Las Caletas Vendors Suggested

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone-

I am in the midst of deciding on photographers and possible hair & makeup people for my LC Wedding in December. My mom found a stylist who will come to LC and costs approx what Nicole quoted me. Has anyone used the stylist who works with pvadventures, and if so, what do you think?

Also, I think there is photographer who works at LC but I know a lot of brides get their own photog. I was thinking the LC person would really know how to work with the lighting there, etc. Has anyone used the photographer that is price quoted on the LC contract?

If not, anyone you would recommend for an LC wedding? I have a few names so far, but looking for further suggestions.

Thanks!

I used Elizabeth Lloyd. I thought she was a photog that LC recommends but I didn't know if she did their "package" pricing. She knows LC though- she's done many weddings there. I know of at least 5.

I did my own make up and a friend did my hair. I'm no help. sad.gif

My wedding is at LC in October and I'm using Roberto Aceves, who is a local PV photographer and at one point was included in the LC PVAdventures package. He's doing more work all over PV these days. He's rather reasonable (under $2K for everything we want), and knows LC well. Here's his site: Interphoto 2000
One of the brides on BDW had also used him (I'm sure there are others), but I'm so sorry I can't remember her name now. I had contacted her and she was very happy with Roberto and his work. I didn't book him through PVA, but actually my friend who lives in PV had suggested Roberto. At the time I booked him, I didn't even know he had been one of the package photogs.

I'm also having my hair and make-up done at LC the day of the wedding by Sebastian - the salon that Nicole had suggested. Rather reasonable pricing for both hair and make-up, about $200 USD.

Hope that helps.

I think PVadventures uses several photogs and stylists, so it all depends on who Nicole recommends for you. (May depend on who's available on your wedding date also.)

My hair/make-up was done by Fernando from Stylo Estetica. He has a salon in Bucerias (in NV). I think Kelley recommended him because I wanted to do a trial, and my hotel was very close to his salon. (If you want to do a trial and are staying far from Bucerias, this may not be an ideal match.) But I was very happy with the way my hair/make-up turned out. I think he did a great job. His English is not great though, so it may help to brush up on some Spanish. And he showed up to LC about 30 minutes later than he was suppose to. He called Kelley to let her know, and she let me know, so I wasn't stressed about it. But if this sort of thing would get you stressed out, you may want someone else.

As for photography, I also used Elizabeth Lloyd and I thought she was great to work with. She was reasonably priced for our wedding, but she may have increased her rates since then. I haven't gotten the pro-pics back from her yet (she said she mailed them today!), but I did an engagement session with her, and I would definitely recommend her.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
