  1. Got some major wedding to-dos accomplished this past weekend. Went to my first fitting for my dress! Got the invites to my shower and they were even mailed this evening. Went to the country club this afternoon with the girls from work to do some planning for my shower in August.

Things are starting to come together and it's getting scarier and harrier.

    95 days to go!

  2. OMG! I watched that one. Lisa Coppola of NJ - she's a freakin' trip. Swearing and yelling at everyone - including her daughter. Even her mother questioned why the guy was marrying her AGAIN.

I have my FI hooked on that show but he's been traveling on the west coast this past week and was going to have to miss the final episode that had Lisa in it. He said to me, "my hotel doesn't have WE" - I LMAO - good thing we have Tivo. Great show but those brides are lunatics.

The episode last night, in addition to Lisa, had a new bride in MI looked like Tonya Harding from back in the day when she had Nancy Kerrigan's knee whacked.

It was fun. I'll try to attach the actual table cards, which I had printed and laminated.

    Good luck to you!

I love this idea of naming your tables after drinks. Another suggestion is to name the tables after the areas of/near PV: Mismaloya, Playa Conchas Chinas, Nuevo Vallarta, Playa Los Muertos, Bucerias, etc.

I want something similar to it...but I can't find it. I would mind a huge starfish with bling.
They don't have starfish, but they have other bling flip-flops. I got the Starburst Wedge in Ivory (in addition to my red satin shoes, of course). I love them!

Also, I think there is photographer who works at LC but I know a lot of brides get their own photog. I was thinking the LC person would really know how to work with the lighting there, etc. Has anyone used the photographer that is price quoted on the LC contract?

If not, anyone you would recommend for an LC wedding? I have a few names so far, but looking for further suggestions.

    Thanks!
My wedding is at LC in October and I'm using Roberto Aceves, who is a local PV photographer and at one point was included in the LC PVAdventures package. He's doing more work all over PV these days. He's rather reasonable (under $2K for everything we want), and knows LC well. Here's his site: Interphoto 2000
One of the brides on BDW had also used him (I'm sure there are others), but I'm so sorry I can't remember her name now. I had contacted her and she was very happy with Roberto and his work. I didn't book him through PVA, but actually my friend who lives in PV had suggested Roberto. At the time I booked him, I didn't even know he had been one of the package photogs.

I'm also having my hair and make-up done at LC the day of the wedding by Sebastian - the salon that Nicole had suggested. Rather reasonable pricing for both hair and make-up, about $200 USD.

    Hope that helps.
  6. My parents were down from Pittsburgh for a visit back in May and stayed up on Lake Texoma. Very pretty area. They stayed at the Tanglewood Resort: Welcome to Tanglewood Resort on Lake Texoma - Lake Texoma's premier resort.

Not exactly in the lap of luxury, but was nice for a weekend on the lake and about an hour north of Dallas (up 75).

Lots of other options in the area, too: Lake Texoma*-*Lodging

Kind of like the look of Escondida. Very serene.

  7. The $10.7 million renovation at the CasaMagna Marriott Resort and Spa began June 12 and will go through October 31, 2008 - the low season. (Fortunately for us, our wedding is at the tail end of the renovations.) Can't wait to see the changes! There were a few upgrades throughout the property when we were there in April, so I'm excited to see what they'll do with the rooms and the main restaurant, La Estancia.

but i don't see a problem with guests staying somewhere else since it is their vacation and their $$ being spent.
I agree... they were careful with their words, but it came across a touch rude. However, if they didn't run it by you and went ahead and booked elsewhere, you'd probably be upset too (I know I would). It's almost a lose/lose situation. He!!, I'm still waiting for my brother to pick his ba!!s out of his purse to let me know he's not coming to my wedding. My dad let that one slip by.

Anyway, sleep on it for a while before you give them your response. Besides, in a month, you'll have something else to worry about and this will be a thing of the past.
  9. Going back to your original question about the starfish, if that's what you want to incorporate into your theme, then you should do it. Just because you don't see a starfish in PV, doesn't mean they don't exist. Besides, starfish are synonomous with the beach in general. It's a great idea. Personally, I'm doing a fleur de lis theme. No relation to the beach obviously, but it means something to me.

As for Epoca, sounds fantastic. I am, however, having my welcome dinner at Barcelona. We've eaten there several times and our friend who lives in PV is a friend of the owner. Love the place - can't go wrong with Barcelona Tapas.

  10. We don't plan on telling anyone about our legal church wedding in the states either. Actually will be a double ceremony at my friend's church - they're renewing their vows along with us. I'm more or less having it in a church for my dad and to be recognized by God, but don't plan on making any sort of announcements about the legal church ceremony. Nobody's business. My friend won't be coming to Mexico for the wedding, but we wanted to do something together. She's also the only person to step up to throw me a shower because I am not having a wedding party.

What's more special is that we decided to do it on her father's birthday, 9/26. He's passed away and she always wanted to do something special in remembrance. The four of us will go to church, get married and go out for dinner. I do plan to wear my TTD for the ceremony at the church and to dinner.

YAY, Yari! You won't regret it. You deserve them! I tried mine on and fell in love. I had searched online and went to a couple stores (Bebe had some nice ones, some Jimmy Choos, etc.) but the red ones were the one. I just knew it when I looked at them in the mirror on my feet

Now I can go get my dress altered for length.
