340 is too much to pay for a bridal bouquet? Have you worked with a good florist in Las Vegas that you can recommend?
  3. The MGM Group (MGM, New York New York, Mirage...plus a couple of others) will hold rooms at no cost to you and give you a confirmation code for your guests to quote when booking. The bonuses to blocking rooms are: 1. You get to be close to your guests...less confusion about where everyone is and more face time. 2. The rates are locked... If the rates for those dates increase your rate at time of blocking is locked in. If the rates decrease the hotel will adjust the rate accordingly. 3. The hotel will hold your blocked rooms until up to a month prior to your date, rooms that are not spoken for by your guests and held with a credit card will then be re-released to the public...at no cost to you. When blocking rooms most of the other hotels in Vegas want you to secure a certain number of rooms with a credit card. With the MGM group they are simply more flexible and willing to work with you. Plus Kids under 12 stay free & Any guests can add an extra guest to their room for an additional $35 (which works for singles coming alone). Also MGM has an airport check-in desk located between baggage carousels 1 and 2 when you get off the airplane. They give you your room key on the spot and there is no line-up.
  4. Thank you atlcatlover. I did a phone interview with CLM and one with Events by Michele. I ended up choosing the second one because of her level of professionalism as well as her level of experience. I hope everything goes well...I feel like I am putting a lot of faith in someone I have never met, but am going with my gut on this one. I just know she is going to do a good job.
  5. This is a two-part question...1st Does anyone know if there is a difference between a wedding planner, a wedding consultant and a wedding coordinator? And 2nd, Has anyone had any experience with the above in Las Vegas? I am looking to hire a professional to orchestrate my wedding next year and would be delighted if a good referral were sent my way.
  6. We are planning on The Little Chapel of the West for the ceremony. We are headed to Los Vegas for a "planning trip" next month to check things out though and perhaps take care of some bookings. Never having been there before I am just looking for some out-door patio suggestions. Any reply I get back from these forums will go on my "must visit" list and Mike and I will try to choose the most suitable one while we are there.
  7. Wow! Thankyou blkladylaw. I will definitely look into it. Sounds like a great location!
  8. Hi Ladies...I'm searching for an outdoor patio in Vegas in which to hold my reception. I would prefer something not at street level and also something not over the top expensive. Also the restaurant must be able to accommodate 30 to 50 guests. I am headed to Vegas on a "planning trip" next month so I will be able to look at a few and hopefully choose one. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  9. Thank you for the replies ladies. You've been very helpful.
  10. Hi Everyone, My name is Christiane and Next year I'm marrying my sweetheart (Mike Brooks) in Las Vegas. No Date set yet but We're thinking probably the Fall. I don't want to have the wedding in July or August due to the heat. But I don't want it during the winter either. Does anyone know what the temperature is like there in September?
