  1. Sorry if I sound dumb for asking this but what's a kong? I found out last night that the breeder I want to go through has been using "pee pads" and I heard these just confuse the dog and makes them think they can pee inside the house. If they're already using pee pads and the puppy is 7 weeks old, how easy/hard would it be to convert them into kennel training?

He would go outside for me like 5 times but would still go again when we got back inside within 10 minutes. That didnt stop until he was fixed. And believe me i took him out constantly and would take him for hour long walks and he would still go a little when we got to the house. But as much as a PITA he was to potty train it was all worth it. he's a great dog now. And kennel is the way to go. they get into everything and its for his own good to be in a crate when unsupervised until he learns what he shouldnt play or chew, or pee on. Yep, looking for a red short hair male puppy. =) I've heard I definitely need to be patient in the beginning but I didn't know they had such a hard time with the potty training, especially if they're kennel trained. I guess it varies from dog to dog. I've heard that it's also important that they're AKC registered. Is that correct? I didn't think of the whole "crate" thing before but thanks for suggesting that idea. I wondered what I'd do with him in the beginning so he doesn't chew up furniture.
  3. I just joined Facebook as of 3 weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I held out for quite a long time but now that I'm on there, I'll never go back to MySpace!
  4. So I'm in the market to get a Dachshund any day now, just depends on if I see the one I want. I figure I'll know when I first see him. I'm going to Kennel train the dog, so with that said, is there anything I should know before hand about these kinds of dogs? This will actually be my first dog or real pet for that matter, so there's a definite learning curve. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Ok, I want to stay near Market Street. Hotel Monaco and the Le Meridien have caught my eye so far.

  8. I'm trying to plan a surprise birthday present trip for my wife to San Francisco in the next 3-4 months and I'm in great need of some hotel advice. I'm looking for a great hotel that's located in the middle of everything. The Le Meridien has caught my eye so far but I'm not sure if that's the route to take. Can anyone help me with some suggestions Thanks
  9. Good question but I can see it coming in handy if you have teenagers and you want to know where they are.

  11. PC World - Spy On Your Workers With Google Latitude This is quite an interesting program. I tried it out yesterday when it was released and it's pretty cool if you want someone to know where you are but there's always that possibility of it being turned on and you not knowing it's on. I haven't played with it too much so I don't know if anyone can just add you as a friend and see where you are, or if you have to approve that they can see you first. Anyway, it's kind of cool...yet scary!
  12. Would any of you recommend setting up a dummy account so I could test the security of my profile?

Click off: "My Friend's List". This will prevent anyone (but yourself) from seeing your friends list. ....I hope that wasn't too confusing...... No, I definitely appreciate your help with this, with my experience on there...I just wasn't too sure you could do that. I'll have to reactivate my account and try it again.

That would be nice but if you go through your grad class, haven't you noticed how on the left side it shows their photo and name, then on the right side it gives you the option to add them as a friend and then view their friends? It shows the view friends thing for everybody! I would have thought that at least someone would block their friends list to someone who wasn't their friend (that being me).

  16. I want to apologize if the little danasoft penguin on my signature scared anyone. All it was doing was recording your IP address as your computer loaded the image and then displayed your information back to you. I was in no way recording, tracking or stalking any of your IP addresses or information, it was just something you saw. It was originally meant as a crude joke but I can see how some of you would have been thrown off by it. So again, I apologize if that alarmed anyone.
  17. I think I just found my answer! Can you hide a friend on your face book friends list so that another person can't see them? - Yahoo! Answers
  18. So yesterday I signed up on Facebook for the very first time due to all my friends bugging me about getting on there. The look is quite a bit different to MySpace but what disappointed me the most was the privacy settings. I discovered that you really can't block your friends list, even if you designate it to Friends Only. I was able to go through my high school graduating class and see everyone's friends and that was a big turn off. Am I off my rocker here or is this correct?

They always have great sales. Good luck and keep us posted if you find any great deals That's just the thing, we've been shopping around locally and we're yet to find something along those same lines, or at least something that grabs and holds out attention. There's another bed at Restoration Hardware but it's a bit too boxy, it's the Larkspur.
  20. Hello Ladies...and few Gentlemen! My wife and I have been looking around for new bed furniture sets and we're both pretty much sold on the Pottery Barn's Hudson Collection (see below). My question to all of you is...do any of you have any complaints about this collection or any other Pottery Barn furniture pieces? And is $1,799.00 (excluding mattress & bedding) too much to be spending for a king?

So my bill with cable internet w/taxes is $132.77.

If you only have a G card, then it doesn't matter if your router is an N because you can only accept speeds as fast as your wireless card will allow. When setting up your router, PLEASE secure your network. It's a no-brainer for most people, but you would be surprised at the amount of people who don't know that they need a secure network. Put a password on your network, and not a word or passphrase, use something like a jumble of letters and numbers that would take someone a long time (and a lot of patience lol) to crack. And as for the frequency, the higher the frequency, the better the signal. The higher the frequency, the less likely it is to interfere with cordless phones, baby monitors, etc, just like the frequency on your cordless phone I'm not an expert, my opinion is from my own personal experience and working two years selling electronics Like anyone, I am wrong from time to time lol Excellently put! I've done quite a bit of research the past 10 days and I've come to the same conclusion as you. The only question I'm faced with now is Dual Band or Single Band router?

I didn't have any trouble with initial setup of the Linksys. After about 11 months of operation the Linksys stopped working and I spent a couple of hours trying to sort it out including an hour on the phone with tech support. It turned out it was not working properly and so I got instructions to return it for a replacement. I also spent a fair amount of time on the phone with tech support for the D-Link router. I would say that the tech support for both companies was pretty good (the problem with the D-Link was my fault - younger daughter moved into a rented house for university and I took my router which was set up for our DSL at home and tried to hook it up in the new place with a different internet provider and the settings all had to be changed manually, which the D-Link tech support talked me through). I used to have the router in the basement and so the wireless connection was poor in the bedrooms. Now I have it on the main level of the house and we regularly have two laptops connected wirelessly and my desktop connected wired. If my daughter is watching streaming TV shows I will notice that my connection is slow, but most of the time we have no problems. She can get a connection anywhere in the house or back yard. The connection is password protected, unlike some of our neighbours My dad who is a techie nerd has checked everything out when he visits and as far as we know everything is ok with the firewall that came with the router, and up to date virus scanners on all computers. Hope that helps but that really is the limit of my knowledge on these things Hey Helen_S81, yeah your feedback was helpful, so thank you! Is your current router one of the Linksys routers? If so, which one?
  24. Go with the touch, I got one for Christmas and it rocks!
  25. This is for all you networking nerds out there (hopefully there's some)! Forgive me for my lack of knowledge but I'm a rookie to this. I'm looking to setup my first personal home network. I've read up a little bit on wireless routers and I'm pretty sold on getting a Dual-N router, much like the Linksys WRT310N, Linksys WRT610N, or Netgear RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router WNDR3300. With this being my first time, are these good options? What about the 5GHz and 2.4GHz frequencies, should I be concerned about my support for both of them? My main concern is my bandwidth speeds and firewall security, so I'm curious if my current path is the correct one, or if I also need to look into getting an additional firewall. Any help would be greatly appreciated! =)
