Hey, Has anyone used th ewedding site before?? I thought it was free, but could be upgraded. I made a site and sent all of my guests there and now they are telling me my free site will expire in 5 days and I will need to upgrade. I really didn't want to pay $50 for a site. Did anyone do the upgrade for this site??

I think I will go with my mom. I really like the idea of her saying, her father and I do when asked who will give me away. I know he will be there in spirit, but it's still really hard. I found a beautiful poem on another post that I am trying to incorporate into the ceremony somehow.

Thanks for all of the input. I am actually thinking my mom too, we are extremely close. Since my brothers are all ready in the wedding, I am sure it would mean a lot to her. I don't know if I would want to walk down alone, because as I said it is going to be so emotional, I think I will need someone to be there for me and hold my hand.

I am wondering for those of you have lost your father, who will be giving you away? I have two brothers, but both are standing up in the wedding. My uncle was a thought, but I'm still not sure if he's going to be able to make it. I have even thought about my mom. I know this is going to be an emotional experience for me because my dad cannot be there and I just want it to go as smoothly as possible. Any ideas or suggestions??

The nightlife at the Couples resort was pretty good, but not as action packed as other resorts we've been to. That didn't bother us too much because we were looking for something more romantic. I did split a week up at two properties though, so we probably missed out on a lot of the events being that we were only at each place for a couple of days. From what my travel agent told me, Couples Negril has the best nightlife out of the Couples resorts. Sans Souci and Swept Away are supposedly pretty quiet at night.

It's really early and we haven't set anything in stone yet, but I think we are just renting out a couple pavillions at the beach and having a big BBQ. I want to do something laid back that kind of fits with the whole destination wedding.

For our honeymoon we are staying at Couples Negril and I highly recommend it! We avacationed at both the Negril and Ocho Couples a few years ago and the Negril property was amazing! The service was excellent and the food was amazing. The beaches in Negril are breathtaking. We are getting married at RIU Ocho Rios, but then we are taking a shuttle iver to Negril. It's going to be a long trip over, but we figured it was worth it and will break up our trip a bit. Good luck with your planning!!!

That poem is beautiful and really touched me. I too lost my father 2 years ago and I am wondering how to honor him at the ceremony. I really love the locket idea because it would be like he was walking with me. I don't even know who is giving me away yet. Maybe my brothers or uncle or possibly even my mom. My FI also lost his father so I would like to do something to honor them both somehow. Any ideas??

Hopefully that will be an option! That would be great. I'm a little worried because it is spring break time when we are going that it will be all filled up.

Hi! I was wondering if anyone who has had a dinner reception at Mammee Bay has any comments on how it was. I know they say it is semi-private, but how private is it really?? I was thinking of doing a cocktail reception after at Seagrapes. Does anyone know if there is a seperate charge to book this besides the $10 pp for open bar? Does this seem to be a better location than the disco? I haven't heard many good reviews of the disco. Does anyone have pictures of Seagrapes and/or Mammee Bay receptions

I am actually not icky about the date at all, I would be willing to change it as long as I can get a later time. I emailed and told them that I would prefer to change if anyone cancels so I will just cross my fingers! I think it is so busy because it is spring break time when we are going. The funny thing is I have all ready suggested that she stay for less time, but her response is If I spend all of that money, I am staying for a full week. I know it makes no sense!! I can totally relate to the smile and nod response! That is exactly what i have been doing. I have a feeling that she just won't be coming after all and maybe it's for the best!

I am kind of confused as to exactly what i should be doing right now. I requested my date and received confirmation which they later changed on me.I was told that there was an availabilty for the next day but have yet to get my confirmation number. I am thinking of doing the free package but just adding on some extras like the disco and a dj. I was also looking at the Royal package. What is the real difference between the 2. Can you book a semi-private dinner with the free package or do I have to upgrade? Iam expecting around 30 guests and i definitely want a sit down dinner and a reception afterwards. I have heard people talk about Mamee Bay and the Plantation. What is the difference? Also when can I actually book the disco and restaraunt?? What if more than one bride want them? I am so confused....should I be requesting them this early?
